They are vying to replace anna eshoo, who is retiring. The recount from the tied march primary just wrapped up. Evan low and joe simitian had exactly the same votes. The recount shows lo actually beat simitian by five votes, though it seemed that all three would go to the november ballot. A recount was requested by the Santa Clara County registrars office, said recount observers challenge 45 uncounted ballots. The registrar determined seven that were initially uncounted were actually valid. The mix up with that batch had to do with signature matching and boxes. Voters forgot to mark, affirming their citizenship status. There were also some mix ups with other ballots. There were 12 ballots in a batch that werent counted. So that was an error, a human error. We understand were going to, like i said, going to tighten the processes. But that happened in that ballot counting room, and they were able to fix that. And count those ballots. I do suspect, however, that this will continue to be controversial, and they may lose congregations for doing it. Delegates to the United MethodistChurch Conference are also debating whether to replace a Church Doctrine that calls homosexuality incompatible with christian teaching, and to change the definition of marriage from a man and a woman to a union of two people of faith. But increasingly, a nature based design is providing an alternative, and it has significant benefits in the face of sea level rise. A horizontal levee recently opened alongside a new tidal marsh in menlo park. Hundreds of installed plants will help clean the bay waters as the tides surge in and out, experts say. The levees green horizontal edge acts like a stepladder, giving the marshy area room to expand as water levels rise. Its possible for tidal marsh to get drowned out if it cant keep up pace with the rate of sea level rise, and providing these horizontal levee spaces gives them somewhere to grow upward and continue to provide that important habitat. Abc7 news recently toured several facilities that are now preparing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on upgrades to meet tighter state Water Quality regulations for whats discharged into San Francisco bay. These projects are also set to include horizontal levees. Now its our Morning Money report, a big shakeup at peloton Ceo Barry Mccarthy is out, and the company is slashing 400 jobs.
