Thats actually a meteorological term, because we saw the intensification of this storm, the low pressure dropped 24 millibars in 24 hours so thats the measure of the strength of the low pressure, and so it rapidly intensified as it moved closer to the bay area. Right now were still seeing this storm rolling through with lots of lightning this morning and thats what well have to watch for as we go throughout the day. Right now just waves of showers moving through, every now and then weve seen some lightning strikes. Storm ranger tracking it from san bruno mountain, some of the heaviest rain is moving through the peninsula, but were also seeing some spotty showers and snow in parts of the north bay for the upper elevations. We have some rain approaching vallejo right now but really heavy rain moving through San Francisco, crossing the bay bridge and over seeing some of that heavy rain thats just moved through millbrae, right now just off to the east, crossing the bay, and then also for south San Francisco. Heres whats coming our way for the rest of the day, were going to see some breaks in the rain, some off and on showers and also some low elevation snow for spots like mt. Hamilton, possibly mt. Diablo but especially those interior north bay mountains, were going to see rain and snow continuing throughout the day. All of this starts to wind down later this evening and well be tracking our next storm. Hec river that could come in late saturday night into sunday, and its going to bring in more rain. As far as what well see the rest of today, not a whole lot here, maybe another quarter of an inch, but as we head toward the weekend were going to see the next storm coming in, look at those rainfall totals anywhere from one to possibly three and a half, maybe even four inches of rain, between saturday night and monday, so this is going to be an even bigger storm than what were dealing with right now, and then for the sierra, we talked about this, that next storm coming in will bring in additional snowfall totals on top of the two to three feet that we could see day, another four feet possible, so thats going to be crazy going into these next few days but the good news is that we have a break tomorrow for the turkey trot, were looking good. Its going to be cool with temperatures in the upper 40s, some mid50s for shopping on friday, as well as Small Business saturday. Well see some of those showers moving through during the evening, and then well be in and out of the rain through early next week, and mike, weather is really going to slow people down this morning.
