Pg e said the plan would allow it to pay the victims and meet all the requirements of ab1054, the new state bill regulating public yutilities. The governor said the plan didnt focus on providing safe and reliable power. Thats the key there. Tonights decision is a major setback for pg e, as it races to meet a june deadline to get out of bankruptcy. In a statement, pg e says in part we just spoke with senator jerry hill. He said the governor made the right decision. Its the same old pg e, and we will not stand for that. He recognizes the problem, he recognizes that if we do not see the change thats necessary for pg e, through this bankruptcy, we will one, be back into bankruptcy in the next five to ten years, and two, we will not have a safe utility. Senator hill has been a longtime critic of pg e. He says the best outcome for pg e to make victims whole and protect rate payers going forward. Police say the man punched a woman in the face when she found him in her apartment. He managed to come here and thats where the standoff took place. You can see he was constantly struggling with his pants, trying to keep them from falling. He ran into this construction site before soon. Workers tell us they didnt know who he was. Police say now that he is in custody, hes going to be going through a psychological evaluatio evaluation. It looks like students at Gilroy High School wont be punished with saturday school. This comes after a threat of a school shooting. Just five months after the garlic festival shooting, a threat against gilroy high was posted on wednesday. The school said extra officers would be on campus, even though police did not consider it a credible threat. Hundreds of families decided to keep their kids home. They later found out the absence would be considered unexcused. Parents felt they were being punished. The district said they decided late today to convert those absences to excused. A man is in jail after police say he tried to assault the mayor of martinez. He says the man approached him outside of his office on main street and grabbed him. The man claimed he was making a citizens arrest. A Good Samaritan saw what was happening and pulled the mayor to safety. Thankful for his actions. A dogs group and others filed a lawsuit claiming there are two areas where the Golden Gate National Recreation Area wants to restrict access for people with dogs. Even if the showers arent showing up on the radar, just below the radar beam, going to be some fog and some misty skies. You can see how the bands keep passing through the bay area. That in a nutshell is the saturday forecast. Morning temperatures at least for now with the clouds and the moisture in the air will be in the 40s. By sunday nights, well see 30s returning to the bay area. Watch out for light rain, patchy fog and then well see highs running cooler tomorrow. Upper 50s and likely dropping to mid 50s for highs on sunday. So rain estimates between now and 11 00 tomorrow night. Again, nothing too heavy, but most of the bay area seeing a quarter inch or less. Passing showers around the south bay through the morning. Might see a brief midday break, and just like we saw today as we head towards tomorrow evening, more rain will come back in, and heres the important part of the forecast for sunday.
