As we get a look at our high temperatures today its going to be in the mid 60s for san jose, even upper 60s for the south county with mid to upper 50s for the east bay. I will be tracking all the changes in the temperatures and also the incoming storm that will be here as we go into the next couple of days. Thats in just a few minutes. Looks pretty good today, even though we will have patchy dense fog. A live look outside right now in san jose, mostly cloudy skies. As we go to santa teresa we will get some sunshine today and highs reaching into the mid 60s. Thats ahead of the rain. We will talk about when it arrives, thats coming up next. And im still thinking about shake shack, but we will looking from the tollbooth here at the richmondsan rafael bridge, an easy light drive, not a problem for visibility. I will show you where visibility and road work will cause a big slow down. Today in the bay it s wednesday you re nearly hawa welcome back. Youre watching today in the bay on this wednesday. Halfway through the workweek. Taking live look right now the home of the oakland as, those game tickets for the Upcoming Season go on sale this morning at 8 00. Get ready. We are already talking about baseball season here . Yes. We love baseball in the bay area. Of course, but, yeah, i think of baseball weather and spring training and all of that stuff and its still really chilly out there. Weve had a lot of fog and were getting ready for some winter rain. Now, as we get a live look outside in san rafael visibility still fairly good here. Weve seen some areas where visibility has been reduced to pretty much nothing. Thats what we are seeing right now in concord and livermore as well as halfmoon bay. The sevenday forecast is up at the bottom of the screen. Its going to be in the mid 60s today, but then it gets a lot cooler. I dont think it will warm up too much because of the fog that weve seen moving out of the Central Valley into parts of the east bay. Here is a look at where we are right now, 48 degrees in livermore, 57 degrees in san jose, you can even tell now the difference in those temperatures because of the fog. As you are starting out this morning you take a look out the window in san jose, getting dressed it will be a good day for light long sleeves and some pants, you will be comfortable with that. It is a very mild start here this morning with our high temperatures today up to 66 degrees in san jose, it will only make it up to 56 degrees in antioch and concord, 57 degrees. Oakland expect a high of 60 degrees. We have these storms lining up in the pacific. Here is the center of the storm and all the clouds extending out well ahead of that that will be moving into the bay area. Also kicking up high surf. So we do have a high surf warning in effect, check this out, 40 foot breakers for today into tomorrow. I cannot even imagine. So you do have to be really careful out there. I know people will want to go to the coast to see that. As far as we see rain moving in for early tomorrow morning, it will be off and on throughout tomorrow as well as early on friday. Saturday is dry, then another storm system will be here late sunday evening into monday and thats going to be a stronger one kicking up some higher winds and keeping that rain in the forecast through at least next wednesday. Mike, we start out with that fog. How is it impacting the drivers so far . Its tougher obviously to see it. The fog shows up the same on my maps although its much denser in many spots. Thick fog along the coast although not showing up for highway 1. It will be there when you get over towards halfmoon bay. The rest of the bay shoves a nice smooth drive, its also over here through discovery bay, brentwood and creeping down in towards the altamonte pass and affecting the folks on 580. Eastbound, though, the big effect is that theres also construction, paving work going on. Youre jammed up from greenville over to grant line road. Its in the grid there. Caltrans has permission to keep lanes closed and the off ramp of grant line road itself closed until 10 00 a. M. That may be a factor. We will track that, it will likely be picked up sooner. Over toward dublin, we are looking at the volume of traffic. Its moving well but you see the low clouds in the distance. So again fog may be a factor as we look at your map. It is north of there through brentwood, discovery bay, concord zero visibility registering right now, that is a factor coming across the benicia bridge as well, carquinez bridge may be a little clearer. We do have a stall reported in san leandro, i will make sure no lanes are blocked and let you know. So far the rails are moving well, bart reports minor delay, track maintenance out of San Francisco, nothing major so far. Officials are now taking a closer look at the anderson damn in morgan hill. This is video of the dam working overtime during last februarys rains. Today is a special meeting at the Santa Clara Valley water district, they will discuss the dams seismic retro fit project. I guess you know we have our phones on set. 4 50 right now. Its one week since those devastating mudslides killed 20 people in montecito. So tragic. We are learning the damage was more widespread. Here is the numbers that have just come down. 115 Single Family homes were destroyed, almost double last weeks initial estimate. Damage inspections are still taking place. Three people are still unaccounted for this morning. The size and scope of the cleanup is becoming more clear. Take a look. Firefighters are standing at the opening of a tunnel that runs under a roadway. The tunnel is completely jammed with debris. Isnt that amazing, from the mud flow. Right now an update for you.
