One of those you see right over, there the mission. Many latinos live in that part of the city, and she pointed out that 25 of covid19 cases citywide are among latino, but they make up to 15 of the citys population. Another hot spot you can see up there, soma, because of the large outbreak at the msc homeless shelter. Mayor breed says the city is using the map to help treat the outbreak. Its in no way indicating that some parts of our city are safer than others. So i dont want us to get the idea that that is the case in any of our neighborhoods. Reporter mayor breed says that for now, no matter the color of your zip code on the map, it means stay home and continue to practice social distancing. Thank you, garvin. Governor newsoms briefing today, very different, besides the update on the nuts and bolts of the status of the virus, there was a message from the first partner who talked about staying home with four kids under the age of ten herself. Distance learning has been a real chance to say the least. It can feel overwhelming every day to keep them on task and motivated to tackle their most daunting challenges. While balancing the daily demands of my own work, taking Conference Calls and zoom meetings in between lesson plans, and love them. The governor today talked about the how the state is closing the Digital Divide for school kids and says google, apple and microsoft have donated hot spots and 10,000 ipads and 70,000 laptops. When many of us are finally able to go back to the office, there is a good chance you will take an Antibody Test to be allowed to. A lot of talk about these tests. But what exactly are they . And a lot of confusion, too. Raj, you have been talking about the Antibody Test force a while. Raj mathai joins us from home. That is the indicator. It is different from the covid19 test. This is the one that tells you if youve already had coronavirus and you didnt even know it. Reporter yes, theres many versions of this Antibody Test, and we have been talking about it for a couple of weeks now and kind of the hot phrase but i think there is still confusion and people just not knowing what exactly it is. So simple things first. A little pick. Get your blood here. And then they Start Testing that blood. Now the primary test that were going to talk about this evening is that test, that Antibody Test, that could possibly allow you to go back to work, and it would test if youve already had covid19. Now, just a little while ago, we spoke with our nbc news medical analyst. The one that were really focusing on is the igg Antibody Test, which is trying to determine who may be recovering from the infection, and immune, and possibly healthy enough to go back to work. The thing is that right now, we just dont have widespread availability of this test, in terms of accuracy, and validation. And do we know that if i had covid19, ive recovered, am i immune moving forward . When will we know that . Yeah, so that is a really good question. And thats almost a Million Dollar question. And the short answer is that we actually dont know quite yet. Because remember, this is a novel virus. Weve just, were learning day by day, how it works. And so because our immune systems are new to this virus, we just dont know how long immunity will last. And thats the frustrating part of all of this, they want to get more data, and theyre working on it, especially ucsf and stanford, but right now, 30 to 40 accuracy, which doesnt sound very good at this point, but once they get more people tested, that accuracy and data should continue to rise, and it is happening in our own backyard, ucsf stanford, other regional areas want to get this thing solved as soon as possible. Well see you in a few minutes. Jessica . Thank you very much. A little more about the Antibody Tests in action. A study tracking the spread of covid19 found hundreds of thousands in l. A. County may have already been infected. The numbers show 2. 8 to 5. 6 of adults have antibodies to the virus in their blood. And that translates to roughly 221 to 422,000 adults who have already recovered from an infection. The county though reported fewer than 8,000 cases at the time. Just last week, a stanford study found there may be a times more cases that are on record in santa clara, than are on record in santa clara, however experts say that underreporting is not off by a factor that high. No masks no problem. What one city in the east bay is doing to make sure everyone has the protection they need before a mandatory mask order kicks in. And celebrating one special birthday. In less than 48 hours, several bay area counties will start enforcing mask requirements. Heres a breakdown of which counties are requiring you to wear some sort of Face Covering when out in public. In solano and santa clara counties. Now the one county doesnt have any masks in public order. And hayward is making sure that front line workers stay safe during this crisis. The city was able to get 10,000 masks specifically for central businesses. Now, these arent the surgical or n95 masks, since those are being saved for health care workers, these are for Grocery Stores and other essential businesses like restaurants that they can restaurant a mask by calling the city covid hot line and pick them up at city hall. A small Coastal Community in marin county, bolinas making National Headlines attempting to test everyone for covid19. The first time an entire community is tested for the virus. And over the next four days they plan to test all residents to see if theyre sick or infectious and in addition to test for the covid19 antibody to see if anyone had the virus than would be helpful in determining if anybody develops immunity. 1600 people have signed up for the test which is about the entire population of bolinas. Looking at hopefully valuable information comes out of this that can be shared with everybody about the virus because there is so much unknown about it. Its transmission, so im hoping that there might be some breakthroughs as a result of the testing here. Ucsf department of Infectious Disease is partnering with b olinas for that project. An incredible milestone today for a woman who served her country during world war ii. Mary is an original rosy the riveter and she turned 100 today. Nbc bay area Damian Trujillo was there when the Community Came together to celebrate marys big day, although differently than anyone could imagine. Reporter she came outside of her modest home, wondering why all of the news cameras had gathered outside. It makes me so different with this mask on. She was told to have a seat and enjoy the show. But on this day, mary was the show. San jose showed up to wish her a happy 100th birthday. I love you. Happy birthday. An endless parade of wellwishers, showered her, as shes known, with birthday cheer. So she is truly an amazing treasure. All of us, shes aunt mary, thats who she is, and we love her so dearly. When her husband went off to fight during world war ii, mary went to work here at home. She became a rosy the river etter, attaching the wings of a top secret airplane bomber. The b 29s. I was working on those aircraft. They sent my husband overseas. And i got a job at the roundhouse. Changing the oil and the water on the freight engines. Many things have happened over the last 100 years. From the great depression, to the moon landing. And through it all, mary was there to witness it. So today, in two separate parades, san jose came together to say thank you and many more. Im surprised. I see this, i say my goodness, what is happening . I cant believe it. I wasnt expecting this, you know. So today, a celebration a century in the making, all for mary. Damian trujillo, nbc bay area news. So impressive, rosy the riveter. Look at her. How wonderful is that . How wonderful is that. And they didnt get rained on i dont think in the parade. Know he there were sprinkles in the bay area today. Jeff ranieri joins us with a look at the weather. The weather the past couple of days, definitely a little bit more gloomy than we were used to but lots of sunshine moving in. So hopefully a lot of you had some time this weekend to kind of unplug from the work from home or the home schooling, and youre ready to go for the new week. So i know this is kind of our new normal for at least right now. But do know we have some more 911 coming your way. And lets bring you outside to our Doppler Radar and satellite, and there has been some hit and miss showers across the bay area. Nothing big. Nothing major was expected. And right now, were seeing the bulk of this, over marin and napa and sonoma counties, on the very northern fringes so as we zoom in to get a closer look, youll see over cloverdale, clear lake and Hidden Valley lake, we do have some moderate and a few pockets of heavier rainfall, this is moving from the north, off to the south, and also the east. So some of this activity, over clear lake, will continue down into Hidden Valley lake, as we head through the next 32 to 45 minutes. And also, this rain over cloverdale, will be pushing down towards windsor, and also, as we head through the next 30 to 45 minutes as well. So the chance here of some spotty isolated rainfall for tonight, here is the big change, what im tracking right now is, high pressure, and this is going to be the strongest we have seen built in, since february, so that means a warm round of weather on the way. Even some 80s, as the rainfall would stay off to the north, now, sure, wed like some more rainfall in here, but with whatever everybody is going through, the number one demand im seeing here, at least from all of the viewers if you want sunshine, you want warmer temperatures. So lets go ahead and bring new tomorrow mornings forecast, we will start off with some clouds, some 40s and low 50s. And not super cold. Well get some sun in here. It will be gradual. I think overall, the best time to get outside would be through the afternoon. Because youre seeing in the morning hours, we have the cloud cover down here through the east bay, and also, for the south bay, and right over towards the peninsula, with some isolated drizzle. Then as we hit the afternoon, theres your sunshine, and it is going to be magnificent. So best time to get outside, 11 00 a. M. To 7 00 p. M. Tomorrow, with that sun building in, were going five to ten degrees warmer tomorrow, and that will put us at 71 in san jose. For the east bay, take notice. Concord, pittsburg, antioch, mid 70s a little closer to the bay, some cooler 60s. And i think we will get up to our warmest here in palo alto, along the peninsula, at 70. San francisco, 50s to 60s. With the mission at the mildest, 64. And a little bit breezy here, winds out of the west at 20. And then the north bay returns to the 70s for most of you. 74 in napa. 74 in ukiah. My extended forecast, dry, over the next seven day, in San Francisco, and 60s, and for the inland valleys, were going up to 86 on friday. Thats the warmest day. But we hold with these 80s, all the way into next monday. Now, one thing i do want to show you real fast here, is our fire danger, not extremely high right now, but once we hit july, that is when parts of the north bay will see some increased and above normal fire risk. So right now, i think we can enjoy the sunshine at least kind of guiltfree at least at this point, you guys, so well have more coming up at 6 00 p. M. And one great side note to that, is with all of the shelter at home, and all of the gyms are closed, youre looking to exercise outside and were looking for sunshine. For sure. Up next, we have more on how a group of men in the south bay are helping the community. Teammates help each other find a way to win, just like covered california helps you find Health Insurance you can afford. The answer for the as and giants here in the bay area might be whats happening overseas with baseball over there. Lets start with taiwan, and south korea. Now the Prime Minister of south korea gave the goahead for the countrys top pro league, no fans but the players are back on the field. In fact, opening day for them, their season begins on may 1st. So there are some positive signs there. However, we should note though, baseball in japan, they tried but there is a second wave of infections in japan. I chatted with the giants executive, he says they are close and they are watching what is happening overseas with these other leagues. Heres something good. When a local trails and park does open, theres one trail in the south bay, thats looking really sharp. Lets take you there. Its three creeks trail in willow glenn.
