Happening today, we are expected to get an update on barts south bay extension project. We are learning you may have to wait longer for bart to make its way all the way to downtown san jose. Live outside the new bart station, bob, red redell, a lot people are excited about this extension here, whats the holdup . Reporter the government helping fund this project has given them an extra three months to come up with a design for the five miles under ground route thatll go to san jose, building a single board or a double board tunnel. The vta is scheduled to approve one of those designs in april. The approval is injun and the bart Board Director will be receiving updates later this morning. This is known as phase two of the bart Silicon Valley project. It will extend six miles into the south bay with four new stations including alum rock and downtown san jose and santa clara. The design process is not a lot of time considering there is still about nine years worth of work left. They hope to have the extension opened by 2026. Phase one is almost complete of warm springs and milpitas and berryessa is supposed to open last month which is ahead of schedule and now scheduled for june. You can see behind me live, the milpitas bart station looks like it is almost complete and the next step is to finish it and hand it over to bart so that agency can start beginning its testings. Lets get into saturday, all the rain is out of here, our temperatures along the coast will be at 56 degrees for the high, 61 degrees for in land areas. On sunday, highs in the low 60s. If you are going to the San Francisco zoo, it is going to be free for kids and a nice weekend but really cool. Look at how cool these temperatures will be with that shrine, well only make it to the low 50s. Santa cruz, low 60s there. Sunday is probably the best day to get there with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures up to 60s and 70 degrees, not a bad beach weekend. This weekend if you get out there, it is going to be great, mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s to 60 degrees on sunday.
