Oxygen Express slated to arrive soon from Bellary, Karnataka, with 40 tonnes of oxygen is eagerly awaited by medical professionals, authorities and citizens in the city, and a trial run for an anticipated smooth operation was conducted at the Khadki railway station on Tuesday.
The oxygen will be sent to hospitals in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and other parts of the district as per requirements from the station.
The trial run was to ensure the approach road to the station that will be used by tankers to ferry the cylinders operates smoothly. Other facilities like readying of rakes, undergears, lighting and security were also checked.
