The other thing will be the very warm temperatures as those showers rotate off to the west in San Francisco. Notice the showers as we head to midnight tonight still in the mid70s in the bay area. Tomorrow morning the chance of showers will continue starting our day off in the low 70s. The air bags are supposed to save lives, not to be the cause to take them. Reporter what makes jewels case different is she rented the honda civic and that car had been under recall since 2009. Right now there is no federal law requiring a Car Rental Company to inform you, the consumer if the car youre about to rent is under a safety recall. The whole point is either the car is safe or its not. Reporter it is illegal for dealers to sell new cars if theyve not repaired a safety defect but that same standard does not apply to rental Car Companies. The way to get their attention is for a jury in los angeles to say what you did was reprehensible reprehensible, what you did was not right and youre going to pay for it. While his grief is overwhelming alexander branningman takes some comfort from the very last text he got from his daughter. I love my life dad. I love my life. Coming up next limiting lawn space. The new restrictions Construction Companies need to know. Lawns in california arent just turning brown these days. Theyll be getting smaller, as well. It will take six months or so for companies to turn things around. Reporter the state Water Commission cut the amount of lawn new homes can have starting december 1st, only 25 of the area around your home can be grass. Thats down from 33 before. Newlyconstructed businesses and schools grass can only be installed in picnic areas, ball fields or recreational areas or on some landscape that uses recycled water. If we continue to use water the current rate and it doesnt rain or we have another drought year well be out of water this time next year. Ball says the measures will likely remain even if the skies open up this winter. I would say that california has always been an arid state and as our population has increased we have become more and more constrained relative to water use. This is the alternative to grass, putting down mulch. Landscapers are focusing on lawn removal and droughtfriendly yards. He says he may never feel confident enough to encourage a customer to go for a big, green lawn. I think well discourage it as much as possible. Ian cole nbc bay area news. Speaking of the drought and the heat and the rain and the lightning, weve been talking a lot about weather. Lets talk some more about it heres meteorologist rob mayeda and its been very warm and muggy out there. All of the midlevel moisture is retaining the heat of the day and well see it tonight with low temperatures in the 70s for much of the bay area now and midlevel clouds on the increase and well see those clouds thicken up and good bet well see some showers or flashes of lightning after sundown out near Mount Hamilton and right now still hot around the trivalley and 94 degrees out by dublin and 84 in oakland and 82 with the high clouds right over San Francisco and earlier, close to 85 degrees from downtown San Francisco and the sea breeze has really come to an end and what is impacting our weather now is the midlevel southerly flow and bringing in all of the clouds and at time some thunderstorms around the peninsula and into the north bay and into this morning and mainly mid and highlevel clouds and that is where the shower activity is right now and theres a lot of it on the Central Coast and this first little batch rotating away from us and a lot of thunderstorms from the sierra and its this batch here that will swing through in the next few hours and we think on the hour by hour radar forecast there from 6 00 to 8 00 tonight and right across the south bay and should see more showers and west of the golden gate around midnight into tomorrow morning and a few scattered showers before another round comes in as we get into tomorrow night. The remnants that was hurricane dolores wrapping off our coast which is turning our moisture that hit Southern California fairly hard and back over toward the bay area so into tomorrow more heat and humidity and with the ongoing chance that well see scattered showers and perhaps a few Thunder Showers and you notice this late tomorrow and up toward the south bay and mainly south of san jose and we may see these shower chances linger into early tuesday afternoon before the moisture and humidity starts to move off toward the east. So look at the temperatures tomorrow morning and 60s and 70s. Lunchtime temperatures again and mostly in the 80s around the bay area including oakland and San Francisco and the best bet for Thunder Showers again tomorrow for the south bay and areas south of San Francisco feeling more like Baja California or Northern California and the bay area and 90s around the north bay and mid90s out toward the trivalley and we will see things change up on tuesday as the sea breeze takes hold and notice the temperatures coming down as the tropical moisture moves on and well see numbers closer to where they should be and south bay temperatures dropping for the middle part of the week and you see it cooling into the north bay and trivalley things pick up as the humidity moves on. By the time we get toward the middle part of the week and next weekend it looks rainfree for now and temperatures climbing up near saturday and sunday and warm temperatures tonight and will be tracking a chance for Thunder Showers on to the evening and of course again tonight at 11 00.
