The pd sent a tweet regarding this just before 1 00 a. M. Police told a camera crew on the scene that the victim may have been getting off a muni bus when it took place and turned into an attempted robbery. The news room did digging on crime stats in the Richmond District area. You can see a listing of five shootings, none of them deadly. Thats not including the shooting we are talking about right now. The closest one to this place took place on february, 2017 on the 2800 block of geary boulevard. The injuries to the victim are nonlife threatening. They are looking for the suspects at this time. The new walnut creek transit bill is what it is going to be called is going to add hundreds of Housing Units here and more parking for commuters to use the train station every morning, starting saturday, a new parking garage that will add 900 new spots going up here in the existing south parking lot outside the bart station. As you look at the tv screen, the latest renderings to give a sense of what it will look like when the garage is complete late next year. They will net more than an additional 100 parking spots. A new passenger spot, up grated spot and bart police station, better paths for walking and biking. The initial work will realign access to the current parking garage that starts this weekend and go on for the next five weekends, which will result in temporary closures and entrances to the current garage and parking lot. We also have whats Tropical Storm katia expected to move into mexico over the next several days. A lot going on in the atlantic as far as this hurricane season. At 6 31, we are following breaking news out of the south bay this morning. At least one person is dead after a drive by shooting in san jose. Investigators are at the scene. So is our today in the bays kris sanchez to bring us up to speed on the investigation and the hunt for the shooter. Kris . Reporter hi there, laura. All the investigators have just left the scene. This scene just wrapped up recently. It is clear. The crime scene here, if police have tracked down the suspect they are looking for, they havent told us yet. We can tell you all this started around the 9 00 hour. Officers arrived first on scene around 9 00 when 911 lines lit up with calls of the shooting. Officers found and adult man shot here and a suspect nowhere to be seen. The victim died at the hospital. The police work wrapped up here in the last hour or so. I did let mike inouye know, the traffic on story road or sunset drive, which leads into the residential neighborhood where i am this morning. Police have not given us a description of the suspect nor the suspect vehicle. This appears to be a drive by shooting related to gang activity. Perhaps they know who they are looking for. We are pressing to find out whether or not having a suspect like this out on the street presents a larger public threat. We havent heard back yet. We are waiting for the morning briefing. A man just got out of a muni bus when two suspects tried to rob him and shot him. They fled in a car. The former front man of the tower of power has died. Listen to that voice. Rick stevens was the lead singer for the oakland based r b group. A post reads, in part, rick was an extremely soulful sing r singer and entertainer with an engaging personality and strong faith. As you look out the window, start out in front of the closet getting ready for the day, you might need a light jacket. The temperatures feel cooler. You may be taking the jacket off. Wear something that will keep you cool as the temperatures heat up and sun glass zs will be a must. We will get sunshine in San Francisco this afternoon and sandals a great choice as we will have nice weather for you to stay comfortable and the lower humidity helps out, too. A delay for the 5 because of a crash between 8th and 9th. This is not involving a muni bus. We get to the Golden Gate Bridge shot. One issue with the southbound headlights at the toll plaza, marcus and laura, theres a crash at the toll plaza. Chp is going to give us an update.
