Well, another new poll in New Hampshire found that seven of the 2020 candidates are polling at 0 . So we did some digging and it turns out theres a lot of other political polls with some alarming results. Ill show you what i mean. For example, when asked, whats the best president ial ticket to defeat trump . 20 said, biden and kamala. 20 said, bernie and booker. And 60 said hobbs and shaw. Steve ohpe buttigieg in one year . 50 said, still campaigning. The other 50 said, playing Kevin Mccallister in disneys remake of home alone. I have in a couple of weeks, ive got over the course of four days, about 96 hours, i have my wifes birthday, i have a 20year anniversary, i have my moms 85th birthday i have my oldest daughter turning 16 and my youngest daughter turning ten jimmy holy mackerel. Can i borrow some moneyim oh my god. Wow. I know that you have three daughters. We were talking about that you have a beautiful wife backstage. What do they do in the summer . Because theyre 10 and yeah, theyre 10 hold on, theyre 10, 13, 16 there you go and, you know, were busy, its busy times summer running around. Jimmy vacation no, just taking them to activities, museums. A little bit of travel jimmy they dont go to camp or anything . They dont do camp. I in fairness, i made a a terrible mistake regarding camp i told them my own camp story which was a bad move jimmy okay that was a mistake. I told them about i went to this camp tippecumseh in virginia when i was a kid, and, just your [ laughter ] jimmy theres an owl, theres an owl i slightly changed the name to avoid a lawsuit so you did not go to camp tippecumseh. Jimmy no, no, theyre theyre like, i almost went to that place. [ laughter ] dude, no, its actually kind of like one owl was loose and it was like ooh. [ laughter ] it wasnt a fully committed, whoo. It was an animal call jimmy yeah, it was i guess its a camp story, so its fine they probably went to camp so, at any rate, thank you for setting the mood so im at camp tippecumseh and its pretty much a standard camp you know, you go into these little cabins and kids are all you got your friends and meet some other kids and theres always one resident pain in the ass. Jimmy yeah, yeah, yeah a little smart ass, other than me. And there was this kid chizzy and he there was a counselor, a guy named clay whos kind of the, you know, buffed out counselor jimmy now are you changing all the names . No, im not im back on im back on facts. Jimmy so theres two real people named chizzy and clay chizzy and clay were real names. [ laughter ] jimmy wow, id see that movie. Tippecumseh was a slight jimmy fast and the furious, chizzy and clay. [ light laughter ] theyre not getting along theres a lot of antag, thes [ light laughter ] he was that guy. Jimmy i love that guy. You know, yeah. You would like him, you would have fit right into cabin six. [ light laughter ] so were there everybody is doing their thing but i can tell there is a relationship here between these two that is headed for trouble. And the days go by, you do the flag football, capture the flag, and one day, we are doing archery. Clay is teaching us how to shoot bows and arrows. Jimmy sure and chizzy is not around. And clays upset and hes like, has anybody seen him . Hes getting a little worked up and sure enough, about a half mile away, over the ridge comes this little dot of a person and hes screaming, you know, clay, youre an idiot, you know, im going to report you to the counselors. Its little chizzy and hes coming toward us and clay takes a bow from the kid next to him and an arrow jimmy oh, gosh and he pulls it back about as far as he can and he just lets it go and i dont think he was trying to actually i dont think he was trying to do anything. I think he was just trying to send out kind of a warning flare, if you will jimmy yeah, yeah sure, sure, yeah and im only 11 years old and im watching this thing and i dont know anything about aerodynamics but im like, thats got good trajectory [ laughter ] jimmy its got some heat on it and it proceeds to soar through the air and just in one of those moments where the world stops spinning on its axis, the arrow goes through this young mans arm, little chizzy [ audience ohs ] yeah, yeah he pulls up the arm. The arrow has gone through it. He is fine, he is fine the kid is fine but moments later, all the children were collected from camp and that was pretty much the end of my camp experience. [ laughter ] jimmy wow. You totally scared your daughters. Yeah. [ applause ] i dont know that that deserves an applause that is an absolute true story jimmy its a great story but then, you come from hanging with, you know, the events with hanging with chizzy, and you end up being a bigtime actor, and youre in this new film here this is where i segue. [ laughter ] smooth. Jimmy thank you very much. [ laughter ] this is called seamless. Jimmy thank you. Brian banks. Brian banks, the story its a true story. Yeah, it is jimmy tell me who you play in this movie. Its actually an incredible story. Brian banks, who is a football player, hes 16 years old in high school who had pete carroll scouting him. He has an amazing football career ahead of him and was accused of a crime that he didnt commit and the criminal Justice System kind of scooped him up he spent six years in prison its a very rare very rough story. Aldis hodge, who is a wonderful actor plays him in the film and i play Justin Brooks, who is a a reallife guy in fact, both these guys is obviously a a very true story. Brian sought out the help of Justin Brooks who runs the california Innocence Project which is exonerated over 30 people and kind of gotten these people who are in prison, sometimes, 10, 20, 30 years, gotten them out. Jimmy for stuff they didnt do for stuff they didnt do, and not technicality stuff i mean, these are real people who just flat out didnt do it and he you know, brian, who is an incredible advocate for himself and kind of a ere,ery pe person, he wheot ts case overturned and hisam it is an incredible the way that it finishes up is pretty good jimmy wow. [ cheers and applause jimmy our next guest is the creator of two emmynominated shows, killing eve and fleabag. Everyone, please welcomersnd ap jimmy hi, so great to see you. You too jimmy i love you i love having you. Im a big fan. All these emmy nominations i mean, two separate shows i mean, this is unbelievable fleabag, i want to say got 11 nominations and killing eve, nine emmy nominations. Not too shabby at all. Youre the second person ever in the history of television to do be up for outstanding drama and Comedy Series. Thats amazing how does it feel [ cheers and applause i dont know. Thank you. Jimmy what made you come back to do season two . Because you werent going to do that, right . Of fleabag . Yes, i wasnt. And i was very smug about not coming back because i thought i had a lot of artistic integrity in not coming back after the first one. Because the first season had a a proper ending in my mind it was based on a play and it was adapted to the same ending and i wasnt sure that the i felt like in the first season,r. And especially because the camera in the show, fleabag talks to the camera a lot. And that was the relationship that was most important to me. In the beginning, in the first season, by the end, she stops talking to the camera for the final five minutes of the show and i thought, unless i can reinvent a reason for why she talks to the camera again, i cant see how i could justify coming back. Because the whole point in the first one was that she had this front, this persona to the camera, until the secret was revealed and then shes kind of shy and so going back to the Second Season was the same persona, even though they know her dark secret seemed sort of dishonest to the character and so then, when i came up with the trick of another character seeing that she looks at the camera. So thats when the whole thing cracks open again. I inhis seaso by the way yes, i know jimmy which, if youve ever seen fleabag, i go wait, where is the where is the cgi come into fleabag . It was kind of a necessary, little last minute moment, because we had to have a fox in the final episode of the Second Season and i had written this kind of like sexy urban fox character, you know, not thinking that ive got to cast this guy. So thinking this, you know and foxes theyre everywhere in london they come out an night and theyve got a swagger. And you can i mean, they kind of, they own the city at night. And so i had written this fox that comes in, looks at fleabag with this kind of wise look in his eye, then looks down and then fleabag gives him a a line says, he went that way. And then he trots off. And sort of naively, i was like, yeah. Well just, you know, get a couple of real foxes and just give them the notes. [ laughter ] and weve got a really good director and the script is strong you know, theyll be fine. Jimmy fox director yeah yeah, and these two terrified Little Country foxes turned up with their handler, called buttercup and primrose. [ light laughter ] jimmy is that the name of the handler or the name of the foxes . [ laughter ] the handler, brian and terry were foxes no, so primrose and buttercup were the foxes and they turned up and they had never been in a a city before, because theyve been brought up and trained in a sort of, you know, countryside drama school for foxes. [ laughter ] and they and it was a really busy road. And there were like, massive vermin it was in the middle of the night. And there are massive buses going past and so all the crew had to kind of huddle in the corner not to upset the foxes. And they literally came out and they were like, what the hell is this place . Jimmy yeah and the only way to calm them down was to play coldplay [ laughter ] and so the handlers i know, its so bad. The handlers took out little discman, like a cd player, and they were like Everyone Needs to be quiet now. Because buttercup particularly likes this track [ laughter ] so she might come out. But fingers crossed. And then we played, i think it was fix you or yellow. Hicant rememb and the whole crew was standing there like this. [ laughter ] and im at the bus stop going, dont move. And the bus would be like but then eventually, they come out and theyd scrapple around and got a snout in one shot and a bit of the tail in the other as they were running around. U. Jimmy you think. That buttercup hates new environments and that primrose is very nervous around people. So either way were [ bleep ]. [ laughter ] sorry. Probably shouldnt say that. [ laughter ] and so we ended up having to get the cgi foxes. [ cheers and applause and there he was jimmy so when you see that, know that its cgi fox in fleabag season 2 yeah, yeah. Jimmy some of the things in fleabag are based off of things in your life. Semiautobiographical. Theres a book coming out, i just saw somewhere oh. Well, the screenplays are coming out jimmy fun. Ill have check that out which is really great because the stage directions have a lot of you know, they tell a o thiin . There was only yeah, it was in this season, i mean, its very much not autobiographical where occasionally there are little moments that, sometimes id be writing them and ill beik and then i realize i got a a haircut. Theres a haircut in season two and fleabags sister gets a dramatic haircut and i got a dramatic haircut weirdly before i started filming fleabag one. Which is why i have that really short haircut. Otherwise, i never would have had it so i went and got this haircut and i was you know when youre just i dont know if youve ever had this when it gets a little too short and you have a little cry about it jimmy yeah [ light laughter ] oh, yeah sadly, ive had that happen. Yeah and then youre trying to like, pull it to make it grow longer and no one understands. Jimmy no and you feel like its the end of the world jimmy and you go, i have such a big face. Yes [ light laughter ] jimmy why would i think that this haircut would work on my head . Exactly so i had that. And i got home and i had this haircut. And i was like, im gonna start filming in a couple of days and i got this tiny little like, lego hair and i dont know what im doing. [ light laughter ] its like, oh god. And called my sister and i called her and obviously, i was being really overdramatic and i was like [ sobbing and then she picked up the phone and listened to the whole thing and she was like, okay this is really serious im coming over. And it was the sweetest thing. Because she came over it was kind of exciting for her to be like, get over yourself its hair. Itll grow back. But she was like, no, this is a travesty ill be there in 20 minutes. [ laughter ] and theres such a good sister and then she came over, opened the door and was like, its fine its french, its short. And were going to be fine. And then, and so then in the show, that similar thing happens with the sisters and so this is kind of an homage to my fantastic sister.
