Last night the two youngest victims of the gilroy shooting were remembered, Stephen Romero and keyla salah zha. Cheryl hurd has more. Reporter the twins came into this world right here, born onto cement behind a building where no one could see. The 911 call came in a report of a woman and two newborns behind a strip mall. Police officers arrived to find the twins but no sign of the mother. The officer got here, he recognized both infants appeared to be in distress. He started lifesaving efforts with one of the infants and turned care over to our Fire Department and that infant was subsequently transported to a local hospital. Reporter the other infant was already dead. A short time later reports of a woman in bad shape not far away lying on a sidewalk. It is apparent based off her condition she did recently give birth and that female has been taken over to the hospital to be checked on. Reporter the mother was no stranger to the strip mall. The owner of the pizza parlor here had heard about her from his employees. They had seen her the last few weeks. She come in to use the restroom, she was sitting out here and they noticed she was pregnant. Reporter some people say she appeared homeless and at times possibly to be dealing with mental issues. Police will allow the mother to get proper medical care before determining if she will face any charges. Terry mcsweeney, today in the bay. There are safe havens for children out there. A new Yale University study faults san franciscos juul for not informing users about chemicals in its products. Toxic chemicals not listed on its labels could cause lung damage. Its going to be mild at noontime if youre headed out there for lunch and just want to spend some extra time out there just taking in some fresh air and some sunshine. It will be 75 degrees, with some low 80s during the early part of the day. As we check out our high temperature, cupertino headed up to 79 degrees, and then some low 80s for morgan hill today. For the east bay were up to 84 degrees so the temperatures very much like yesterday. Maybe just a couple of degrees warmer in spots like antioch and concord. Were up to 82 today in martinez. For the peninsula, well see a high of 77 in redwood city today and also still really nice in san francisco, still pretty windy though, and for the north bay expect santa rosa to reach up to 81 degrees. Were also up to 81 in napa. A lot of pollen still and its mostly tree pollen. Everything else is low, and so its pretty good though as you get ready to head out and maybe spend some extra time in the comfortable weather. I wanted to show you whats happening out there in the pacific. We have two storms now, erick is a category 4 behind but behind that is flossie a category 1 hurricane. Erick looks to stay south of hawaii but will turn up waves. Flossie is expected to strengthen and move a little bit closer to the big island so that may be an issue for monday into tuesday. Well continue to monitor that. As we look at our forecast here for the inland areas, looking at some low to mid 80s through the end of the week, and then some low 90s for the weekend. Just a slight increase in temperatures, but not heating up too much, and for san francisco, were staying in the 60s, that is the fog and the clouds will linger through the next several days. Westbound 80 to the bay bridge nine minutes and, 92 toward the san mateo bridge 11 minutes. A quick check of your trivalley drive times were starting to see slowing from westbound 84 from vallecitos road to 680. As soon as today, jury deliberations may begin in the ghost ship warehouse fire trial. The defense is wrapping up its closing arguments yesterday. Attorneys accuse prosecutors are using the defendants as scapegoats for parties that brought dozens of people to the warehouse on the night of the fire. Derek almenas attorney urged a jury is not allow their emotions to get in the way of the decision. Coli at the county fair are filing a claim against the fair operator. 2yearold jebediah cabazuela died last month. Two other families who contracted the disease are part of the claim. It says there were no warning at the fairs petting zoo about the possible presence of e. Coli. The claim also alleges handwashing stations were not accessible to kids. 11 confirmed or probable cases of e. Coli have been linked to the San Diego County fairs petting zoo. 4 51 and if President Trump wants to be on californias primary ballot in march, hell have to show his tax forms. Governor newsom signed that requirement into law taking effect immediately. It also pertains to candidates for california governor.
