Someone on the Assembly Line who spoke to us on coitioof anonymity and we altered his voice. I wouldnt be here if it were my honest choice. The almeda county Sheriffs Office told tesla and ceo elon musk earlier in the week that only essential employees should be going to work because of coronavirus concerns. They are Still Producing cars, and we are still advising them that they need to go to basic minimal operations. The Assembly Line worker said, in his opinion, tesla is putting profits before health. Ive got managers and supervisors coming out and talking within two to three feet of my face, and then turning around and telling people to keep distance from one another. Its quite unsettling. In a situation where obviously were dealing with a virus, where were very concerned about the spread of the virus. Hoping the coronavirus doesnt hit the places theyre camped out in. Homeless advocates say its critical to get People Living on the street to safer spaces, as soon as possible. Time is of the essence. And the more we do now, the more we can protect people. Two Oakland Hotels have been leased by the state, for 2. 1 million a month. But the county says it would take them days, maybe weeks to get them staffed for movein. They say medical and Mental Health staff would be needed, and thats just the start. We need to set up security. We need to establish laundry facilities. The ability to feed. And to take care of those who will be residing at the hotels. Almeda county says late today, the state decided to take over, saying they need the homeless to start moving in within 72 hours. Homeless advocates say they hope the operations start as soon as possible. They believe lives are on the line. The county says those most at risk will get first dibs. The seniors are definitely a priority, as well as those who have compromised immune systems, those at higher risk for serious complications, from the coronavirus. We have heard all of the rules but are we taking them to heart . Stay at home, social distancing, we have more from the embarcadero and people are Milling Around taking a walk. You can see the difference out here compared to a regular door. There just arent that many people out here. And to be clear, the city is saying it is okay to get outside and get some exercise. But you just dont want to do that that in a group and you want to maintain that social distance. We checked around today, and a lot of people seem to really be taking that to heart, but not everyone. Plaza kept the regular hours, and tables filled with what we usually see, fruit and vegetables from across our california farms, and the city declared Farmers Markets are essential services, under our shelter in place order. Now, for shoppers and vendors leery of Big Grocery Stores and big crowds, the Farmers Market was a welcome change. Its part of the essential services because everybody has a right to have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. On a daily basis. Which is nearly impossible to do that at the Grocery Stores as im sure youre aware of. And it keeps us away from the canned goods as well. The market eliminated samples and put out hand sanitizing stations. It will continue the regular hours as we usually see it on wednesdays and sundays. Reporter raj, we went for a week or so, and trying to weigh were where to bring isabella hoemg home and at what point from san diego and originally scheduled thursday, to fly home and all of a sudden at the last second, we decided to do a game time decision to head down there and go get her and we did that yesterday and we got in the car at 7 30 in the morning yesterday. It was a full sevenhour trip, an went there quickly, seven hours to get there, as soon as we got to dorm, we started packing away right away, getting her stuff all organized and getting it into bags and two hours later, we were literally back on the road again, for another seven hours. So we did a full 16hour roundtrip there, and it was kind of eerie in her dorm because a lot of the kids had already left and there were notes that had been posted, saying that the kids needed to be out by today, at 7 00, because the dorms were being closed. So you know, we felt good about the fact that we were able to go get her and bring her back, but what a way to end your freshman year, halfway through, with, you know, such a strange circumstance to be in. Some of the logistics, je ka, that a lot of people are asking, does your daughter and other kids, do they get credit back for leaving the dorms . And what about the units and classes, are they still going to get their units that they should be earning this semester . So theyre going to continue to study online. Most of the teachers have already gotten in touch with them and told them exactly what they have to do. Theyre already doing most of their work online, trying to keep to the same schedule of classes they had before and we have been told by the university that we will get partial reimbursement for the months that theyre not in there and for the meal plan as well but its a lot for the kmoofuniverso deal with as well and some of the kids who couldnt go home, they were moved to another facility and not being kept in the regular dorm. Jestion ka, well see you at 6 00, lets bring it back here in the studio and bring in our chief meteorologist and were still with janelle here, talking about the weather and were talking about the kids and what did you do with your young daughter . Did you get outside . We played twister. It was raining and then we did go outside when the sun came out. When we drove into work today, it was raining again. Lingering showers. Lets check in with our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri, a good time to get the board games out and put the Electronic Devices aside and give yourself a break from looking at those and you can see here in the Doppler Radar and satellite, spotty areas of rain, continuing across the bay area, and nothing too heavy and enough to keep the roadways sick, essentials, and maybe you need to head to the pharmacy, and you can see here down in the south bay, we have some showers over the Santa Cruz Mountains and that would keep it wet here in santa clara through 5 39 and 6 02, milipitas, to the east bay, and more showers for pleasanton and livermore, the next 30 to 45 minutes and on to the north bay, some spotty activity around san anselmo, novato, to the east. And showers into vallejo at 5 50 tonight. This is part of the same storm system that brought the heavier rain this past weekend. It is so slow moving. For the next 24 hours, because of that slow movement, well keep the chance of spotty rain in the forecast for tomorrow. So just be ready for that, if youre already trying to plan out, what you might be wanting to do for tomorrow, and in your front or backyard, if youre already looking to get out early tomorrow to get fresh air and do some meditating, some exercising and maybe go for a jog and temperatures will be cold, upper 30s, to low 40s to start for the south bay peninsula and the trivalley. 41 in the east bay. San francisco, 42 and the north bay, 38. Were not going to warm up a whole lot tomorrow with the spotty shower chance, you can see its not much rain through 5 00 p. M. Tomorrow but hit and miss activity from the north bay to the south bay. So the temperatures tomorrow, at this point, will be staying in the 50s, to low 60s, for the south bay. And 60 in san jose. And 58 in los gatos. Right over to the east bay, low 60s here for concord, livermore and pleasanton, and also oakland, 62, peninsula, 58, in san mateo, and 59 redwood city. 57 for the mission. And for the north bay, 59 in clear lake. And 61 in novato. My extended forecast shows that we will, yes, get a break, friday, and saturday, by sunday, monday, tuesday, an wednesday, some more rain chances move back in, no big storms right now but were going to continue to monitor that, and fort inland valleys, nice weather coming by, saturday, up to 70 degrees, so were warming up and getting some sunshine in here for you and a little bit of a break for us.
