This morning they raided his hotel room where he had been staying since earlier this month. State police say he walked into the grand 16 Movie Theater thursday night, bought a ticket to be train wreck but all the while had attention to kill. 21yearold macy brode died within the theater another died at the hospital. Nine others were wounded. We get to the front of the building, a middleaged woman with blood coming out of her leg. Reporter investigators say houser fired 13 rounds from his gun. People in the theater scrambled, among them one woman who pulled the fire alarm, likely saving lives. It didnt take long for people to arrive. When they did, houser was still inside alive. It was apparent he was intent on shooting then escape. What happened is the quick Law Enforcement response forced him back into the theater. At which time he shot himself. Reporter now the task ahead is to figure out why, why did houser do it. As far as that goes right now investigators are inside the Movie Theater piecing together any and every evidence they can find to hopefully begin to answer that question. As for his hotel road they found wigs glasses and other items officials believe he used to try to disguise himself. Im Brandon Walker nbc news. Today the man accused of killing a Hayward Police officers is expected in an Alameda County courtroom. This is the booking photo of mark estrada. He is now in the santa rita county jail after he was treated for a nonlifethreatening injury at an oakland hospital. Yesterday the officerss body ways take to the chapel of the chimes mortuary in hayward. Police also released this video of a car seen in the neighborhood shortly after lunger was killed. Police think this car might be a significant lead in this case. Either it fits in the puzzle and we put it as part of our case or we eliminate and move on to the next thing. The funeral will be held on thursday at a church in castro valley. Now to a tragic scene out of the vallejo where police are investigating a murder suicide. Neighbors say they heard several gunhots coming from the home on songwood drive. Officers found one man shot at the front door. Hes at the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. Neighbors tell us there were several children living in that house. Fortunately from what i know no kids were hurt but sadly there were kids in the house when this happened. Investigators are not releasing the names of the victims. They are also not saying who pulled the trigger. And new developments in the fight against that fire burning in napa county. Crews are making Good Progress thanks to cooler weather conditions, and some very aggressive Fire Fighting as well. The fire remains on 7,000 acres, but now 20 contained. And then by next week as they still deal with that fire the temperatures will be climbing over 100 degrees. So that will make things very treacherous for those crews out there. The wind forecast once again has been very calm through the rest of the day here we are at 5 00 the winds up at napa about 14 miles an hour, so still a light breeze than fan those flames. When officers arrived, they say francis charged at them Still Holding an 8inch knife. Both officers shot francis. Hes in and out recovering and the officers were told were not injured. A big break this morning in a recent deadly shooting in the south bay. Police made two arrests. This happened june 26th in East San Jose near carolyn avenue and pensacola drive. The environmental was a 17yearold who died at the scene. Police say two men from san jose aged 18 and 21 now face murder charges. He put this car up for sale on craigslist and got a car from who he thought was a potential buyer. After going for a test drive, the victim says the robber took off with his car, leaving the woman and child behind. The victim then jumped on the car the woman arrived in breaking her window.
