At sfo, Health Screenings begin saturday when the first direct flight from wuhan arrives. In the pligflight arrives, er connecting or nonstop passengers from wuhan would be diversitied to a separate area inside the customs facility where they would go through this interview and screening process. Reporter 45 cases of the virus have been reported with two deaths. This is a virus that affects the lungs, so it sounds a little bit like influenza. I think it should be done because the communication of the whole world, and we should take that measure to prohibit the disease. We have one confirmed fatality and we have another victim with serious injuries. Reporter rescue teams responded immediately but were unable to save 34yearold cole comstock. Comstocks wife posted on social media just yesterday how much she loved him. Now lets go play in the snow, she wrote. Its really sad. That could be anybody. Reporter the Avalanche Warning Center forecasted todays avalanche risk as considerable. If youre out there wanting to get, like, fresh runs and theres always the risk, you know, if its deep snow. Reporter well, raj, bay area skiers who are headed to the slopes tell me that they are excited about this long weekend, but those who heard about the avalanche say that theyll be taking precautions on the slopes. As we head into this threeday weekend for a lot of people, we are expecting dry conditions right up here across lake tahoe. But as we have been warning you, watch out for any kind of avalanche signs. Please stay away from any of those posted areas. Head in the other direction. By tuesday, two to four inches expected at 5,000 feet and above. Right now dry wednesday, thursday, and friday. Thats your sierra forecast. Back here in the bay area, got to bundle up tomorrow morning. Look at this. Back down into the 30s. Not only in the north bay for the east bay, 35. San jose, 37. Even the chance of some morning fog. Well start off cold, and its not going to be as simple as sunny weather all weekend long. Sergio, a scary situation for those Church Members for sure. Reporter yeah. San mateo county sheriffs deputies say Paul Michaelson hand delivered several notes to the church here over the last week. So when Church Members were looking at Security Camera video, they were surprised that they saw someone they recognized. Outside Holy Trinity Lutheran Church tonight, San Mateo County sheriffs patrol cars, members and neighbors say theyre concerned for their safety. Everybodys scared. They dont want their kids to come. My friends daughter, shes supposed to light the candles this weekend. Shes like, no, im not even going to participate in that. Reporter detectives say 79yearold Paul Michaelson sent several disturbing letters to the church threatening to shoot members of the congregation where hes a former member. Hes also a current outreach pastor at the nearby Hope Evangelical Church in san mateo. We are saddened and we are in shock about what has happened. And we are praying for paul. Reporter this is a photo one of michaelsons neighbors shared of deputies taking him into custody last night. The neighbor said they arrived with assault rifles and body armor. Our detectives went out to his house and did a search of his property and possessions and cars and he was not found to be in possession of any guns, nor did he have any guns registered to him. Reporter michaelson has been released on bond. I talked briefly with him by phone but he didnt answer any questions. Tonight a locksmith changed the locks at holy trinity. They want to make members feel more at ease. Were doing everything in our power right now to just, you know, make sure our congregation is safe. Reporter the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department will be posting deputies at the Church Sunday just as a precaution. Now, investigators have not said why or who he was aiming those letters at. The stanford daily newspaper reports that student was a sophomore and Palo Alto Police found him this morning at the theta delta kai fraternity house. No evidence of foul play and no word yet of the cause. We have just learned the identity of a person killed in a hitandrun in oakland today. Myisha simton from san leandro. Police say someone driving a White Nissan Maxima hit her and drove off. This happened at 98th near carter park just west of the oakland zoo. When police got to the area, singleton had already died. The former mayor of new york was in oakland where he caught up with mayor libby schaaf. The two worked together on a Climate Change panel that they served on for mayors years ago. Protesters crashed the party saying the google village will push out working class people from san jose. A cell phone tower perched on a Church Steeple is not sitting well with the congregation in san jose. Parents and parishioners from st. Christopher has been a place of worship for 65 years. Now churchgoers and parents on the School Grounds are praying the cellular station on the steeple comes down. Until the evidence is established that cell tower radiation isnt harmful for our children, cell towers like the one there should be removed. Reporter the diocese started leasing space on its steeple to a Cellular Company back in 1999. It wasds recently upgraded to 4g technology which parishioners fear could be emitting more radiation. One mom decided she couldnt risk her Daughters Health who was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. We spoke with the mom on the phone. I will never take a chance with my child, just a minor chance of health concerns. So within one day, we made the decision to pull her from the school. Reporter Gina Rodriguez says four other parents did the same. In a statement, the diocese says the health and safety of parents, children, and parishioners are its top priority. The diocese said it established a task force of medical and Technology Experts to study the parents concerns and will hold a Community Meeting next week to release the results. But parents feel the results will undoubtedly favor the diocese and nothing will change. I dont understand why the diocese would put profits over the safety of our children. New at 11 00 tonight, a Bay Area High School student is facing serious charges after a brazen beating on campus. The victim, another student but a parent and a mother of three. Maria Guadalupe Jimenez held a News Conference to talk about the assault at James Logan High School in union city earlier this month. She and her husband came to school to report that her daughter was being bullied. She says she was attacked by two girls who allegedly didnt stop kicking, punching her even after she lost consciousness. In addition to the responsibility of the minors involved for what they did to maria, we are also concerned about the conduct of the school and their lack of keeping people safe on their campus. Police have charged one student with battery and serious bodily injury. The school is not commenting. An Elementary School in pacifica looked more like a kiddie pool after it was hit by the storms. Tonight that cleanup is under way. Check it out. Ocean shore school yesterday in the midst of that storm. A hallway with a canal with kidding waddling through the water with their galoshes. Today workers tried to dry it out. Not clear when the school will reopen but luckily monday is a holiday so they have an extra day to try to get rid of all that water. The north bay at 35. Well start with some cloud cover, and the thing about tomorrow, its going to be that in and out cloud cover. Well get some breaks of sunshine at times. Then, okay, here we go again. More cloud cover starts to return. You can see at 1 00 in the afternoon, well likely see some sun for the north bay and also the south bay. Clouds will linger over the east bay and the peninsula. Then by 3 30 in the afternoon we get more of that high overcast returning. So not the sunniest of weekends, especially on sunday. Cloud cover really starts to roll back in. Youll probably think its going to rain. Theres going to be so much cloud cover moving across the bay area. But, again, dry weather expected as we head throughout the next three days. So our forecast as we move through tomorrow with the gray skies at times. Well have 59 down here in morgan hill. 55 in milpitas. 56 in los gatos. 57 in hayward. 55 in pleasanton. Closer to the water, 56 in san mateo. 55 in palo alto. You see where were going with this. Numbers really dont change much as you head around the bay area. 55 in the mission and also 53 in the marina. Across the north bay, 59 in napa. Down to mill valley, 54. Right up to ukiah, 56 degrees. My extended forecast. Dry weather again as we head through the next three days. That goes for the tahoe region. So if youre headed up towards squaw valley or Alpine Meadows, it is open. There was that avalanche earlier today. Avalanche warning signs may be posted, so you do want to certainly Pay Attention to those. Currently they have 205 trails and 24 runs. As we take you into that sevenday forecast, we have overcast skies coming in sunday for that 49ers game. Then eventually some rain by tuesday. About a quarter to a half inch possible. Then dry weather once we hit wednesday, thursday, and also on fridays forecast. Inland valleys we have you in those cold 30s tomorrow morning. Then we get a little bit warmer for the Morning Hours on sunday and monday morning. We get that rain chance once again on tuesday. Then after this, it looks like we could get some additional rain chances as we head into the following weekend.
