Treatment of migrants at the border. The group marching down Market Street led by members of the Jewish Community and allies unhappy with the conditions at the border, the separation of family and lack of resources being provided and they feel the Detention Centers are modern day concentration camps and want Speaker Pelosi to do away it and abolish immigration and Customs Enforcement as well. I raised to say never again and in thinking about the holocaust and i have the opportunity as a jew to be a voice for the people that are in need of it. The conditions are unfortunate. Children have died and as jews we talk every day, every year, about this kind of treatment. Cant stand for it. For someone with so much power, we want to hold her responsible and the whole democratic party, to represent our values and this is fourth of july so i feel like this is a patriotic act to hold the country to its standard. Reporter the House Speaker did get the funding bill for reorganizatio reorganization for the support but some in the party were not happy with the bill, expressing concern about giving funding to the Trump Administration to keep Holding Families in detention. Now the bill doesnt change Immigration Law and there is no funding for the president s border wall in that bill. And now folks out here this morn rg unhappy with the bill and they plan to take action on the issue until something changes. In San Francisco, pete suratos, nbc bay area news. New at 11 00, President Trump said hes looking at issuing an executive order to add the Citizenship Question to the 2020 census which, as you know, was already rejected by the u. S. Supreme court. Could also add an addition on to start the printing now and maybe do an addendum after we get a positive decision. So were working on a lot of things, including an executive order. Here is the thing, such a move by the president directing the Census Bureau to include the president could prompt a new round of lawsuits from civil Rights Groups who sued to block the question. This is as justice lawyers are scrambling to meet the Court Deadline to come up for a legal pathway for including that question. And a developing story, the shaking is far from over in Southern California. After yesterdays 6. 4 magnitude earthquake in mojave desert. If your heading out around the trivalley, checking out the Alameda County fair, it is going to reach into the mid80s. So a little bit warmer than yesterday. But we do still have the nice cooldown for the evening right at around sunset were in the low 70s and by the time the fireworks start there tonight it will be 66 degrees. After reaching our high temperatures today, near 90 degrees in antioch, youll feel the difference compared to yesterday. With ukiah reaching 93 degrees. Up to 88 in santa rosa and San Francisco. Ill talk about that and also some weekend events as you try to make plans, that is coming up in the full microclimate forecast. This raging fire overnight that damaged the the East San Jose home may have been sparked by illegal fireworks. Roz platter is live in san jose with what folks saw before the flames. Hi there, roz. Reporter how are you . Good morning. Ill step out of the way to you so look at the aftermath, this car damaged, one of the cars damaged. Another on the other side, you could see the charred trees. What is most stunning is how it all seemed to be contained into this small area here and it actually was so close, very close to one of the homes here. Now lets show you the video. It shows a dramatic scene just before 11 00 last night, bright red flames shooting into the night as the eucalyptus trees in this yard burned, in the 1800 block of yut court in san jose. The kids were seen lighting fireworks and the man saw the fire and did grab the water hose and sprayed his work but it was the quick work of the firefighters that saved the homes. If the Fire Department not coming, that is it. I dont know what would happen here. A couple of houses might have maybe more. I dont know. You never know. But that is fire is so huge. And it can and so windy, too. Reporter now it was also busy fight for fire crews in contra costa county. Firefighters responded to 37 fires in six hours, were told one of the fires in martinez was due to fireworks as were five others. And then over to east oakland, a lot of illegal fireworks over the night making it a very long and noisy night for folks who live in that area. Now back here in san jose, the good thing about all of this, nobody here was injured. The folks who live in thisome were not home at the time. Were were told police are investigating and nobody held right now accountable for all of this. For now live in san jose, im roz plater, nbc bay area news. What a scary night for those folks. And if youve seen or happened to see a blue helicopter flying through the skies over places known for high fire danger, well we may have an answer as to why this is happening. Pg e right now is rolling out a new Fire Prevention program in the bay area locations including the oakland hills. Hightech helicopters are inspecting thousands of power lines looking for trees and branches that may potentially spark wildfires. The latest phase of the expanded pg e Fire Prevention effort and this week the flyover activity is ramping up in this part of california. Looking live now at sfo where sunday is expected to be one of the busiest days to fly this year. But it is rideshare traffic into and around sfo that has folks feeling less than festive this holiday weekend. Today the airport is opening a new lot where uber and lyft drivers can wait for passengers without creating congestion in millbrae and burlingame. That is the idea. This is the new staging area. North of the airport. Near san bruno exit off highway 101. The idea is for rideshare drivers to wait here or in the other two stages lots to the south instead of circling the terminal or surrounding communities and then when a passenger calls for a ride the driver can meet them at the new pickup area on the rooftop of the parking garage which opened a month ago replacing curbside pickup. Airport management and a driver we talked with seemed to think this is a good fix. They start in one of the staging lots, and they wait for a customer to request them and then when they get that request, that is when they enter into the new pickup area at the center of the garage on the fifth floor. I think it is wonderful. Share riding is here and found and it is a good idea to work with drivers so we dont have to break the law or get a stupid ticket. Being honest there. And the new ride share policy does not effect curb b side dropoff, only pickup and it does not affect if you are traveling internationally.
