The northeast preparing for anything between a dusting to a half foot of snow depending on where you are. Dylan tracking all of it. Going to get pretty bad in some places. It is. And its the first snow of the season. This is the first major snowstorm of the season. As you pointed out, it is going to be a big one. A 2,000 mile stretch blanketing areas where people arent used to seeing much, if any, of the white stuff. People living in the south waking up to an unusual sight. Snow. The winter storm began way south. This traffic jam was in mexico. Texas was next to get hit. You hit that patch of ice and man, youre in a wreck. A 15car pileup in san antonio. A record 5 inches of snow in college station. We have snow in houston. Football star j. J. Watt couldnt get enough of the unusual conditions. This is awesome. 180,000 customers initially lost power as record amounts of snow fell in mississippi and louisiana. Schools and businesses closed early in atlanta. Delta canceled 625 flights at its Hartsfield Jackson hub. Little early for us here in georgia, but, you know, well get through it. This morning the northeast bracing for the seasons first snowstorm. But theres more than one way to look at the weather. I love the snow. Especially around christmas. And it is still snowing in atlanta right now. Areas back through texas, louisiana, alabama, mississippi, the snow is just about done there. We are going to see this develop into an eastern system and because of that we do have winter storm warnings up and down the east coast. 71 Million People will still be impacted and also keep in mind even though the snow wont a accumulate on the roads because its been so mild lately, we are still going to see dangerous conditions on the overpasses. They freeze on both sides. We are going to have to deal with this storm all day long. We are looking at as much as 2 to 4 inches in a wide stretch with isolated amounts closer to 6 inches especially along that rain snow line. That would be right along the coast. Eastern long island could see close to 6 inches of snow. Its like we havent had any kind of taste of winter and all of a sudden were feeling it 2,000 miles across the country. When you Start Talking about a few inches in carolina, thats enough to cripple major cities. Now to a major story out west. Those relentless wildfires showing no signs of letting up anytime soon. Thousands of firefighters are working around the clock. Some not taking a break since the wildfires began. Some losing their own homes in the process. Firefighters trying to take advantage of calm winds before they pick up once again today. And this morning the fires have turned deadly. Kristen is in hard hit ventura. Good morning. Firefighters know their window with help from Mother Nature is closing fast. Overnight some progress on the ground. Its not as dire as it looked a few nights ago. However, there is a tremendous volume of fire out there. Reporter the life and death struggle far from over knowing the brutal santa ana winds will be back later today. Almost 9,000 firefighters now battling on the front line. Many have been working six days straight. Evacuees still wondering what theyll go home to. . No sleep. Worry. Devastati devastating. The Moore Campaign tells nbc it actively encouraged its supporters to attend. I believe hes a good christian man and hes still denying everything that hes been accused of. Beverly young nelson who first came forward publicly three weeks ago slammed President Trump for endorsing moore. I guess we as women dont matter because we are not part of the old boys club. She alleges moore assaulted her when she was 16 and had signed her yearbook, but Moores Campaign insists its a forgery since nelson now admits she wrote her own notes beneath the signature. She added that to remind herself of who roy moore was and where and when mr. Mor signed her yearbook. Reporter moore is also drawing fire for what he said at a Campaign Stop earlier this year. There are still some burdens. Some voters on the conservative side say they cant come over the line. From twitter to rallies, President Trump clearly all in on roy moore. Voters who i spoke with over the past four days say they may not love roy moore, but they believe in President Trumps agenda. Well stay tuned. Thanks. 29 people are recovering following a bus crash on highway 101 in San Francisco and this morning weve learned the bus driver did pass a field sobriety test. Our nbc bay area sky ranger flew over the scene. It happened just after 8 00 on 101 south just past hospital curve. The bus was headed to a party on the peninsula when it crashed and everyone on board was injured. Which is video from a man who pulled over after witnessing the crash. You can see lots of confusion, the bus turned over on its side with several passengers hurt on the side of the freeway. Out of the 29 injured, 23 were taken to the hospital. Most were taken to nearby sf general. 22 people are listed in fair condition and one of the passengers suffered serious injuries. Eyewitnesses gave investigators a good idea of what happened. Some unknown reason, that bus started to lose control, struck the stCenter Divide and came ba across the lane, ended up on its side, blocking the far right lane. The chp is still trying to determine why the bus driver lost control. He eventually took his own life, but not before killing francisco fernandez, a junior on the Football Team and cheer leading captain casey marquez. Both appeared to be targeted randomly. M. 29 people are recovering following a bus crash on highway 101 in San Francisco, and this morning, were learning the bus driver did pass a field sobriety test. Our nbc bay area sky ranger flew over the scene. It happened last night just after 8 00 on 101 south just past hospital curve. The bus was headed to a party on the peninsula when it crashed and everyone on board was injured. Out of the 29 injured, 23 were taken to the hospital. 22 people are listed in fair condition, and one of the passengers suffered serious injuries. This is video from a man who pulled over after witnessing the crash. You can see confusion with the passengers, several hurt on the side of the road, and that is the driver there. Eyewitnesses gave investigators a good idea of what happened. Some unknown reason, that bus started to lose control, struck the Center Divide and then came back across the lane, ended up on its side, brockilocking the right lane. Another major story developing is out west. The major wildfires burn out of control. Six fires in all keeping firefighters working around the clock. This morning Officials Say one woman has died. Some of those evacuations have been lifted now today as the fire burns into the National Forest. People getting to come home to see what, if anything, is left of their homes. Franks initially planned to resign in january but on friday he stepped down saying his wife was hospitalized and needed his help. The couple had twins through a surrogate eight years ago. Dozens of people were injured, four seriously after a charter bus overturned on a fran highway overnight. The bus hit the median wall and ricochetted crashing on the side of the interstate.
