When you lose the last bit of your sleep, youre losing proportionately more of our dream time and likewise when you catch up. So pick out the dream youd like to have and focus on that image very strongly as youre falling asleep. And it doesnt work 100 of the time. But it makes it much more likely that youll both have the dream youre asking for and also not have the anxiety dreams. Yeah. This is tricky. Ive been trying that. I got to keep willing myself on to a beach in these dreams better. How do we focus on better sleep overall, deirdre . If youre having insomnia through these periods, theres several techniques that help that. One is going to bed and waking up at the same time. Another is avoiding screens at night, looking at bright light at exactly the time that it would naturally be dark is very bad to getting sleepy. Also, theres a myth that hot baths are good for sleep. They relax your muscles but our body is trying to drop temperature as we get sleepy. Anything that warms it can ag aggravate insomnia. Last, dont work in the bed.
