Those flames have scorched more than 4300 acres and only 5 contained. 40,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders at this point. We also know overnight that the flames jumped the 14 freeway sending embers into several parts of santa claritate say th and wind gusts are making it a difficult battle. And our Microclimate Weather Team all staffed up and working all weekend long. Kari hall is tracking the conditions. And i know the wind gusts are a big problem in the north bay yesterday and today the wind may cause some air quality issues. Yes. Now were seeing the snow drifting in and the kincade fire is still burning and not very much containment. So the smoke lifting in the air and shifting in Different Directions as were seeing a shift in the winds. It is mostly clear live in walnut creek but well see changes through the day and as we look at San Francisco and the east bay, the smoke starting to make it in. And some thicker smoke as well moving into the peninsula later on this afternoon. In the south bay, the smoke between 4 00 and 10 00 this evening. So here is what is going on. Well see our winds coming in from the north. It is only a light wind so well see it take its time traveling across the bay area. But once it moves in, well be choked out with the smoke with a light wind that wont allow to mix out of the lowlying valleys into tonight and as well as tomorrow. Meantime we have really hot temperatures. Look at how it is going to be throughout the day. Reaching 89 in napa. 90 in santa rosa. And still low 90s for the inland east bay. San francisco will also warm up with highs today reaching the mid80s. And then we turn our attention to the high fire danger for the weekend. Well have a fire weathat bay a mostly elevations above 1,000 feet will have another fire danger from saturday night through monday as another high wind event moves in. The director of the county Public Health Department Just held a News Conference to warn people, especially the most vulnerable among us, to be prepared for this weekends potential pg e power outages. Now if you are not aware, take a look at your tv screen. Starting tomorrow evening, pg e is expected to shut off power throughout parts of the entire bay area. You could see on the map provided by the utility, the yellow blobs indicate areas where the lights could go out. We are talking about large chunks of the south bay, the peninsula, north bay, east bay. The Health Department is urging people who rely on powered medical devices to plan ahead. You want to check withou prover to be prepared. Make sure you have batteries. And if possible move in with a friend or relative who will not be losing power. Isict has issuea spare the air day because of the kincade fire in sonoma. Smoke is expected to drift south over the entire bay area. This could be a problem for the elderly, Young Children and people with chronic lung diseases. So, again, the Health Department is asking you to limit your time outside. No vigorous exercise. Set up a clean room in your house if you want to, you seal off that room and install an air purifier to keep the air clean and also if you are driving, set your car air conditioning to recirculate. People are heading to the local Hardware Store to buy the n95 masks and the Health Department tells u solution for everything. You are better off staying inside. If you need to be outside, then the caveats and that is are no sizes tt fit childrens faces. And they wont work if you have facial not really the answer. Reporter the Health Department tells us that the government and pg e have provided them with a list of people who rely on lifesaving medical devices, lifeventilators to breathe and the Health Department is reaching out in case they have a plan b. If they are in the outage area on the map. They are urging people with medical devices to move in with a friend or relative who is not losing electricity. Now San Jose Police are trying to find out who the baby is and how it got there. Nbc bay areas kris sanchez joining us live in san jose. And you were one of the first if not the first reporter there this morning. At this point, do we know how the baby died . Reporter you know, marcus, we dont know how they died. We dont know if the baby was already dead when it was dumped in that recycling bin that ended up here at the recycling facility and we dont know where in Santa Clara County the baby came you from but it was a difficult day for the worker who found the baby mixed with the recyclables this morning. Discovered by the worker who was sorting through the trash of repsychables on a conveyer belt here near oakland road. A coroner tries to figure out how the baby died, detectives are trying to pinpoint where the county the baby was dumped. They serve palo alto and the southern part of Santa Clara County so it is a very wide area. We ask greenway how the employee who found the baby is doing this morning . We havent gotten an answer from them. But San Jose Police spokesperson said it had to be rough both for that employee and for the responding officers who are parents and parentstobe themselves. It was an employee at green waste that discovered the infant on the conveyer belt and coy only imagine they are going through a difficult time right now and the First Responders who responded to the scene. And 69 in santa rosa. So were seeing some of our temperatures really heating up. Were heading into the upper 80s and low 90s today. The sevenday forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen as we check out our highs for today. Reaching 91 in concord. And 89 today in palo alto. Going through the forecast, well see quite a few changes going into the weekend. We are expecting a damaging wind event. A high wind watch has been issued and then well see as we go into saturday night and sunday, some of our mountains and hills could see those peak wind gusts at 65 to 75 Miles Per Hour. For the valleys and the coast, we could see gusts up to about 45. So here is what were expecting. Our winds will pick up on saturday night. 20 to 40 Miles Per Hour gusts in ie valleys. Thenowinds this strong could bring down trees and cause some damage. So you do want to make sure that you spend a little time outside out around the yard on the patio. Youre tieing down the Patio Furniture and moving around those things that may get shifted and thrown around in the wind and clean up as we get ready for the high wind event. Today our winds are still going to start out blowing the smoke off shore but then well see the smoke starting to move in as our winds shift from the northwest, mostly at 10 to 15 Miles Per Hour. Staying fairly light tomorrow as well. So well still be very warm and smokey. And then well startse early on sunday morning. Starting in the north bay as we see those winds in clear le at 48 Miles Per Hour at also for t valleys as we are going to see our winds picking up quite a bit going into the end of theend. So it is high winds, welittle s across the bay area. So well be watching out for that high fire danger but were also noticing how much cooler it will be as that cold front moves through, we go from 90 to 75 on sunday. And breezy on monday but calming down. Mid70s for the start of next week. San francisco mid80s today. And then dropping into the upper 60s by this sunday.
