Officials are stressing this is not an act of terror. They are trying to figure out why the pilot was in airspace over new york city thats supposed to be off limits. Reporter investigators are pouring over the roof of this 54story skyscraper in the heart of new york city. Hunting for clues into what may have caused mondays deadly Helicopter Crash. We have what appears to be a helicopter that crashed into the roof. The helicopter is on fire. Reporter the chopper pilot, timothy mccormack, who was flying alone was killed. A senior Law Enforcement official telling nbc news that they believe this video shows the chopper flying erratically moments before impact. Good morning a lot of people like to fall asleep with the tv on, it keeps them company but not if you want to lose weight yeah, there are two big stories. One we talk about the obesity epidemic and high caloric diets and sedentary lifestyles this study is raising the possibility that perhaps light at night could actually be influencing our risk for obesity. We talk about light blue light and how that is potentially bad for us and our sleep this kind of brings both of these two topics together. What did the study find so basically the study followed women for an average of five years the women were 55 on average and they found that the women who were exposed to the most light, that is tv on while they were sleeping, light in the bedroom, as opposed to just a night light or a smaller amount of light were more likely to gain weight greater than 11 pounds they were more likely to increase their bmi by more than 10 and more likely to become overweight or obese. Why how and why are they getting up to eat . A lot of variables that they could not actually control for you. The hypothesis is the light from these sources is affecting melatonin, disrupting circadian rhythms, changing appetitesuppressing hormones. It should be noted the biggest limitations from this study are that it was an cause and effect. This was merely an association we always say more research should and needs to be done to establish if this really is playing a role. It makes sense because there are good studies that say disrupted sleep leads to weight gain. Exactly. If the lights are affecting your sleep and you are not able to change your habits the next day. We talk about sleep hygiene its a small change to make. I think that a lot of the experts who were not involved in the study said why not try this . This was conducted solely on women . Yes. Do we know if the findings are applicable to men as well . The researchers say they imagine the results would be the same in men but they did not look at that population specifically. It has a cough suppressant as well as a nasal decongestant so it relieves a lot of the daytime cold and flu symptoms like headache and achiness and sore throat and cough without making you drowsy.
