Our temperatures drop down to the lower 60s this morning, and then start to rise, well be at 73 degrees at 10 00, some upper 70s by 11 00, and our south bay high temperatures headed up to 89 in downtown san jose. East san jose 93 degrees. Well get a look at all of our microclimates coming up and mike, you already have a crash and some slowing. We do, a crash and slowing may be eindependent of one another. Over here out of the altamont a little slowing and a crash reported at north flynn. The slowing should be because of the construction crew which is clearing now. Mild slowing, and then the crash at north flynn, there may be another around greenville, not sure of the details. Sounds similar, so well call it one crash for now. There may be another crash over toward the bay bridge, although this is not what is making the slowdown. The slowdown is because we dont have all the cash lanes are open. This morning, witnesses say the driver then took off running. Today in the bays roz plater is live along moor park and saratoga. Is everyone okay . Reporter one person was taken to the hospital. This was a mangled mess. Some of the cars are still out here. The mercedes they swiped off the mirror and did denting and damage but just ahead of it here, this ford suv is a mangled mess, the back of it twisted. Thats going to require a lot of work and well see whether or not it is able to be salvaged. Lets show you pictures from just after this happened. This went down just before 11 00 last night in the 3900 block of moor a trucra street here. Some had extensive damage from that. So loud at first he thought a vehicle struck his Apartment Building but the truck wound up flipped over completely upside down. We came out on our balcony, saw a bunch of lights out. We walked out here and theres just like seven cars that were just hit and a couple of them just they were hit pretty bad. Reporter that witness told us he saw one person taken to the hospital. We dont know the extent of the injuries. We also dont know what happened to that driver that witnesses say they saw took off running. For now, we are trying to get more information from police about this and about the cause and why it may have happened. As soon as we get more information, well pass it along. Also developing this morning in shasta county, firefighters appear to be making headway on a wildfire threatening homes near lake shasta. This started yesterday morning about 15 miles north of redding. Hundreds of people spent a long night evacuating. Reporter power is expected to be restored sometime this morning. So far, the fire has burned over 800 acres, threatening 1,000 homes. We met up with a family from san ramon who lost their home to fire a decade ago. They found themselves running from fire again here in shasta county. It is kind of scary, yeah, because it looked to be heading our way. When that fire was going, the wind was blowing pretty good, from the fire, towards our house, so we were kind of nervous about that. I was upset at the beginning but im a lot calmer now, knowing that my house is Still Standing, unlike our house in san ramon, its Still Standing and everything will be there when we get there. East bay high temperatures in the mid90s, matching where we were yesterday, pleasanton up to 95 degrees. Oakland reaching 80, and for the peninsula, were still going to see the upper 60s at Half Moon Bay and much warmer temperatures as you head over the hills to redwood city and its going to reach up to 74 in the mission district. North bay high temperatures in the upper 90s for ukiah, novato up to 88 degrees. So still a wide range in temperatures as High Pressure remains over the region. Its giving us not much of a wind, but we are at times still seeing the coastal fog, so were not seeing the coastal areas heat up as much. Going into the end of the weekend it just stays hot as we continue on, so why not find somewhere to cool off. But we will still have some hot weather in our forecast, some low 90s inland for today as well as tomorrow and then hotter on sunday, reaching 96 degrees, but temperatures peak on monday, 97, and then start to come back down just a little bit more the middle of next week. We found it, scott in our Operations Center found the flashing lights and then they just left i think because kari was talking about higher temperatures right when she was mentioning the 90s the crews cleared. This is the toll plaza itself and it was the fastrak lanes over off to the left approach now clear across the span. Things are just fine, again at shoulder and theoll plaza withus bit of build, both sets of fastrak lanes cleared, so is the rest of Contra Costa County on the approach out of walnut creek or off the upper east shore freeway. Highway 4 no slowing out of antioch and vasco down toward brentwood and eventually 580 moves smoothly. The crash around 580 still reported, one at grant line road, the other might be closer to North Livermore but out of lanes and we dont see any slowing there. Police now arrested a former coworker in the death of an administrator at fullerton state. That stabbing happened monday morning and wednesday night officers arrested the suspect at his home. Neighbors there say theyre shocked. Its unbelievable to me, because he was such a sweet, friendly man, any time i had anything to do with him, which was very seldom. Police say a backpack was found at the scene belonging to the suspect. So far, theyre not talking about any possible motive. Federal prosecutors are talking more about a massive crackdown targeting dozens of online scammers. 80 people in total face charges. 11 were taken into custody yesterday in the los angeles area, where they say Money Laundering that was centered, it targeted businesses and hacking into their email systems to divert money, online romances and dank accounts are also a focus. Even u. S. Troops were targeted, prosecutors say. No some cases the victims in this case thought they were communicating with u. S. Servicemen stationed overseas, when in fact, they were emailing with conmen. Some of the victims in this case lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in this way.
