Busy in the east bay and still pretty busy in the southbound and northbound stretch near the 23rd avenue exit, but its equally busy on the bay bridge toll plaza. The metering lights have been on since 5 20 this morning. Towards the Richmond Bridge, youre looking at nine minutes and westbound 80 towards the bay bridge 16 minutes and aside from that, we do have a couple crashes in the south bay that might slow you down. A look at how the south bay is doing and the rest of the area coming up. Thanks, vianey. Breaking news this morning, two people rescued from a south bay river and now were working to find out their condition. Bob redell live at the scene in south san jose. This happened in the Early Morning hours, bob . Correct during the 1 00 hour at the Guadalupe River. We know one of the people, we believe they are okay, the other person that was taken away unconscious. During the 1 00 hour when San Jose Police were called down here and they found a man in the river and they pulled him out and began to perform cpr. This, again, down this steep embankment. In order to get him out they had to pull him on a rope and when they pulled him to the street level they put him in an ambulan ambulance. The man was unconscious still and paramedics were not performing cpr on him. Not clear if he, in fact, passed away. Police helping another man to climb up the embankment. Not clear what those men were doing down there. If they were homeless or Something Else was going on. We did reach out to San Jose Police to get, again, what the condition of the man who was taken away unconscious. As far as the guadalupe it is calm and not much of a current. The Class Action Lawsuit is on behalf of 34 people who say their waivers were denied or stalled. Now, todays hearing comes following a blow to the Trump Administration on a key immigration issue. You want to find some air conditioning and going to reach into the upper 80s by early afternoon. Up to 91 in los gatos. We still do see a lot of mid90s in the parts of the delta and then to the trivalley and the inland parts of the east bay while oakland today tops out at 79 degrees. We had a big surge in monsoonal moisture that caused some thunderstorms to fire up over the sierra. There will be the slight chance that we could see some of that energy making it into the bay area overnight and into tomorrow morning. Every now and then this happens where we wake up to some thunder, possibly some lightning and maybe even an isolated thunderstorm. So, well see that continuing into tomorrow morning. But then drying out and heating up for the weekend as that High Pressure gets really intense over the desert southwest. Richmond city manager is being fired after less than a year on the job. They voted to end martinezs contract earlier this week. According to east bay times they called for martinezs termination accusing him of unfair practices. Martinez accepts the councils decision but he wont comment on the allegations. Two violent carjacking suspects are in custody after a manhunt put one peninsula neighborhood on lockdown for hours. The arrest happened last night two hours after the Daly City Police officers spotted the men matching the suspects descriptions. The suspects crashed their car during the chase and thats when the suspects took off running. Neighbors in that area were told to shelter in place. The carjacking was a car jacking with a gun. So, we dont know if the suspects fled with that same weapon. We have to assume theyre armed. Police say the initial incident, a driver was struck with a metal object while sitting in his car. This is in the engelside district. One of the suspects then pulled a gun on the victims wife as she tried to help before striking her and stealing her purse. Governor gavin newsom just signed off on a new plan to clean up californias drinking water. The plan redirects state money from a fund designed to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions over the next decade. The Governors Office says more than a Million People in the state dont have access to clean water. It is our first puppy and more than her being expensive or whatever, you know, she has a personality and if he could just give her back. They desperately want their dog back. So, even though we do have a very mild start in spots like brentwood, it will heat up fast and a lot of sunshine. If youre getting out the door at 7 00, its already 71 degrees and then hitting the low 90s today by early afternoon. Lets go through all of our microclimates and a look at our hourbyhour forecast. We take you to 10 00 in napa were at 70 degrees and 72 degrees in fremont. If youre thinking of taking lunch outside and not on the peninsula or in San Francisco, its going to be warming up and you may be wanting to just get that sandwich and go back to the office where you do have some air conditioning. Were reaching into the low 90s in livermore at 4 00 today and in concord 93 degrees and morgan hill 92. We will start to see those temperatures cool down, but it will happen slowly because it is very muggy. Let me show you what happened yesterday. So, across the destert southwest, there were some storms firing up because of that monsoonal moisture and that made it into the sierra.
