It is a house they had rented through hair bnb and they werent the homeowners and they averaged the party on social media and over 100 people showed up and around 10 50 someone started shooting. A number of people were hit. Three people died here at the scene. A fourth person died at the hospital. Several more people were taken to the hospital either by ambulance or by their friends. They got there on their own. Witnesses told cheryl hurd last night that many attendees are from lany college in oakland and a farther who lives nearby with his wife and kids said a number of neighbors were upset beforehand before the shooting because party was so loud, when the shooting happened he locked the doors to his house and hunkered down. Everybody moved to orinda for the same reason, because we want the quiet, we want the familyoriented neighborhood so this type of things jars everybody out here. Reporter weve asked lawmaker about the shooter but they wont confirm if a suspect is arrested or still outstanding. A source tells us that the people who rented the airbnb lied to them and the owner and their excuse was they wanted to get out of the fire with a Family Member with bad asthma. It all started at around 6 45 this morning when a chp officer dealing with a traffic stop on the westbound lanes heard a gunshot and then saw gunfire between two people in two cars in the eastbound lanes near the toll plaza. The officer said a black male adult and a compact silver suv shot at someone in a small black car and that officer could not make immediate pursuit after the suspect because they were again on the west side of the traffic making that traffic stop. By 7 00 all eastbound lanes were shut down and the commuter who agreed to talk to us by phone said people were getting out of cars and watching the sunrise to watch the traffic get moving and he assumed it was a multicar accident before we broke the news to him. That is very sad. That is an investigation. That definitely warrants stopping things and looking into it. Because it did seem like it was taking a lot longer than if it was a accident to get the cars out of the way and let traffic resume. Reporter chp was able to open some lanes at about 7 20 and all lanes were open at quarter after 58. The small black car that was shot at was located.
