Developing now, those strong santa ana winds and dry brush fuel the spread of californias wildfires. 27,000 people evacuated. The flames destroy property in and around los angeles and ventura. Taking a live look, look at the fire burning in so many spots there. Its a tough one for firefighters to contend with. This map showing where each of those fires are burning. The thomas fire jumped highway 101, reaching the pacific ocean. It is near santa clarita. The creek fire is burning near sylmar. In terms of the size of the fires, the creek fire is 11,000 acres. The rie fire is 5,000. The thomas is the largest, so far, have been burned 55,000 acres. We sent our own crew to ventura to speak to the people impacted by the fire. Jodi hernandez filed this report. The wind fueled thomas fire continues to spread in ventura county, leaving entire neighborhoods aglow. The people who live there on edge. Many are choosing not to evacuate. Glen built a sonoma Vacation Home ten years ago and installed anderson windows. Glen says they now leak. He says anderson representatives have come out multiple times to fix the leaking, but it has not worked. He says over the years he spent 7,000 repairing damage from the leaks. The biggest expense was hiring a contractor to tear out and replace dry wall and base board. Now, the windows are still under warranty so glen asked annerson to reimburse him for repairs. They offered to replace two windows and a door frame. He said that wasnt good enough. We contacted anderson and they offered glen 5,000. He was thrilled.
