So when all is said and done, will these passengers be reimbursed . Today we asked consumer investigator chris chmura to go and find out. Chris . Reporter good evening. It appears refunds are on the way. In fact, princess told us it will give passengers their money back and more. Heres what princess said today, that it is going to refund the full cruise fare for all guests, including air travel, hotel, ground transportation, prepaid shore excursions, gratuities, and other items. In addition to those refunds, the company says it is also going to provide guests with a future cruise credit equal to the cruise fare paid. These steps are a big departure from the cruise lines 10,000word passenger contract. It gives princess the right to deviate from the scheduled route, change port of embarkation, disembarkation, substitute transportation. In many cases, the contract says passengers get nothing in compensation when they do all that. Princess said its making an exception here due to the extraordinary circumstances. Now, if you have a cruise coming up, understand that some lines are offering exceptions, but that flexibility is not at all universal. Theyre still making casebycase decisions and you might have to appeal to get them to come around. If that doesnt work, maybe we can help. Go to nbcbayarea. Com responds or call us 888996tips. Our twitter page is a really good resource for updates. We tweeted out this map tonight tracking bay area cases county by county. Our handle, nbc bay area. Lets bring in meteorologist jeff ranieri. Weve seen the temperature start to take a dip. A little bit of sunshine today, though. Rm warmer tomorrow. Rain chances moving back in this week. We have a lot to follow you as we start you off on that microclimate forecast. We do want to let you know that storm system we had been mentioning all week long last week for this week, well, it is here. But as mentioned, this could take two different paths. Right now its headed more off to the south, which would bring highest rain chances to southern california. But for us we still could get a little bit from this. You can see on storm ranger mobile Doppler Radar down here in los angeles, its our second one here in california, is picking up some moderate, even a few heavier pockets from l. A. Down towards san diego. But for us, cloud cover and some spotty showers moving close. You can see just how near it is. A little bit of rain there over monterey and starting to move near morgan hill and also gilroy. So i do think with the storm positioned as it is, we could definitely have some spotty shower chances into tomorrow morning. South bay, peninsula, and well even keep that chance as we head through tomorrow afternoon and evening. I still think this model is overdoing it just a little bit, at least the rain modeling here. But definitely expect a chance here of some spotty rain through tomorrow and youll be ahead of the game. As we start off here with your forecast, temperatures in the upper 40s and lee 50s. A little bit of sun and clouds as well. 47 in the east bay. San francisco 49, and a cool 47 in the north bay. With that system to ourself, its going to help to bring up some warmer air from the south. So numbers actually going back into the 70s here across the south bay tomorrow. 70 in san jose. To the east bay. 72 degrees pleasanton. 71 outside in oakland. 70 degrees, the peninsula. 70 in palo alto. San mateo, 67. San francisco, just a little bit of a wind out of the northwest at 8. And 62 for the marina. And right here through wine country, napa, sonoma, low 70s tomorrow. Theres a lot happening as we head throughout this week. Lets get to that sevenday forecast. Were going to keep that 55 of a spotty shower tomorrow. 50 chance on wednesday. Dry thursday and friday. Then by saturday night, i see a spotty chance of a shower moving in. But the best chance of measurable rainfall this week comes on sunday. 0. 05 to a quarter inch possible. Low snow, maybe down to 2,000 feet for the bay area elevations. Then by monday, some spotty showers. Look at the difference here for the inland valleys. 70s for the workweek, down to 50s this upcoming weekend with chances of rain primarily on sunday. If youre headed to the sierra, severe snow possible on sunday. One to three feet is possible. I keep hitting on that because if that forecast stays in place, its going to be hard to go anywhere on sundays forecast right now.
