By the end of the week, roughly 150 dogs will be moved into a warehouse to be quarantined. The number could rise because of the upcoming holiday. On the fourth of july particularly in oakland, there is a lot of noise and a lot of fireworks and scared animals, cats and dogs coming to the shelter and they get spooked. Dogs that come in have to get quarantined because they will be exposed. Dog flu can be treated with very ro antibiotics. There is a vaccine, but it takes four weeks to kick in.
