They lose to the cowboys in dramatic fashion and that sums up the raiders season. It has been a story and the way it ended with carr and the fumble. Thats how his season has gone. He has had a couple good games early in the season, and played well against kansas city at home and other than that it has been a rough season for carr. It was a tough one to watch. Raiders hosted the cowboys. Both teams in the hunt. Carr lobs it up to crabtree. And then cowboys on a punt but chris jones runs the ball 24 yards for a first down on the fake punt. And then prescott has nothing, so he scrambles his way all the way into the end zone. And then the same score, carr, he hooks up with Michael Crabtree and that ties it at 17. Fourth quarter, same score. Actually, excuse me, folks, that was, right there, a first down that led to a field goal and that will be controversial because final minute of the game, same score, looking for c crabtree and its incomplete and theres a pass interference on the call, and then carr escapes the zach, and fumbles it out of the end zone for a touch back. The offense got off to a slow start to begin with, and we all thought they would make the dramatic comeback and finally we will see the magic we did a year ago. Man, derick carr is not going to sleep well tonight. Hes not. Like we said, the story of his season has been up and down football and no consistency. Across the board the tpaeeam ha had a lack of the urgency. This is a beatable team, the dallas cowboys. Tonight the raiders had a chance to get it done. They immediate made it close an down to the end, and you have a unfortunate situation. Lets talk about the defense now. The defense has bench improved. Tonight you saw two interceptions. Did the defense do enough do enough to win . They have played good enough to win games since he took over. We just have not been able to put enough points on the board. You know, you have to be able to execute on offense. The combination of carr not playing very well in the offensive play with downing, that combination has not worked this season. Yeah. And that, i think, is going to change after right after their last game. Well, we shall see. This is important. Lets take a look at the afc playoff picture. Pittsburgh lost antonio brown, and the chiefs lead the afc west, and as you can see, the ravens, the chargers and the raiders all on the outside looking in. What do you make of the afc this year . The afc, it is pretty much followed along what it has the last couple years. You have the dominant new England Patriots and the steelers right there. Bottom line, when it comes down to this time of year you have to look to quarterback bg and you have to look to pass rush. Thats the teams that are in it right now, they have pass rush and quarterback play. Right at the top are the new England Patriots. Is it safe to say the raiders, their slim chances just went to this and they are not making the post season . No, it would be hey, there would have to be lot of Different Things happen. Bottom line, at this time of the year, if you are going to make the playoffs, you want to be playing your best football right now. You could say the raiders are playing some of their worst football right now. They are. And so even if they got in, they would probably lose in the first round. Who is your favorite to win the afc . New england. Right up there, you can never count the steelers out with big ben, and the chiefs are showing here, alex smith has played good football, and he had a little lull and they lost some games and now hes back on track and the team is playing well so you never know. When we started this season we thought the afc west was going to be the dominant division in football, and, you know, the second half has gone the other direction. The memorial for mayor ed lee began at 3 00 p. M. With the presentation of the colors, punctual like lee, who by all accounts also had a pretty interesting sense of humor. He told turtle jokes. He laughed because he was trying to build enthusiasm for his jokes. Most of the time he told jokes that he could barely get through because he was laughing so hard at them himself. Schumer, at times could cushion great pain, and both were evident in abundance. Trust is the coin of the realm. You can deal with a person you trust, and you cant deal with somebody you dont trust. San franciscos history in prior centuries is marked by prejudice against the Chinese Community. In china, San Franciscos first chineseamerican mayor, he was like a superstar, an icon. Lee was iconic in Smaller Community circles, too, as a voice for the citys most negligence or vulnerable, and maybe future successors to exsole the Little Things he did every day of his life. He showed our children that Public Service can still be noble. And to that end one of mayor lees daughters, brianna talking about one of their traditions when he was in high school, he would wake her up at 8 00 on the weekend to go out and paint over graffiti and over trash, and what it showed her was to work alongside other people and better her community. Most of the people inside and outside city hall were just everyday san franciscans that came to say goodbye to a man they respected and admires, and no group felt closer to lee than the Chinese Community, which he so loved. For the generations of Asian Americans he inspired the Chinese Community well represented today waiting to pay respect to the first chineseamerican mayor of San Francisco. Definitely the first one to be from our community. We are proud of that. Lee, a son of chinese immigrants made his mark as a civil rights attorney representing tenants in San Franciscos china town, and some believe he never stopped fighting for the kphaoChinese Community. He gone too fast, and the city and community needed him. Yeah, we really love him. In 2011, as the acting leader of San Francisco, lee joined jean kwan with the white house dinner. When the two went to the white house, i have seen that picture in little restaurants out in the suburbs and small towns in america, because it meant to a lot of people that Chinese Americans have finally arrived. Tonight hours after the service ended, pictures of the memorial of ed lee. A lot of things. Not only for the Chinese Community, but he did this for everybody in the city of San Francisco. An Upscale Hotel turned into a crime scene at the four seasons hotel, and an off Duty Richmond Police officer has been arrested and they are trying to figure out what happened. Reporter before sunrise San FranciscoPolice Received a disturbing call from the four seasons hotel. A witness stated there was a male located in the building who was shooting a gun. Reporter police say guest were told to shelter in place, as dispatch audio warns officers somebody reported multiple shots fired. There was gunshots heard on the tenth floor, six or seven shots. Reporter investigators made contact with the suspect and say within 90 minutes he surrendered peacefully, a fellow member of law enforcement. The male is in our custody, and he is an offduty Police Officer with the Richmond Police department. We have since placed the officer on administrative leave and we are conducting an investigation on the incident. Reporter exactly what led to the gunfire is still unclear. A statement from the hotel only said the incident did involve a guest. This morning guests we spoke with say they did not hear gunfire but saw police. We went in our room. I thought it was housekeeping at first, and he had his badge and i was shocked. Its not anything that you are expecting to happen. Reporter many guests we spoke with said they did not pt know anything happen and while police say there were no injuries the man who was taken into custody was transported for a medical evaluation. Thank you. A family trip to the beach turned tr turned tragic in sonoma county. A man and his son were swept away. You can take a look at the map here. Three children were playing in Shallow Water when a strong wave pulled them out, and both of them, father and son, drown. The hunt is on for an arsonist. It appears he struck again this morning near san jose near 680. Ross joins us live from san jose. Any Common Thread for police to follow . They are looking at all the cases, and so far i do believe there may be a connection. The hunt, as you mentioned, is on and is expanding. The lead investigator is chp and they are teaming up with other Police Officers to try and find them. The latest fire was spotted about 1 00 sunday morning off capital expressway, and the site is next to a homeless encampment and was started in a shopping cart. The small blaze was intentionally set and likely connected to the recent string of fires that may be arson. For more than a week somebody has been setting small fires, more than 20 of them, along interstate 680 near the entry and exit ramps in san jose. A team of chp investigators have been canvassing the area and talking to witnesses and following up on multiple leads. The agency says its getting good information and cooperation from the public, especially the homeless that live along that stretch. Those investigators are now working with other Police Agencies to find out who was responsible and shut it down. So far investigators have not released any suspect information but say they are making good progress. Live from san jose, nbc bay area news. The lights are on at the airport and the power was just restored in the last hour after it cut out this afternoon. More than 1,000 flights were delayed or cancelled sending a ripple affect worldwide. The hearts Field International airport in atlanta is not just the busiest in the country but one of the busiest in the world. The lights and power in atlanta affected the three airports here impacted, leaving hundreds of people grounded. Reporter that outage started around 1 00 in the afternoon in atlanta. Thats about 10 00 a. M. Here. I talked with passengers here who already had gotten on their planes heading there and they were asked to get back off and the flights were canceled. This is the pile of luggage in deltas baggage claim area, and passengers have to claim them after their flights were cancelled. They deplaned us, and we were only on the plane for 30 minutes. She was traveling with her 2yearold, and her husband dropped them off at 10 00 this morning and returned at 3 00 this afternoon to pick them up again. They were heading out early, and so we can wait a day or two perhaps. Well see. Frank was headed home to atlanta and had to deplane after his flight was delayed and then cancelled. I feel terrible for the folks stuck there. We have power, so i have a lot of sympathy for travelers stuck without power. In atlanta, passengers had to exit planes and wait on the tarmac because the bridges were not working, and in the terminal, darkness. A fire in an underground electrical facility knocked out power for the entire airport and caused problems for travelers across the country. This one, in my eyes, is not excusable, not having any kind of mechanism to have the power turned on. Its a mess for everybody. Reporter even though power has been mostly restored to atlanta, passengers should not expect everything to return to normal tomorrow morning. In fact, Delta Airlines already announced about 300 flights are canceled tomorrow morning, so passengers should really Pay Attention to their travel plans if they happen to be flying through tomorrow. Over all, similar to the highs we saw today. Mid60s despite the chilly start to the morning in san jose, and the same for San Francisco, and at the coast not as warm as the upper 60s, but about 60 at half moon bay. Get ready for changes, welcome changes, especially given how dry things have been this month. Late tuesday, 11 00 to midnight early wednesday morning. That rain will return to the north bay and move through pretty quickly if you have plans for the wednesday morning commute by 6 00 a. M. , and may still see a few showers. With the wednesday system, it looks like north to south, everybody should get a little rain out of the system, and another view with another computer model indicates its possible the north bay could see a quarter inch or more around santa rosa and along the peninsula coastline. The trend with the early wednesday weather system has been wetter, which is good news given that we do need the rain, but this might be the only rain and sierra snow we see this week as High Pressure is built off to the west and we will see a cold plunge of air dropping down and affecting most of the country, and well be on the outer fridge of this, and by next monday the changeover to cool and chilly conditions arrives with the official start of winter on thursday.
