Now now the selloff [ applause ] wasnt due entirely to coronavirus. It was also due in large part to war over oil prices launched by saudi arabia still, a l o understandably worried and while theres no reason to panic, governments across the world are taking extreme measures to mitigate the outbreak over the weekend, italy put millions of people on lockdown in regions hit hardest by the outbreak where people were rushing to catch the last trains leaving milan before the lockdown took effect officials in italy putting 16 Million People on lockdown. Now, thats a quarter of a countrys population video shows people rushing to catch the last train as it left northern italy seth this is what italians look like when theyre rushing [ laughter ] obviously [ cheers and applause i mean, obviously in italy, to run for a train is a fate worse than death [ laughter ] im shocked they didnt have cigarettes in one hand and aperol spritzes in the other i mean, if youve ever been to italy, you know that for italians, what you just saw there is defcon one. I mean, in italy, stores just close in the afternoon so people can nap. And planes just take off whenever they want at the rome airport, most departure times say, it leaves when it leaves, capisce . [ laughter ] and here in the u. S. , new york, the state with the most cases is currently taking its own precautions to deal with the coronavirus. Governor andrew cuomo declared a state of emergency as the number of cases rises to over 100, with thousands more being asked to selfquarantine. And on sunday, cuomo offered this advice to new yorkers taking the subway. If you can move to a train car that is not as dense [ laughter ] if you see a packed train car, [ light laughter ] seth im sorry did you think people were er every train car is packed. [ cheers and applause excuse me, what . So sorry where are the less dense train cars thats why those showtime subway dancers learned how to hang upside down from the roof, so they could fit on to a packed car. [ laughter ] as a general rule, anytime you see a subway car that isnt packed, that means one of two things either its 4 00 a. M. On a tuesday or someone did something unspeakable. [ laughter ] oh look honey this ones almost empty oh, that smell oh, my god. [ laughter ] now, theres no reason to panic. In fact as bad as things seem, there are reasons for optimism china and south korea have seen slowdowns in new cases and people in areas affected by the outbreak have been making the best of the situation. For example, in wuhan, china, the epicenter of the outbreak, students whove been on lockdown were assigned homework through an app until they figured out a way to get out of it in lockdown, wuhan teachers used an app called dingtalk to set up homework kids realized if it got enough onestar reviews, it would be removed from the app store [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause thousands of reviews flooded in. And dingtalks rating fell from 4. 9 to 1. 4 overnight that is amazing. Although, i will say although, it is a bummer for the people who built that app. [ laughter ] i mean, you conceive of an app, you develop it, you go through rounds and rounds of beta testing, you finally have a successful launch and then this brings it down [ light laughter ] hey, what happened to that app of yours . Oh, a bunch of dickhead kids onestarred me. [ laughter ] well, you made a homework app so maybe youre the dickhead. [ laughter and applause but honestly, maybe we should put these kids in charge of the Coronavirus Response because while they were out there coming up with ways to shut down apps, the most powerful man in the world was visiting cdc headquarters in atlanta on friday in a hat and windbreaker, looking not like a man steady at the helm of a crisis, but like a hungover Little League umpire [ laughter ] [ applause ] seriously, man, what is this look you are inside are you expecting a thunderstorm [ laughter ] i heard this was a laboratory and as everyone knows, laboratories run on lightning because thats how they invented frankenstein. [ laughter ] and as countries across the world were testing tens of thousands of people a day and taking extreme measures to mitigate the outbreak, our president was at the cdc talking about how he was getting his information not from doctors but from his favorite channel, fox news as of the time i left the plane with you, we had 240 cases, thats at least what was on a very fine network known as fox news. Seth why are you getting your information about how many cases there are from fox news . [ laughter ] youre at the cdc. [ applause ] you are surrounded you are currently surrounded by doctors. Just turn around and ask one of them doctor, give it to me straight. Did you see me on hannity last night . Was i good . Kind of terrifying that in the middle of a Global Pandemic, trump is getting his information from fox news because at the same time trump is listening to fox, Public Health officials are worried about making him angry by telling the truth for example, politico reported that Public Health groups are hoping to convey factual information to americans without antagonizing trump theyre afraid of antagonizing trump. That is insane president the way a mailman talks about a rottweiler, which makes sense because trump always looks like hes about to bite an intruder on the ass. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause and you can tell that the cult of personality that insulates trump from dissent is having an impact because trump appointees keep going out of their way to compliment him in situations where its totally unnecessary, from the health secretary, to the head of the cdc, to the Surgeon General just yesterday on cnn thank you, mr. President , for gathering your Public Health experts here today and for your strong leadership in keeping america safe i want to thank you for your decisive leadership in helping us put Public Health first we want to make sure folks that are out there who are at risk, theyre taking extra precautions. But speaking of being at risk, the president , he sleeps less than i do. And hes healthier than what i am seth no, hes not. Theres no way hes healthier than you are i mean, look at him. He doesnt even know the difference between inside and outside. I mean, id expect him to bring an umbrella but he doesnt know how to use one [ laughter ] [ applause ] trump is desperately, desperately trying to paint a rosy picture to help both his political fortunes and the economy, which he sees as crucial to his reelection. For example, on friday, trump actually admitted that he wanted to keep people trapped on a cruise ship where passengers and crews were diagnosed with coronavirus, rather than bringing them onto the u. S. Mainland because it would increase the number of coronavirus cases in the u. S. And that would make him look bad. I mean, frankly, if it were up to me, i would be inclined to say leave everybody on the ship for a period of time and use the ship as your base. But a lot of people would rather do it a different way, they would rather quarantine people when they do that, our numbers are going to go up okay, our numbers are going to go up. Id rather have the people stay, but id go with them i told them to make the final decision i would rather because i like the numbers being where they are. I dont need to have the numbers double because of one ship seth im sorry, but keeping people trapped on a cruise ship even if they dont have coronavirus should be an impeachable offense, because nothing good ever happens on a cruise ship. [ applause ] you never, never once have heard a positive news story about a cruise ship. You never read the headline, cruise ships toilets work great. [ laughter ] this is yet another reminder that trump is a lifelong scam artist who is constantly running a con and trying to bs his way out of that con. Its obvious he doesnt have a plan for anything other than his own self preservation for example, theres been a major delay in Testing Capacity due to cdc errors which experts have called a national disgrace. Last week the white house said it would fail to meet its goal of providing enough coronavirus test kits for one Million People by the end of the week and Vice President mike pence said they wont have enough tests to meet demand then out of nowhere, during his visit to the cdc on friday, trump not only said everyone could get a test, he said the tests were perfect and for some reason compared them to his infamous phone call with the president of ukraine you know, the one that got him impeached. Anybody that wants a test can get a test anybody that needs a test gets a test theyre there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful. Anybody that needs a test gets a test but anybody that needs a test can have a test. Theyre all set. They have them out there and the tests are all perfect, like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect. Seth anyone who needs a test gets the test. I need a test. Not you. [ laughter ] youre comparing the tests for a Global Pandemic to the thing that got you impeached thats not a good comparison thats like borrowing your friends kia and saying, this reminds me a lot of my last car, the one i totaled after driving it straight into a wendys. [ light laughter ] what were seeing now is what happens when a lifelong scam artist has to manage a major Public Health crisis trump has always been able to bs and threaten and litigate his way out of accountability and avoid consequences and now, as he oversees the governments response to a global Public Health emergency, hes trying to do the same thing. And its worth remembering that trumps scams didnt just include a fake charity or a Scam University he also ran a scam health care company. The daily beast reports today on the vitamin selling venture launched in 2009 by a Company Called the trump network. It was a multilevel marketing scheme along the lines of amway or mary kay. The scheme peddled a number of diet products and sham nutritional supplements, including a supposedly customized vitamin regime requiring users to send in a urine sample packed inside a very classy special trump branded box. According to harvard doctor and supplement expert interviewed by the daily beast, the process is, quote, a scam. And for 140 you can send in your urine and get a tailored version of vitamins, none of which was proven by science, by the way. And they would be delivered to you. And youd pay, you know, 70 a month, every month, to increase your health. W you tailor vitamins for someone based on their urine you dont want like a cheek swab or a blood sample . That should be a red flag right away that would be like if you signed up for 23andme and in order to give you your Family History they made you [ bleep ] in a paper bag. [ laughter ] so thats the guy overseeing the governments response to a Global Pandemic that threatens to overwhelm the u. S. Healthcare system and just as he lied about his scam vitamin kits, hes trying to lie about the coronavirus outbreak here he is on friday justifying his lies by claiming he has a natural ability for dealing with this kind of thing you know, my uncle, hes a great person he was at m. I. T. He taught at m. I. T. For, i think, a Record Number of years. He was a great super genius, dr. John trump i like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that i understand it. Every one of these doctors said, how do you know so much about this . Maybe i have a natural ability maybe i should have done that instead of running for president. Seth yes yes, you should have [ applause ] you should have applied to medical school and you should have filmed the reactions of the faculty of that medical School Reading your application. And you should have posted that on tiktok and gotten one trillion views [ light laughter ] seriously, you think instead of running for president at age 70, you should have become a doctor instead . The only white coat you should be wearing is a straitjacket [ laughter ] also there is no way im sorry, but there is [ cheers and applause there is no way a doctor said the words how do you know so much about this stuff . [ light laughter ] i mean, maybe, maybe one of them said it sarcastically, like, you said, i hear the coronavirus will go away when it gets less cloudy. And they said, oh man, how do you know so much about this stuff . [ laughter ] also you think you know about science because your uncle was a doctor people dont just automatically know what their uncles know. Otherwise we would all know the [ laughter ] this is what happens when you put a lifelong con artist and pathological liar with zero intellectual curiosity in charge of the government. When an emergency comes along, he doesnt care about solving it he just wants to bs his way through it and now hes actively making the situation worse. The president is a deluded idiot who thinks hes a super genius. Seth this has been a closer look. Also, be sure to check him out on the new guy show over at siriusxms tom petty radio Steve Ferrone, everybody [ cheers and applause thank you so much for being here, steve. Our first guest tonight hosts deadline white house weekdays at 4 00 p. M. On msnbc. She joins Brian Williams and Rachel Maddow tomorrow at 7 00 p. M. For a special decisions 2020 democratic primary coverage please welcome back to the show nicolle wallace, everyone. [ cheers and applause seth how are you im great seth welcome back. Well, thanks for having me back seth i want to get right into it. You were an actual Communications Director at a white house. Not a celebrated one at that. But seth no. Well, we didnt realize at the time you didnt know how good you had it seth how important it was to have communications directed yeah. [ light laughter ] seth you worked in the bush white house. And now you are seeing this white house, which is not i would Say Communications is not its strength to be fair, they have very few strengths. [ laughter ] but what do you feel at a time like this when messaging is so important . How do you perceive whats happening right now . So this is one of those things that i wish we were wrong about, people who are critical and who see the flaws. This is one of those ones wherea miracle is going to take corona away, thats like the one in a million things where im like, ooh, i wish he were right. Seth yeah. But the and look, here is the other thing. I mean, we have a Global Pandemic and hes, liar, liar, pants on fire president who saw this coming i mean, this was where it was always going to land seth right we were always going to need him to have more credibility on the world stage, to level with us and to be more competent than he is when our health and our familys health was on the line. And sadly, it took Something Like this i think to even shake the confidence of some members of his base. A virus doesnt have a political affiliation. Seth i guess time will tell if it actually is shaking the confidence of his base because it is interesting. Certainly in the early stages, we are seeing very smart people, very talented people who are trying to deal with this crisis who are, as we pointed out, also trying to do this sort of triangulation of also figuring out how not to offend him. Are you surprised when you see oh, the dear leader stuff seth yeah, when you see brilliant doctors who are making the choice to say, like, and also, let me just say you are doin where that chip comes from i mean, i think its part of the reward structure and hes very, you know, off with your head, anyone that doesnt tell him hes brilliant. But, i mean, you cover the same stories i do every day the things people say to him, especially when the Public Safety is on the line, are really, really troubling seth you obviously went through some crises in your time as a Communications Director each is different. How did you deal with the ones that you faced in your time in the white house . We were ready for the bird flu, that was the pandemic that we were prepared for and people like to joke that bush wasnt steeped in history but he read every he was reading books about the plague we were all given sort of take home reading about how things spread we were drilling on saturdays and sundays, red teams and blue teams for how something would, you know, go from city to city and you look at the way this white house communicates, its all about goosing the stock market seth yeah. I mean, no one even seems to have in mind, i dont you know, if youve got kids in school and you go to work, you rely on sort of the infrastructure and the trustworthy flow of information to make decisions about how to keep your family safe. And thats where i think if this goes on, no one is again, the coronavirus is not Donald Trumps fault but everything hes done in exaggerating about the status of tests and lying about its severity and saying it will just go away, thats all on him seth well, we talked about this as well [ applause ] the idea that its not his fault, right, that it started, but if it had started under obama, donald trump would be the guy on fox friends saying it was his fault. He was. Seth it was obamas fault. During during seth yeah. Ebola, he was on twitter everyday seth right saying, you know, keep them all out, lock the borders. I mean, during ebola, he did more fearmongering than anyone seth i feel like somebody should go to him and say, hey, you dont have to do this because youre donald trump. And theres not another one out there like you out there right now. [ light laughter ] i feel like someone seth youre safe. Should go and say, look, weve had to take down the comps. The wifi is out. Seth yeah. And youre going to have three weeks to golf, no twitter. And his Approval Rating would go up seth yeah. [ laughter ] he cant wed be safer [ applause ] seth but he couldnt he couldnt stay out wed be safer seth yeah. His Approval Rating would go up the doctors could function without, as you said, the, you know seth yeah. Intermittent dear leader, youre so good at seth yeah. Science baloney. [ light laughter ] and and we would have a direct line of communication from real experts. Seth but there are busy things going on. Sometimes and look, i think people should if people want to play tennis, they should be able to play tennis. I feel very strongly about this. But on, i guess it was thursday of last week, our first lady, in the middle of a pandemic, posted a photo about how the tennis pavilion is going. As someone who is in communications, do you think this is a good time to give the people of america an update on the pavilion [ laughter ] um, let me see. No [ laughter ] seth yeah. Are you are you kind of shock proof at this point when you see something . No, no. I keep waiting for that. Seth yeah. Like every morning, i wake up, were getting older so i feel achy. And then, im like, am i past the point where he can gall me . Seth yeah. And i never am. Seth and you could still get galled i turn on morning joe and im like shouting at the tv like a lunatic. And if i didnt have my show, i would be that person yelling the news on seth its nice, yeah when i have when i have a hiatus, i just mutter to myself. Its very helpful. [ laughter ] i do, i do. Im in the dog park yelling, like, yo, pence isnt any better. And theyre like [ laughter ] seth lady, come on also, you need a dog to be here. [ laughter ] you you get to cover so we have another night of primaries tomorrow how have you found, because those are long nights. I think we have six. Is it six tomorrow oh, dont tell me they didnt tell me. Seth yeah. Yes, theres six contests seth six contests. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seth how do you how have you found getting through the primary . Have you changed the way you go about it . Well, so, i slid from impeachment, which was, you know, six to eight hours of covering that, right into the they didnt tell me it was one day. It was impeachment, and, oh, you have to stay late. Weve gotta so we eased right into that. Rachel maddow said to me last week, you know, ive noticed in all these nights that everything you eat is in pellet form. Its either its like a kibble its either a skittle or a seed or, you, know seth yeah. That i dont eat anything. So so, you know, the greatest impact is probably on the lack of a wellrounded diet but what an exciting election. I mean, this has not been what anyone thought it would be seth no. Its i mean, heaven forbid, we should have anything that goes the way we wanted or [ laughter ] you know, the way we wanted. The way we think. Seth the way you think its going to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seth you know it is predictions are dead. Seth just one thing. Yeah yeah. Seth predictions are dead all over predictions are dead. Seth you your First Communications job was for the oakland as into this job, you did not you were not a baseball fan . My job with the oakland as . Seth gotcha. And so, this is part of my sort of life as the forrest gump of pr. I ended up helping the oakland as it was my first job out of college. And it was the year of the players strike. And so, i was its maybe where i first got to practice, you know, the art of spin. Seth yeah. I was writing press releases about the replacement players and how great they were. They were going to be just as good as the regular players. And this might be how i ended up seth yeah. Spinning for republicans. Seth yeah. Theyre just as good as the other guy. [ laughter ] but it wasnt you know and and i mean, thats another its so funny, the volume of news in every corner you know, baseballs had a big a big year too. [ laughter ] seth yes there are times that i think, certain people working for certain teams right now be like, man, what i wouldnt give for a job in the white house [ laughter ] seems like these things are calm. they should do collaborate. Right . Seth yeah, they should collaborate. Hey, thanks so much for being here thanks so much for having me. Seth its always great to see you. Have fun tomorrow night. Because i have stuff going on so i cant be doing all my stuff and then call you, and you just sitting there waiting for me seth yeah. Thats too much [ light laughter ] seth you so you if you were with a guy, you wouldnt want him texting you, like, hey, whats going on . No i mean, he can text me, but it needs to be, like, you know, he has to have something going on he has to have something to do seth right because, otherwise, its just like codependent. And hes going to start asking me for money because he knows i got it seth yeah, yeah, yeah. [ laughter ] its too much seth yeah, yeah, yeah. [ cheers and applause [ laughter ] you wouldnt if he called you and was like, hey, i dropped the remote under the couch and then when i went to get it i got stuck and i need you to come home. Thats bad [ laughter ] id say, what are you doing in my house . [ laughter ] shouldnt be there seth you all this time also, congrats we were talking backstage, hustlers, yeah. Seth fantastic film. Oh, thank you seth congratulations on that and then, also making music. You had a song yes, virgo tendencies. Seth virgo tendencies. And wait a minute, i heard youre not youre not into astrology, man seth no, i am not. [ laughter ] but, i heard seth you heard if i did my research correct, youre a capricorn seth i am a capricorn. Were a Perfect Match, baby [ cheers and applause seth we are a Perfect Match . Everyone knows virgo and capricorn is the Perfect Match in astrology seth really . And i mean, i feel like it would be a great moment for you. You know, i did virgo tendencies. You should go ahead and do capricorn tendencies. Seth like as a song . It would be epic, man seth oh, wow [ laughter ] i can see it. Seth i can i can maybe see it, but nobody would want to hear it. [ laughter ] have you always liked astrology . I love astrology, yeah. Seth okay. Yeah, i dont know. I guess its i dont mean to sound so typically millennial. But, i mean, yeah, i think astrology is really cool do you guys like it . Seth thats all right. [ cheers and applause so, like, my favorite seth this is by the way, when you said typically and millennial, this just shows how little, i guess i know about millennials. Because i thought astrology was something 80 yearolds cared about. [ laughter ] well, you know, it was like, in the 70s and it made a comeback seth it made a comeback . Yeah. Seth okay, see, i missed the comeback i was in that gap between the 70s and today [ laughter ] so, what tell me some things about a virgo i should know. Oh, okay. Virgos, first of all, i mean, im going to just name a few folks, you do what you want with it beyonce. Seth okay. Michael jackson seth okay. Mother teresa on the spiritual tip. Seth gotcha. [ laughter ] [ cheers ] i mean, weve got some strong people seth yeah. Heavy hitters, ill say that. And then of course, keke palmer. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] but, the thing about virgos is were very particular, perfectionist kind of people seth okay. You know, were very much into our work. We can be a bit of workaholics a little bit neurotic sometimes. You know, worrisome kind of people, but also very loving and loyal. Seth oh, my goodness these are all fantastic things any virgos in the house [ cheers and applause seth virgos now wally, put your hand down [ laughter ] so happy to be a virgo oh, my gosh seth hey, its always so wonderful to see you here. [ cheers and applause seth our next guest is an entrepreneur, founder and ceo of the lifestyle brand fubu and one of the stars of shark tank, which airs friday nights on abc. His new book powershift transform any situation, close any deal and achieve any outcome, is available march 10th please welcome to the show, daymond john [ cheers and applause seth welcome to the show daymond. How are you doing seth im doing really good youve had an incredible career. And i think, early on in a career, especially an entrepreneur, you have to come up with unique ways to get your product out there. Yeah. Seth and one thing you did early on with fubu is you would give it to security guards i would give it just big black guys seth okay. Yeah. [ light laughter ] seth so, explain explain why that was your idea and why it worked so well. I had to build influence in the neighborhood and if i went over to ll cool j or run dmc, everybody was approaching those guys they didnt want to wear it. If i tried to put it on the cool kids with the funny mustaches and tight jeans, they would wear it on one time the big guys, they didnt have anything to wear that was fashionable, either white shirts, or black shirts or cost a lot of money for them to get something custom but once i gave it to them, they would wear it ten times a month if they felt fashionable and after a year those guys were in front of all the red ropes. They were in front of all the stages they were all the bodyguards some of the rappers would say to me, what am i, chopped liver . Right . Seth yeah. Because i was giving it and i was surrounding them with the logo they started to get used to it and then big guys felt important because they would say, you want one of these shirts ill hook you up with the little guy with the shirts. [ laughter ] so i built up influence in it. And thats how i finally got a lot of the big rappers to wear the clothes. Seth and you talk about negotiation and relationships are very important is that something you cracked early on no, not really. I didnt realize the value of it until later on in my life when i realized what i was doing when i was trying to add more value people think negotiation is really just transactional, and its not its, what can i do for you whats in your way to not get this accomplished . And some of this stuff is some of this stuff that you wouldnt believe that people really want, but youre so busy trying to get out whats on your mind and what you need that you dont listen to other people seth so you think being a listener is one of the most important things youve learned . Absolutely. You know, listen, i mean, theres an old saying, but its really important, a lot of people screw up negotiations because they keep telling you this, i need a job. I need this, i need an investment. But theres a really great saying, 20 of the people dont care about your problems the other 80 are really happy that you have them, right . So make sure you dont tell everybody your damn problems i got my own problems. Seth and then obviously, shark tank is a show that is a great deal of listening. Mark burnett found you for this show because you were on the kardashians a couple of times i was managing the kardashians. I mean, managing seth im sorry it didnt work out placement in their shows. Seth yeah, yeah. Right and they said, well, you cant do any other show but ours. And then Khloe Kardashian found out i was going to turn down shark tank because i was working with the girls and she fired me i got fired. Seth as a favor . As a favor. Seth yeah. And now kris jenner is in my in my new book and i had talked to her about how i was placing stuff in videos and she went and took to a whole other level on social media and all this new stuff that was coming around. Seth and bombas socks was is that a company that you found via shark tank . Yes . Bombas socks was on shark tank. And its a number one invested product in shark tank history. Seth wow so that show and my other sharks thank you. [ cheers and applause thank you. I invested in it so it proves that my other sharks are underachievers and [ laughter ] when you see them, just make sure seth yeah. You remind them of that i said that on national television, didnt i seth yeah, absolutely. [ laughter ] fifth book right here. Fifth book, yes powershift. Seth you talk about explain what you mean by a powershift. So a powershift is a not a negotiation directly at that time you have to build influence, then you have to negotiate like we were just talking about and then you have to really value that relationship. You get way more out of that and thats whether youre trying to get a job, or trying to get the Remote Control away from your significant other or trying to get an investment but people think its purely just that one time of the negotiation. So, if you meet me in the elevator and you spend 90 seconds with me, you tell me a little bit about yourself, you could have time to build influence. But im going back out of the elevator and im looking on my social media platform to see what youve been doing and what influence youve built over the course of the last ten years and thats when im making a decision if im going to call you or not seth thats fantastic. You is this something thats entrepreneurs spirit was this something you had at a very young age do you think the people around you would have said that this was a path they predicted . Well, yeah, i was doing this since six years old. [ laughter ] and i almost had a business at six years old, maybe ten years old. Seth what was your sixyearold business . When i was six years old, i was in first grade and i realized when the boys liked the girls, you know, how theyre showing, theyre trying to knock their teeth out, right seth yeah. So, i figured i got theres got to be a way i can make a profit off this [ laughter ] so i would scrape the paint off the pencils and paint the names of all the prettiest girls in schools on the pencils and id say to the guys, you just buy this box of pencils from me, you can sit with the girls at lunch and give them all the pencils and get to talk to them. Then the boys would try to knock my teeth out [ laughter ] but then i found out about this word called vanity i found out the girls would pay two times the amount of money for the same exact pencils with their names on it. [ laughter ] so i started selling the pencils to the girls seth thats fantastic. You cut out the middleman. Exactly [ laughter ] and by the way, i was stealing the pencils from the guys. So, my cost of goods was zero. Seth oh, my goodness [ laughter ] fantastic. I was leveraging. Seth you got a foothold early on, leveraging hey man, thanks so much for being here [ applause ] its so great to talk to you thank you for having me seth i really appreciate it. [ cheers and applause thats daymond john, everybody powershift is available tomorrow well be right back. [ cheers and applause 58 million latinos live in the United States. [ cheers and applause seth my thanks to nicolle wallace, keke palmer, daymond john [ cheers andfeone, and of cours the 8g band. Stay tuned for lilly singh. Well see you tomorrow [ cheers and applause [ cheers and applause [ cheers and applause [ cheers and applause [ cheers and applause lilly tonight on a little late with lily singh, im gonna talk about one of my least favorite things on earth, heels. When i first heard jayz rap about a girl with red bottoms, i just assumed he meant her period [ laughter ] im gonna make celebrities instagram captions more relatable. When you claimed you were too sick for work and your bff starts filming you for instagram. [ laughter ] then im gonna sit down with the one, the only wendi mclendoncovey [ cheers and applause is it scientifically proven to help no. [ laughter ] but on amazon it had a good rating [ laughter ] lilly we will push the limits of what you can and cannot say on tv bow job. [ bleep [ laughter ] wendi, were you surprised about what we cant say on tv . Hell, yes lilly all righty, then well be back in one minute. [ cheers and applause daniel ladies and gentlemen, please make some noise for your host tonight, lily singh lilly whats up . Whats up . Whats up . Thank you so much. Thank you. Please have a seat have a seat. Welcome to a little late with lilly singh. How you feeling . [ cheers and applause thank you being here now im feeling very comfortable tonight, and it has a lot to do with the shoes ive got on [ cheers and applause if im not wearing sneakers, youll probably catch me wearing slippers [ laughter ] thats how i know id never play cinderella [ laughter ] if a prince ever showed up to me like, oh, you lost your heel, id be like, i left it there on purpose. [ laughter ] because if you dont already know i do not mess with heels. Ladies, can i get i mean, heels are not the one for me [ cheers and applause one of the most annoying things ive had to deal with is men complaining to me that their dress shoes hurt [ laughter ] im like, cool, cool, cool. Yeah, now take the pain youre feeling and then put it at a 45 degree angle for 3 hours. [ laughter and applause and then try walking in the grass in your stilettos. [ laughter ] and then go to a beach wedding [ laughter ] and then oh, would you look at that. The elevators broken. Guess you gotta take the stairs. [ laughter ] shut up. But its a huge problem, and it has been for a while you know, the first record of a woman wearing highheeled shoes dates all the way back to the 16th century and im sure her blisters will be healed any day now. [ laughter ] heels were originally invented for people who rode horses to help their feet stay in the strops wle theyre riding, they wouldnt fall you know what this tells me . That heels were made for sitting, not walking [ laughter ] [ cheers ] but lets be honest, sex sells and in hollywood, heels equal sex. [ cheers ] remember how in jurassic world, Bryce Dallas Howard spent the entire movie running away from dinosaurs in high heels . [ laughter ] totally realistic. Yeah, because when dinosaurs are on the loose, the most important thing to make sure is your calves looked toned. Mmhmm mmhmm [ laughter ] now personally, ive never been a fan of heels i knew so little about fashion growing up that when i first heard jayz rap about a girl with red bottoms, i just assumed he meant her period. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause once this is a true story its pretty lame, but its true. Once i actually injured a tendon in my foot while trying to wear heels. Yeah [ laughter ] and i dont exercise so thats the only sports injury im ever gonna have. [ laughter ] and i try to act cool like, yeah, no. I really messed up my foot bad [ light laughter ] what was i what was i playing . Oh, i was playing into societal pressure. [ laughter and applause wheres the lie . Where is the lie and i cant even stand still through a photoshoot in heels. You got women like jlo or beyonce can dance on stage in stilettos for two hours. [ laughter ] yeah, i mean that is the one only singular difference between is three [ laughter ] other than that, the three of us are totally same you know [ laughter ] now if love wearing heels, dont let me stop you. Okay, if youre a woman who wears heels to the club, good for you. I support that decision now and six hours from now when you take them off and walk home drunk in barefoot [ laughter ] you know and i know some women wears heels in bedroom [ indiscernible [ laughter ] but thats not for me. If i wanted to be uncomfortable in bed, id just keep the lights on [ audience oohs [ laughter ] [ applause ] because i hate heels, a lot of people automatically assume that im a sneaker head, and they try to talk to me about it, but i actually dont know anything about sneaker culture. [ laughter ] i turn into that one kid in school, you know, you the one who pretended like he saw a movie, but he only quoted the trailer. You know the kid im talking about. They were like, oh, yeah. I loved spiderman. Especially, the part where the guy says coming this summer. [ laughter ] but im still fascinated by sneaker culture. I mean, sneaker heads love shoes so much, theyll stand for days outside of shoe stores just to get limited editions do you ever see them lined up on the sides . [ cheers ] i mean, take note, if you want to get young people to vote, just put the voting booths right next to the yeezys, yall. [ cheers and applause come
