They are wonderful people. Sweet family. Very, very sad for everybody. The family and our neighbors. Reporter this woman watched her grow up on this culdesac. Very happy. She was very outgoing. They always had fun outside playing. Reporter she graduated from College Park High school in 2011. She was a varsity Soccer Player and a Police Explorer before transferring to sacramento state. She also studied elsewhere. She was just doing her job. Unfortunately, she passed away. Reporter the shocking loss hit close to home for students there. Its a real tragedy. Reporter this officers life ended just as her career was beginning. She graduated from the Police Academy in december. Too bad it had to end so quickly. How about bathrooms 24 7 . Public bathrooms opened and staffed. One of the newer pit stop rest rooms. The idea is to give people a clean, safe place to use the bathroom. One supervisor believes that people should have access even overnight. The city has agreed to try it this summer on one pit stop bathroom. Around the clock access to the public bathroom is coming for a threemonth pilot program. Its only open about seven hours a day. They close it down. It will be open and available. Reporter this is a supervisors district. They have a problem with human feces, using the bathroom on the sidewalk and street. Thats happening at night. Reporter San Francisco streets have been headlines over piles of needles and human waste. The mayor wanted to expand the pit stop some of the folks who are living on our streets, but this is for everyone. This is for people coming out of a bar. This might be people who are Walking Around at night or who are tourists. Reporter it stopped in 2014. Five years later, there are 25 in the city. All are staffed. They arent open all night. Then after he was handcuffed, officers held him on the floor by kneeling on his back. To the point where he said, i cant breathe. It was undeniable. He needed help. It was ignored. He needed a hero. There were no heroes in that room. Reporter if a person says, i cant breathe, you check them. They didnt check him. It was totally avoidable. He suffocated. He says he talked to the jury after the verdict. I think the jury wanted to tell this particular Police Department they need to change. Minutes ago, the city sent us a statement saying that while the death was unfortunate, the jury did not determine the officers caused his death. The city believes the judge may toss out the verdict. Another person said the same man threw an object at another man. Police arrested him on several charges.
