Were told by kris sanchez who is north of hamilton in that stretch between hamilton and 280 that stretch is a deadly crash and were told one lane currently open at the scene to alleviate the backup there. I would avoid north 17 through that stretch and take bascom or winchester which are good alternates. Remember the surface streets and a lot of signals so allow the extra time traveling up toward 280. We do have live pictures. Kris sanchez was getting more information from the chp and wet get that from her shortly. Were looking at the flatbed tow truck that loaded one of the vehicles. I believe this is the where the wrongway driver was killed. Well get more detail from kris recording that and progress made out of highway 17 through campbell. The rest of the bay pretty calm. And today beautiful as we see temperatures warming up and then getting a look at how much snow we measured going into the next couple of days. Now we are once again going to see the storm system that we saw in the satellite moving closer. But as it gets to the bay area, that rain will dry up. But we will see some clouds moving in throughout the weekend. And so were going to keep it dry here. And even heading into the holiday, Martin Luther king jr. Day, well see a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the low 60s, next chance of rain on tuesday and scattered showers across the bay area. Mike, are we seeing any progress for highway 17. That is right. Were looking at someone approaching our shot and more crews arriving trying to get what weve been covering since the beginning of the show. I see two getting by where kris sanchez continues to cover this from the area in through campbell. Lets take a look at the campbell the 17 camera as well. We see headlights trickling through the area north over 280. Now that is on the map. The jam north of hamilton are where the deadly crash happened this morning and clearing the roadway there. Also the investigation which has to continue. So coming up from the Santa Cruz Mountains, youre fine over 85, jamming up approaching hamilton. If you are in campbell, take bascom or winchester past the scene and jump on 280 farther north. Allow extra time because there are surface streets with signals. Be careful as we have issues.
