The best female skier on the planet came from behind after her first run passed the competition and promptly fell to her knees and wept. Her best event slalom is just coming up tomorrow. Shiffrin is in a place that Bryce Bennett would love to be one day. He had a very good showing for a 20yearold at his first olympics in todays mens downhill. Bryce told me moments after the race he is more focused on ever on getting back in four years but he said he made sure to savor this moment. Thats got to be a dream come true. You finally get the opportunity to stand in the start and you have the bib on and youre at the olympics and youre like all the hard work and years of fries from not only me but my parents and people in the community and coaches in my career and everyone felt pretty good. Now to some olympic news off the slopes. Threetime Gold Medalist shaun white is trying to tamp down a growing controversy. After winning the snow pipe, he was asked a question about a Sexual Harassment he settled. He referred to it as gossip. That didnt go over well. He followed up with a statement. Video shows the moments shots were fired into a classroom just before the end of the day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in south florida. The sheriff says the suspect was armed with a semiautomatic rifle. He pulled a fire alarm and targeted students as they ran out. I heard three or four shots or pops. We all realized it was real. We all started running. Reporter s. W. A. T. Teams swarmed the school going classroom to classroom. The 19yearold suspect nikolas cruz was caught an hour later. He was expelled last year for disciplinary reasons but he was attending another school in the district. Hes just always been a crazy kid. I heard some people say one day he would have done this. Annan foreign, i think that was today. Reporter tonight the fbi is assisting local authorities as they gather evidence at the school. The sheriff calling for action. You see something thats not right, you owe it to your family, your community and uhoh it to Law Enforcement to make this a safer nation by calling up someone. Tonight. Last weeks letter contained glitter, todays did not. There was white powder all in the nfl and all over it. We had both touched it. At that point i reported it to the department of public safety. Reporter dawber and her assistant were examined and the law school was temporarily shut down as Hazardous Materials teams swept several rooms. According to a statement from stanford, the powder was not harmful. Dawber says this may be related to the effort to recall judge air ski. His supporters have been increasingly an gressive. Reporter that 64yearold woman driving the School Bus Allegedly got rough with the 7yearold when the little girl refused to get off the school bus. So rough that the second grader was injured. It happened here at Browns Valley Elementary School last week. As special Needs Children were being cropped off, one 7yearold refused to leave the bus. Video shows the driver forcefully grab add the girl. Physically we gan to move her around the bus. At one point the child is down on her buttocks and the driver is forcing her knees up against the student. Reporter the child had scratches on her back and ribs. The driver kim klopson booked into jail today for felony child abuse following a week long police investigation. Unified School District says klopson no longer works there and says no child should ever experience Something Like that can especially at school. We hope the consequences and charges filed reach the full extent of the law. She could be sentenced up to six years in prison. She has no prior arrests. We were not able to contact kloppson tonight.
