Within the last 20 minutes, israels foreign minister has responded to a move by the International Criminal courts top prosecutor, calling his request for an arrest warrant for Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu and other israeli leaders a, quote, historic disgrace and vowing to fight back. Weve been tracking this all morning before 5 a. M, the top prosecutor announced the request for arrest warrants for netanyahu, the top leader of hamas, and others. He cited war crimes and crimes against humanity for what is happening in gaza. In a statement, the prosecutor called for the Immediate Release of all hostages. A panel of icc judges will now consider the application for the arrest warrants. The warrants against the israeli politicians marked the first time the icc has targeted the top leader of a close ally of the united states. The countrys president , foreign minister, and several others have been killed in a helicopter crash. They were traveling to an event when the helicopter went down in a rural area overnight. There was very bad foggy weather in northwest iran, where the copter crashed in iran. The president is the second most powerful political figure after Supreme Leader ayatollah ali khamenei. Developing news in the south bay a person is in the hospital after being shot by San Jose Police investigators say this all started when they got a call of a man firing a gun in the neighborhood, prompting officers to open fire. Lena reggie, we know that one man is in the hospital with life threatening injuries this morning after being shot by San Jose Police. Police tell us that they responded to the area along comer drive in eas san jose this is right near the intersection of story road and the capital expressway. Police tell us this call first came in right around 4 00 yesterday afternoon, with reports of a man shooting a firearm. San jose police claim the suspect was still shooting a firearm when they arrived on scene. They say the suspect was hit by officer gunfire and taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and that no officers were shot. Police giving this brief update on scene video evidence. We have to review Body Worn Camera video that we have to look at witnesses we have to interview as well as the officers have yet to be interviewed. So theres still a lot of information we dont know. Were learning things as theyre developing at this time. We dont think theres any other injuries other than the suspect, but we are still canvasing, combing through evidence to determine whether or not there are additional victims. And were asking the public if they saw anything or if they were involved at all prior to police arrival, to please contact the police department. We also spoke with a neighbor living in the apartment complex where the shooting happened. He says he was on his way home when police were arriving and just cop after cop after cop. So, i didnt think they were going to be here though. So when i made the corner came in and i seen everything taped off, it was actually pretty, pretty crazy. It was a little bizarre scene of seeing all the cop cars come here. You know, i have, actually another daughter, so its a little concerning because theyre both little girls and we were constantly taking walks, and, its a little alarming to know that that happened here and police say they will be holding a press conference sometime later today with more information about what happened. A sidewalk mural originally made to oppose israels military campaign in gaza is being defaced by hate speech in San Franciscos noe valley neighborhood. The mural is on a building near nowy street and 24th street. Its been vandalized repeatedly since its creation, with messages that appear to support both proisraeli and propalestinian positions. At least one parent from a nearby daycare told us they dont think its right that their children have to see these images every day. Some neighbors we spoke to disagree, and they dont want the mural touched. The Jewish CommunityRelations Council says they have received numerous complaints about this mural. The message is outrageous to form a blood libel against the Jewish Community. The bloody visuals, the droppings star of david replace the star with a dollar sign. Its a classic trope that jews control the government or some form of manipulation, and it reads like textbook antisemitism. As to what comes next, thats unclear. The mural is on private property and we were unable to reach the owner. Our request for comment to supervisor edelmans office were not returned. A federal judge is reopening the sentencing of david depape on friday. Depape was given 30 years as a sentence in prison after being convicted of attacking congresswoman Nancy Pelosis husband, paul, with a hammer at their San Francisco home. Now, the judge says they will review his sentence again because he didnt get a chance to speak during the sentencing hearing. A new sentencing hearing has been set for tuesday, may 28th. A fire that burned for more than an hour in the north bay destroyed a home that was under construction. These are pictures of the flames that gutted the 1200 square foot structure. This was in calistoga, on frans Valley School road. Crews from four different agencies were called to that fire last night. They did have it under control by 6 p. M. And no one was hurt. A former irs tax fraud investigator from oakland and his brother have been convicted of scamming the covid 19 Paycheck Protection Program for millions of dollars. Frank and Reginald Mosley pleaded guilty to submitting fake applications to get pgp funds. They also admit to recruiting others to do the same thing and then providing kickbacks. In total, these brothers made 3 million off the scheme. They were sentenced to 30 months in federal prison while you were sleeping, a Major Development in the effort to clear the cargo ship that hit Baltimores Francis scott key bridge almost two months ago. Now, amanda, the ship is on the move this morning and kumasi overnight. Crews worked to refloat the ship and begin the slow process of moving it from baltimore shipping channel to its marine terminal. This is a crucial step toward reopening the channel. This step is possible because of a series of controlled explosions that were carried out earlier this month. They disconnected the remaining wreckage of the bridge that had fallen on the ships deck, and freed it. Officials hope todays Development Means they can reopen the shipping channel by the end of the month. Many people are wondering whats next for the ships crew.
