But yeah, so i had him you do like a coffee break after you do the morning sunrise safari and i said, all right, well were going to be at tie a rose to a tree and then put this note on there, which is that note. And, yeah, so we had our coffee break and she sees the flower. She thought somebody had died. She thought it was like a [ light laughter ] like she thought it was like an in memoriam kind of thing. Like, oh my god. And im just like staring. Jimmy youre like, no, no. Go look at this note. Go look at the note. Yeah, no. Just go look at the note. Jimmy i dont want to get sad. I want to see elephants. Yeah. [ laughter ] jimmy lets go look at the flowers. Yeah. Yeah, basically. Jimmy i think its but its romantic. Yeah. Jimmy its like a date that you so then i said, write on a a note, write, our anniversary, which was may 11, 2013, and then the day it was. And i said, well, this was the first day i asked you to be my girlfriend and today was the last day you woke up as my girlfriend. [ audience awws ] yeah. Yeah. [ cheers and applause ] yeah. Jimmy yes, yes. A thousand times yes yeah. Jimmy yes. Thank you so much you know, she watches the bachelorette and stuff. Jimmy who doesnt . She felt like she had won yeah, i know. Honestly, i do watch all that. Jimmy i do. I could talk to you for three hours. Bachelor in paradise. Like oh, thats so fun she thought she had won, you know, because she had a rose. She had a rose. Jimmy exactly. Yeah. Has a theme to it. It was like a whole thing, yeah. Jimmy but i dont know how youre going to top africa, man. Thats going to be something. Yeah. Jimmy honeymoon in space, i guess the only thing to do. [ laughter ] i got to go to space. Yeah, well im im broke. Jimmy yeah, exactly. Well, lets talk about your films. Youve got two films based on a a true story and this is a theyre really both intense. Yeah. Jimmy thank you for your that one . For sure. Jimmy man, oh man. Talk about that that was a deep one. That was a tough one. Yeah, i mean, its you know, its tough, right, because were still in this war, and i it doesnt matter what you think about it, but weve been in it for 16 years. This war absolutely defines my generation, you know, and a lot of vets, you know, vietnam and world war ii guys, it was like, dont talk about it or, you know, how the vietnam guys came back, there wasnt a ticker tape parade and you know the baby boom. It was they came back and they were getting accosted, you know . And so it was tough. But look we have hundreds of thousands of i think 500,000 from this war alone coming back with posttraumatic stress. And its just something thats not talked about. 22 vets a day are taking their life. Its messed up, man. You know, like theyre in war and then they get back and theres no reintegration program. Theres no transition. Its says, okay, well take your gun, well take your uniform, go back home, get a a job at like walmart or home depot or something, man. Its tough for them to get jobs. Jimmy sure. And theyre just kind of forgotten about. Like, so its thats what this movie is about. Jimmy you you met the gentleman youre playing. Yes. Yeah. Adam schumann. Staff sergeant army. Did three deployments in iraq and they were and these deployments themselves were like 12 to 15 months. So just imagine being over there, being having to be in that mindset every minute of the day for 12, 15 months, your buddy just died, maybe, and its not like they you dont have this time to grieve. Its like everyones crying after loading up their guns to go back out there and its tough, man. So i just really felt for this guy. A lot of my buddies are military. I have so much respect for them, regardless of what you think about because a lot of times soldiers are used as pawns like for this Political Party or as this movie propaganda. Jimmy no, no. Its not. These are our countrymen that are going out there and to me thats what that flag represents, the guy to the left of you and the guy to the right of you, regardless of how you feel about congress, and if theyre helping you out. Its about, you know, the fellow man, and so [ cheers and applause ] jimmy yeah, for real. Like everybody yeah. As adam would say, he said, everybodys green in the army. Like, it doesnt matter, your race, religion, like nothing. And these guys, you know theyre theyre brothers. You know, brothers and sisters out there so its that films very important. Yeah. Jimmy you did a great job. And then only the brave. Yeah, this is another one. Jimmy i dont i was like this is another one where you go, like, well, this is based on a true story. But i didnt know about yeah, its based on a true story. You know and theres a lot of wildfires going off right now in california. The guys who are out there, men and women, who are doing it theyre called theyre hotshots. Thats our top line of defense and theyre the wildfire yeah, first line of defense for wildfire. And about five and a half years ago there was a fire in arizona where 19 of the 20 men lost their lives. They were called the Granite Mountain hotshots. They were about a bunch of can i say bad asses . Because i just did it. They were. They were a bunch of bad asses. [ laughter ] and and yeah. So we told you know, we told their story and its yeah, you know, its if you knew the ending or not, spoiler, but its you know, a lot of the movies just about family and brotherhood and this closeknit group and theyve never been put on screen before so i just felt yeah, again, i felt proud to to represent these guys, man. Theyre incredible. Jimmy also give them credit with the respect they deserve. And they never get the spotlight shone on them. You know . Yeah and they they dont want it. Jimmy they dont even want it. Even soldiers, like when you say, thank you for your service, its like thats the beginning and an end to a a conversation. Its your way of kind of relieving any guilt. But that soldier doesnt know what to say to it. These guys dont know what to say to it. Its in their job description. Its more like, you know, they appreciate when you say, hey, man, welcome home. Like, adam is teared up when a a guy just shook his hand and said, welcome home. You know, so thats what its about, these are our you know these are real life heroes and i know everybody once escaping those, you know superheroes, ive been a part of that world as well. But these are, you know, these are the men and women who are doing it, are First Responders, and yeah. If you dont appreciate them, your value systems messed up. But this movies our way of kind of this movies kind of a way of bringing it to light. Yeah. [ applause ] jimmy good for you. All good.
