We are partnering this year with the league of women voters of oakland and black woman organized for Political Action to do Voter Registration and education. Thousands filled the streets this morning as demonstrators marched from city hall to near the sap center as a commitment to education, action and engagement leading to the midterm elections. For many the solidarity meant a lot. There is so much negativity on a daily basis. It seemed important to me to be out here in a unifying, positive manner to voice my opinion on so many issues that i disagree with currently in the administration. The march ended with a big rally featuring speaker, music and food. Representatives from 40 nonprofits were on hand hoping to capitalize on todays momentum and attract new volunteers and supporters. Firefighters found a woman dead inside the home in martinez. They say its been clear if she was dead before the fire. This is at farm lane.
