As we go into the afternoon expect highs to be just a few degrees cooler than yesterday, 8 degrees in the east bay, peninsula 79 degrees, but still hot in spots like the south bay, 93 degrees there, as well as the sa degrees and also the highs in the trivalley will be topping out in the 90s as well. Its happening off of elidy way near 680. Police say a man was stabbed. The suspect still on the loose. Saying goodbye to Sergeant Scott lunger, just hours from now thousands of police from around the country will gather to pay their respects to the fallen officer. Today in the bay kris sanchez live this morning at oracle arena where the Police Sergeants life will be celebrated later today and we hear the governor will be one of the folks this in attendance. Reporter yeah, he is one of a long li of dignitaries who will be here at the celebration for life for Sergeant Scott lunger wanting to pay their respects. Perhaps most poignant, we will hear from the officers own children for the first time today during this service at oracle arena. His body will be brought here in a few hours in a procession similar to the one that he got the day that he died but perhaps larger. The motorcade will depart hayward at 8 45 this morning. Thats where there was a private then public viewing where people paid their respects and shared stories about the man who was dedicated to family, duty and community. In addition to working s. W. A. T. And the gang unit he trained other new officers and also coached high schools girls on their Softball Team in oakley. Nearly all members of the Hayward Police force will be here, some of whom will be working rather some of whom were working the night that he was shot and killed by 21yearold mark estrada during a traffic stop. During the celebration of life we will hear from sergeant lungers family, his daughters, father, brother, they will speak, his sister is going to sing and the Hayward Police chief along with other member of the force will also speak. The celebration of life is set to begin here at oracle arena at 10 00 this morning. Organizers do ask that if you want to come and pay your respects you are welcome to do so, but please be prompt, the family wants to get to their private ceremony a little later today. Reporter 15yearold Adrian Gonzalez is expected here in Santa Cruz County court at 8 15 this morning to learn of the charges he is being that he will be facing and possibly enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. Because of the brutal nature in which eightyearold Maddy Madison was murdered the District Attorney has decided to charge her accused killer as an adult. Some of those charges include murder, kidnapping, Sexual Assault and a special circumstance of lying in wait. We charged this individual as an adult with the crimes for which he is responsible. We are going to bring him to justice and at this point there is no plea deal on anything. Reporter this is a picture that gonzalez posted to instagram during the 24 hours Maddy Madison was missing from her santa cruz apartment complex where she and gonzalez were neighbors. New this this morning, flames right along the freeway in the east bay encroaching on the highway. Firefighters kept busy with three separate fires that broke out within minutes of each other in this lay pat. This happened near the same spot where a separate fire burned eight acres where he had. In fact, the latest three from last night just two miles apart, happening in 20 minutes all along highway 24. If you look at the overnight video that we have you can see firefighters working to put out flames and some embers all along highway 24, spanning around oak hill road. These were small fires, all less than an acre but true out ten fire ruse and four battalion chiefs. These overnight fires do seem suspicious because of how close they were if both time and place. This one is a little strange in that its right on the freeway, very visible. So if minute has any information they should give contra costa fire a call and ask to speak to our fire investigators. Reporter now, these are just a couple miles from yesterday mornings eight acre grass fire that forced one family out of its home above highway 24 near Pleasant Hill road. Firefighters still trying to determine the cause of that blaze. Investigators are asking folks to call if they saw anything between highway 24 last night between 10 50 and 11 30. Coming up, a warning thats going out not just to people in the east bay but everyone in the bay area. We have photos and videos taken by an nbc bay area viewer from the back deck of her house. You can see the flames there from the distance. More video taken last night shows cars engulfed as firefighters try to old the fire lines. Were told several buildings are threatened and so par at least one burned down. Right now the wildfire is sweeping through the Morgan Valley on the south side of clearlake in lake county. At least 500 people in the immediate area are under evacuation orders. No word on what sparked that fire. As that fire continues to rage, yesterdays triple digit it temperatures also held to fuel a wildfire still burning east of napa valley not far from lake berryessa. Were talking about the wragg fire. Charring more than 11 square miles. At least 136 structures still threatened and 200 people remain under evacuation orders. Many this returned to to their homes. Emotions are running high for people like barbara comfort whose family owns an olive grove nearby. Anxious, sad, depressed. Very, very stressful. Something you love is being destroyed. Its 60 degrees there and 61 degrees in hayward, in san jose its 63 degrees, livermore this morning starts out at 67 degrees. The high in san jose will be 86. 92 in los gatos. Palo alto 82 degrees and the castro at 75 degrees. In the mid 80s for the north bay, like napa, but santa rosa still mic making it up to 90 degrees, 98 walnut dreek. We could still have one or two spots hitting triple digits again today. Still hot across the bay and this weekend the temperatures come down, the humidity goes up. A train hit and killed a 15th person, the latest death happened tuesday night at the san bruno station. A man walked on to the tracks and a train hit him. If this keeps up cal train says a new record of deaths to be set. The most deaths was set back in 1995, thats when trains hit and killed 20 people. In the meantime some changes are coming to cal train, the air Quality Management district just approved 20 million in funding for electrification project. 29 of cal trains Diesel Locomotives will be switched out for electric models. The change is expected to greatly reduce emissions. An angry mob attacked uber drivers with clubs and stones. This outside of the mexico city airport. Take a look. They started belting the cars, all of this part of a demonstration by licensed taxi drivers to call for a total halt of the Ride Sharing Service is. The organization is asking government scientists to take a closer look at fetal tissue. This coming after videos posted online reportedly show graphic conversations by planned parenthoods medical director about using organs from aborted fetuses for profit. The coast guard is investigating the Mysterious Oil sheen in the ocean there. This happening near golita beach next to uc santa barbara. That incident is about ten miles away from the beach where a broken pipeline spilled more than 100,000 gallons of crude oil back in may.
