Than it was on friday. Reporter correct, it is. And i reached out to tesla to ask them if they have resumed production of electric vehicles at their factory here in fremont. Yes, the employee lot is much fuller than it was friday morning at this time. Youre looking at the south side of this factory behind me where weve seen a number of new teslas that were not there on friday. Were also seeing a number of car carriers hauling teslas from the factory within the past 15 to 30 minutes. Still waiting for a response from the company. This morning Business Insider reports tesla resumed some operations at this location and is asking employees by texts and phone, not email, to report back to work in spite of the shelt shelterinplace order. Before the coronavirus, teslas biggest problem was money. Scott mcgrew continues our coverage. Scott, i know tesla may not be able to really afford what musk is threatening to do. Reporter no, thats exactly right. He could certainly move the headquarters, offices and offi supplies and whatnot. But that rarely goes well. Remember, boeing moved away from seattle to chicago. It wasnt the cause of all of boeings problems, and its had a lot of problems, but it certainly did not help. Moving the headquarters is kind of shooting yourself in the foot. As for moving an entire car plant, right, many of our stories before this were about teslas cash flow and how it needed more money. Moving a car plant just to do it seems like a poor use of that money. Now, to be clear, tesla does have plants in china and its building one in germany. But it does not have another plant in america, at least not making cars. Lets take you to the big board in new york city where the stock market is largely recovered, its trading around zero but largely recovered off early losses. Tesla is down about 1 . Today going to be pretty much the same . Its going to be nice for the start of the day. But things will change as we go into the afternoon. Were alrdy live look outside in san jose. We havent seen the same conditions as heading up to San Francisco and farther north where rain is starting to move in. We have clouds from the coast, uplifted by mountains on the coastline. In the north bay were seeing some of those showers coming out of those clouds. It will be a cooler day, especially in the north bay. Were only looking at highs here in santa rosa reaching 65 degrees. Up to 72 in concord. It will be warmer away from the coast and some of those areas that arent yet seeing that rain moving in. But here is a look at that storm system. And its ar to move into much of Northern California. It will continue to spread its way into the rest of the bay area going into the late morning, early afternoon hours. Right now, as we see that rain moving through ukiah, its also now raining in santa rosa, parts of marin county. This will continue to spread over napa and fairfield within the next hour or so. As we get a closer look, we can see that most of this is light rain. If you go up in some of those hills, it looks like its raining a lot more heavily. Thats what were seeing from the hills looking over towards santa rosa where some rain continues to fall at this hour. Its really nice to see this rain, especially after having such dry weather and those hot temperatures that we had toward the end of last week. This is going to possibly help slow down the onset of that fire season, giving some of our hills especially in the north bay a little bit of moisture. Going into today, the rain will be spotty. Not all the bay acquire wirea w these showers. But the north bay will have the highest chance of seeing showers move through. 8 30 tonight, were seeing light rain moving into parts of the peninsula and very spotty for the east bay. And so as we go into tonight, rain chances will continue with some rain. Some of our highest rainfall totals will be in the north bay as well as the santa cruz mountains. Its not only today, its tomorrow and wednesday. And then it starts to move out on thursday. But for the most part, were looking at about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain, possibly closer to a half inch of rain farther to the north. This is the first of a couple of storm systems that will come in this week. In between, our temperatures warm up. And then by sunday well see another storm system coming in that could bring us some rain along with some cooler temperatures. So, nice and mild as we go through the week. But check out friday, marcus. This is when it heats up. But then it doesnt last long as the next round of rain comes in. It will cool off quite a bit on this upcoming sunday, now back to you.
