The issue here is did he know he was firing that gun . Reporter that is exactly right. It really comes down to just one thing, jessica. Good evening to both of you. The issue is intent. Did jose garcia karata mean to fire the weapon or did it go off accidentally as the defense says. But if thats the case if it was accidental why all the conflicting stories that garp are garbled and unintelligible about what he says happened that night. He showed little reaction to the grave descriptions in court of how kate steinle died july of 2015. At times steinles mother liz sullivan closed her eyes and gently dabbed tears. Today its about the family and the strength they have shone. Reporter with Second Degree murder charges leveled, the defense painted the picture of an accidental zmarj of the weapon. Either the weapon misfired on its own because the weapon was defective or the weapon was fine or we dont know and theres been some sort of miss handling not intentional. Reporter thats the defense argument. But by public attorney Matt Gonzalez own admission karata has produced various stories why the weapon fired. In one spergs he said he tried to shoot a sea lion. In another he told them he stepped on the handgun cause going to fire. He has never seen this Many Police Officers and they are accusing him of something he doesnt know took place. He is not interested in admitting that he was there. But eventually he does and talks. And thats where he tells them kwhapd. What happened was an accident. Reporter now Matt Gonzalez there also said he has a second grade education and questionable state of mind. He says he told police that he was born in the year 1863. As for the gun, and this is crucial, gonzalez described it as an elite firearm, a sig sawer specifically designed to be sensitive to fire. You may have seen this tv add during the newscasts. The claim that President Trump has brought the country to the brink of nuclear war and strikeouted justice. Released by Billionaire Hedge Fund manager tom styer who says he wants to impeach the president. Political analyst Larry Gerston with us now. Tom styer has a boat lead of money whats the story here. You start with 19. 5 billion you spend that money. You know just as you saw in the ad, the president has gone you a mock on the brink of nuclear war wlant weve got to do something about it. He has plunged in 10 million for ads, another few million for social media. he says thats going to drive the campaign. Well styer spent a lot of money during the campaign against trump. So lets talk about the possibility of impeaching him. Is that realistic at this point. No. It isnt at this point. There is no question about it. But nonetheless he is moving forward with this. And he is hopeful it stimulates discussion. But you dont just impeach somebody because you dont like what he is doing. And sorry for the liberals who view this as really red meat. The fact of the matter is that these are judgment calls that the president is making. And as judgment calls some people like it and a lot of people dont like him. And thats just not in enough reason. Add to that that the republicans control the house, republicans control the senate. Do we really think that no matter what the republicans are going to impeach their own and then convict him with the two thirds vote in the senate. Not likely. The scenario is dubious as best. Tom styer is popping up a lot of areas here whats his endgame. One possibility is he is using the 10 million at seed money. Lets see if we can put together the ground game with millions of people. Obama like stuff. Millions of people contributing 5, 10, 15 and coming one a major kban to bring it to the public attention. Naes a good possibility when you look at styer. But the other possibility this is possible too is that he is thinking about his future his options. Lets remember, we got the governorship open in 2018. Weve got Diane Feinstein running for reelection for the ump teengt time. There are a number of democrats who say she has left them. You put that together and its reason to suspect styer might be running for higher office. Maybe so. But here is the deal one way or another. As long as President Trump stands out as the least popular president by a mile in modern president ial history theyre going to be the discussions. Styer is probably added a little bit of fuel to the discussions. But theyre taking place for the near future. Especially until mueller finishes up his work downstream. That could be a year or two. It will keep popping up thank you. Whaels are putting on a show on the california coast. A local photographer documented the action. The man behind buza photography shared these pictures. We have a good Football Game up in rohnert. A little bit of a lyle jacket for everybody heading out. Unfortunately there is the look towards tomorrow, fire danger back with hotter weather and dry winds High Pressure lets get to the microclimate forecast. And all of this heat is being produced by High Pressure. I heard from some of you that said youre plain mad about the wild swings in temperatures. Im with you here. Id like to get into the nice stable pattern of fall weather. This is the wild card here producing the latest heat. The main reason why is all of the hot air associated with High Pressure is nudging in because of the fact that its moving the storm track, the rain, colder temperatures right up into portion he is of canada. Looks like it lasses about three day was the warmest weather in the forecast for tomorrow. So the bottom line here is fire danger does increase we know firefighters still watching out for hot spots in the north bay. Winds will be out of the northeast possibly gusts up as high as 20mileperhour that means a periodic wind of possibly the high. Warm near the coastline. Potential here of record heat and also some lower humidity. Fire danger will be the number one risk here up into the north bay. We start off for tomorrow morning cool to start lets see mostly sun judge skies 60 for the south bay towards the trivalley 58 and sunny. Across rest of the bay 59 for the east bay and comfortable in San Francisco at 60. As we hit 10 00, 11 00 tomorrow morning, temperatures will be on a fast rise. By the amp we put the south bay back up into the 90s. 90 in downtown san jose, 98 o 3 in morgan hill. Humidity through the microclimate, the wind in effect is a dry wind thats lowering the humidity. Down as low as 23 across the east bay. 93 in concord. 92 pleasanton and even warm 87 in oakland. The mean reason why by the bay and its the dry off shore wind out of the north and east. If you happen to have the day off maybe you take a little bit of advantage of this. Head towards half moon and enjoy the 81 degrees. Redwood city up to 90. San francisco take note you do not need the jacket tomorrow. The mission is the warmest at 89 degrees. Up towards the north bay 90 expected in novato and also 93 in santa rosa. After we goat over the heat the other thing we get asked about is the longrange forecast. Winter outlook is in. The way we see it right now wetter weather likely for the pacific northeast dryer towards los angeles. That leaves with us near average to above average rain possibilities at this point. We dont see the next possibility of rain moving into until maybe the second week of november 37 look at San Francisco forecast things cool down friday into the 60s. Well stay with that trend through monday. You can see the inland valleys drop down to 84 saturday, 79 degrees on sunday.
