​​​​​​​NEWLY appointed Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Commissioner General Alphayo Kidata’s public services journey is an interesting recital strewn with elevating and painful experiences.

In the fifth-phase regime under the late president John Magufuli, Kidata served as in the TRA top post from December 2015 to March 2017 when he was appointed Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office
In Sunday’s appointment, President Samia Suluhu Hassan reinstated Kidata as TRA Commissioner General replacing Dr Edwin Mhede, who was appointed to head the tax body by the late Magufuli in June 2019.
