So far today some of the longest dras are upwards of three and a half hours. Of course thats not the worst of it because theres been quite a few Flight Cancellations as well. Starting today, the airport closed runway 28 l and started the 20day project to lay down a new base layer upon a 1,900 foot stretch of the runway. Because the stretch intersecretaries with two other runways. Crews are will alternate the runways cutting takeoffs and landings in half. 28 l has been showing stress the last years. A large pot hole formed in april. The major carriers have been trying to get passengers to other hubs. And pairing down the flights to sfo but passengers are still feeling the pinch. Dozens of flights have been cancelled and even more delayed. I have live in oregon and my flight the closest airport is eugene oregon. It was cancelled. I had to travel two hours north of where i lived. And then that flight was delayed. And that landed and now i hope the next flight will playbook it to chicago. United, Alaska Airlines and air canada have been waiving flight change fees so passengers can rebook itineraries to avoid sfo.
