New this morning, a Police Officer was hurt after he was attacked by several suspects overnight. Today in the bays bob redell joins us live at the scene to explain what happened and how that officer is doing. Bob . Reporter we expect that officer to be okay. Good morning to you, laura. Whats not clear is what led up to the altercation. Did the officer make contact, then was attacked or did the three suspects jump him . It happened around 12 20. San jose University Police sergeant was on his z bicycle in the area of 3rd and san antonio. It was a block off campus when he made contact with these suspects. We know one suspect punched him at least once in the nose. You can see the ambulance arrive on the scene. We know a number of people were taken to the hopspital, includig the sergeant and two suspects. We are not showing the three suspects faces because its not clear whether or not thear juveniles. The back up officers did take all three into custody. One was tased, one was hit with a baton, the other taken into custody without incident. You saw the ambulance. Two suspects had to be treated medically for the injuries. All three people were hurt, the sergeant and two suspects are going to be okay. The Police Sergeant with san jose state university. Cbs and pbs suspended Popular Television host charlie rose after explosive allegations that rose sexually harassed multiple women. Nora odonnell had this to say. This is a moment that demands a frank and honest assessment about where we stand and the safety of women. Let me be very clear, there is no excuse for this alleged behavior. It is systematic and pervasive. The allegations against rose a part of a report published by the washington post. The post spoke with eight women, some identified, others with held their names. They say they experienced moments when rose gropd him, lewd phone calls or appeared naked in their presence. He admitted errors in judgment and does not believe the allegations against him are accurate. 6 03. Developing this morning, ntsb is investigating two incidents at sfo where planes ended up on the same runway. Pete suratos joins us live from the airport this morning. A lot of concern for folks hearing about some of these incidents. The National Transportation of safety board is handling this investigation and the incidents we learned about were after the previous incidents involving the same airline, air canada. First, we are learning in february 2016, compass airlines, forced to abort a plane because a Virgin America jet was lined up to take off on the same runway. December 2016, a sky west plane crossing a painted runway line. Now the two other incidents i was referring to involved air canada, one in july, 2017 when a plane almost landed on a taxiway where four other planes were lined up. The pilot pulled up just in time. In october, air canada having a Communications Breakdown with a jet apparently ignoring or didnt receive instructions to abort a landing. Thankfully, there were no injuries. According to the federal aviation administration, in the fiscal year ending in september, there were more than 1700 socalled incidents like this around the nation. A federal judge blocked President Trumps order to cut federal funding for sanctuary cities. The ruling applied to a lawsuit by Santa Clara County. In his ruling, the judge said the president cannot set new conditions on spending approved by congress, calling it uninstitutional. Santa clara supervisor believes it will be a knockout blow to the white house threat. The Trump Administration has lost every step of the way, not only on legal procedure, but they have failed to understand the constitution of the United States. Santa clara county set to lose 1. 7 billion if the executive order was upheld. Many experts believe the white house will appeal to the u. S. Supreme court. Drivers continuing coverage now. There is a new lawsuit related to the north bay wildfires. Four People Living at the oakmont assisted living facility in santa rosa are suing management. Police say more drivers are finding out they are victims in a card skimming operation at two gilroy gas stations. Police found devices at stations on 1st and westwood near monterey road. Investigators are looking at surveillance to determine who might have planted those devices. The valero station put seals on the pump that should indicate tampering. They shut down the network and they were determined that we had a cyber attack and that files were being deleted. The hack started with a message on the agencys website, then the teams went in to investigate that message and opened a wider attack on the network. Disneyland is now more expensive for some people. Previously, People Living in Southern California could buy discounted passes. They ended the program yesterday. A spokesperson tells the l. A. Times those who already have the pass can renew. The design that the Santa Clara Valley transportation wants is less disrubtive to businesses during construction. According to the mercury news, isnt used as often and cost is less predictable. The other is the double bore where they run side by side. This is familiar if you are a current bart rider. This is what you see at existing bart stations.
