Heres a live look at sfo where it is cloudy overhead. So a lot of us will begin today with that cloud cover. Well get that sunshine working into the forecast as we get later and later into the day. Right now, temperatures, youre waking up to the upper 40s and the lower 50s as you get you outside on this tuesday. So looking at the day planner, we have that Morning Cloud cover, that fog with us, maybe a little bit of drizzle in spots, but then its all about increasing sunshine as we head into the afternoon. It will be a nice afternoon. The coast though it will feel chilly in the 50s, but away from the coast we lose that marine layer influence. Well go into the 70s. There is no estimated time of opening for those lanes. And a look at drive times you can see from 580 westbound traffic. Tracy to castro valley. Its going to take you about 49 minutes at this hour. An emotional night in San Francisco as hundreds gathered to mourn three family members killed when an suv crashed into a bus stop. The couples baby is still alive but battling lifethreatening injuries at a hospital. Abc seven News Reporter Gloria Rodriguez is here with the tributes from the community. Good morning reggie. The memorial in San Franciscos west portal neighborhood has been growing since his heartbreaking crash over the weekend. It now includes messages from the community and photos of the family killed a mother, father and toddler died when they were hit at a muni bus stop on saturday. They were headed to the zoo. Their other child, a baby, was last listed in critical condition. Hundreds showed up for an emotional vigil last night in their honor, many saying the intersection where the crash happened is confusing and changes need to be made. People dont know where to walk, not to walk. You can see the lights are terrible. You people dont know when you can cross the street. And so theres definite confusion. Yes, mayor london breed and police chief bill scott both showed up last night. The driver, whos been identified as a 78 year old woman, is now facing three felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving. Prosecutors say that theyre analyzing toxicology reports and the vehicles operating system before filing formal charges live in the studio. Gloria rodriguez, abc seven news kumasi. Thank you, gloria. This morning there is a 1,000 reward being offered to anyone who can help find the two people whove been accused of shooting this dog. Marley is recovering, but San Jose Police say they are taking the case very seriously. That wasnt just something to scare off a dog. They were really trying to end a life. And i think its safe to say that we consider all lives equal our furry friends. We want justice for them to abc seven news south bay reporter Laura Martinez has more on the search and the effort to get marley back to full health. Marley, the german shepherd, is recovering in foster care after undergoing intensive medical treatment. San jose police say she was shot in the skull and with minimal leads. Weeks later, theyre now asking the public for help. When someone senselessly uses a firearm. I think that just goes to show the maliciousness of the case. San jose police say it happened around six in the morning on january 11th. They found marley around here off anne darling drive and mckee road, the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers program is now offering 1,000 reward for anyone with information. One of the suspects is described as a hispanic adult male in his 20s, thin build and at the time was wearing a yellow weather jacket and jeans and unfortunately, we dont have a clear description of our second suspect. After the shooting, ten month old marley received Emergency Care at san jose animal care and services got x rays, found that she was very fortunate, that the bullet had hit any major blood vessels. The community heard about marleys story and raised enough funds so she could undergo a specialized oral surgery at uc davis veterinary medicine. You can see that the bullet came in at the top of the snout, exited through the palate. The team at uc davis manufactured splints inside her mouth. She had to have. For weeks, shes been in foster, and the foster parents reported that even with the device in her mouth, she still wanted to play, so they had to take toys away because she didnt remember she had a broken jaw. By the end of february, doctor carter said the splints were removed and marleys bones are healing amazingly. We looking at her now. Other than missing a toe, you would never know what this dog went through. The shooting hasnt dampened marleys sweet, wellmannered and loving spirit. Shes expected to make a full recovery. As sad as it is to see them come in that way, we get to follow their journey and make them better. And then when we see that they get adopted by this loving family, thats thats the reward. Thats what makes us show up every day to keep at it. In san jose, lauren martinez, abc seven news. Your voice, your vote. Election day was two weeks ago, but its still a close contest as they count the votes for californias proposition one. At the moment, its yes on one by the smallest of margins, 50. 1 to 49. 9. Thats less than a 20,000 vote difference out of more than 7 million votes cast. If proposition one passes more than 6 billion in bond money would go toward Mental Health treatment facilities, Governor Newsom says that would be an additional 11,000 beds, and it could help accommodate the homeless population. And so you really saw low levels of turnout this spring. And that was dangerous when you want to put forward an agenda item that maybe needs more disadvantaged and working class people voting, my hunch is that its going to squeak by, but its only a hunch. Hes having trouble finding the money to post bond in his civil fraud judgment, he was found liable for inflating the value of his properties to get favorable loans. Amanda is at the live desk with more on what his attorneys are saying. Amanda . Yeah, kumasi a judge has ordered donald trump to post a 464 million bond. His lawyers say trump is financially stable, but even with that, he cannot find the money to pay his bond. They say securing the money is a practical impossibility. Trumps lawyers also say they are facing insurmountable difficulties after approaching more than 30 Insurance Companies for help and being rejected each time, trump was found liable for fraudulently inflating the value of his properties to get Favorable Bank loans, he is appealing the ruling and has until next week to secure a bond if he does not find the money. New York Attorney general Letitia James can ask the court to start seizing his properties. Its also possible that trump could try to sell his buildings to raise the money, but his attorneys say that kind of fire sale would result in losses that wouldnt be able to be recovered. His lawyers are asking the court to allow him to post a smaller bond. Reggie thank you so much. Live now from sfo for at least the 10th time in just two weeks, a United Airlines flight has reportedly had a concerning issue, the chronicle reports. A flight going from sfo to osaka, japan, had to go back to the gate yesterday because of an engine problem. The boeing 777 was eventually able to take off, and it made it to osaka overnight. Right now, several of these incidents united has experienced recently happened on flights to or from sfo. That includes the plane that lost a wheel during takeoff and a hydraulic leak on a flight from dallas fort worth. Weve reached out to united about the latest incident. Former Public Utilities commission chief harlan kelly got sentenced yesterday to four years in prison. Last year, kelly was found guilty of fraud. Prosecutors said he accepted bribes and misrepresented debts in a loan application. Kelly oversaw an annual budget of 1 billion. The judge also sentenced kelly to three years of supervised release and community service. Kelly apologized for his actions. A defense attorney who was attacked by the man he was representing in court yesterday says he will be back in the courtroom to continue defending him today. This happened inside a martinez courtroom. The defense attorney was stabbed in the face and in the head when his client broke free from his restraints and grabbed the lawyers pen. That man then charged at the prosecutor before being taken down by a sheriffs deputy. The attack was witnessed by the jury, who will soon determine that mans guilt. He is accused of murdering his exgirlfriend. The attack attorney told our Media Partners at the Bay Area News Group that it was, quote, no big deal and says he plans on being back in court today to represent his client in the south bay. Another possible utility rate hike, one of the areas largest water providers is looking to get a rate increase approved by the california Public Utilities commission. If this is approved, san jose water would increase its rates over the next three years, the utility says. Average customers could see up to a 13 increase by next year. San jose water says increasing expenses and Infrastructure Investments are the reason behind these proposed rate hikes and customers say they have heard this before. So they say that were going to lay 24 miles of pipes because theyre bad and old, and theyre only able to lay about 18 miles of pipes. And yet every year they ask for an increase over what they got last year. San jose water acknowledges the rate hikes may be tough on households. The Public Utilities commission could approve san jose waters request in december. Its one of the most picturesque landscapes in all of california, but now big sur will temporarily close the only free Public Camping site because of poor conditions. The campground is located at san carpoforo beach, which is right off the pacific coast. Starting april 1st, the California Coastal commission will close the site to visitors for two years to reset the conditions. I guess it was pretty gross. Officials say campers left too much trash, human waste and illegal campfire rings, damaging the habitats. On april 22nd, we come together to celebrate earth day. Leading up to that, San Franciscos aquarium of the bay at pier 39 is hosting a special contest. If you win the contest, it can actually send your earth day poster to the moon. It comes here friday with a cold front moving through friday does look pretty wet and windy into the afternoon and the evening. And then this low just kind of sits and spins over Northern California saturday and into sunday will be in and out of those showers now looking at the rain and snow forecast locally for the rain, probably half of an inch to more than an inch in the north bay. Many local giants fans are unhappy with this news. When the giants play their home opener game in just a few weeks time. Many things will look the same as last year, but one key thing will be a little different leading off for San Francisco Center Fielder number seven marvin benard, longtime p. A. Announcer renel brooksmoon will no longer be on the mic. A lot of us grew up with her as the voice of, you know, camille then going to the giants game. So we grew up with her. You know, she shes like family. Mom. Odell is a lifelong giants fan who was disappointed monday when he heard that the team and the iconic announcer had parted ways. Brooksmoon has served as the voice of the giants for 24 seasons and has been a face of not just the team, but also San Francisco as a whole. For years, the broadcaster has worked with multiple charities and local organizations around the city. Shes been a regular volunteer. She always shows glide love and loves to speak to clients and especially youth whenever she could. Francesca delgado jones is with glide. She tells me brooksmoon has worked with them for years, inspiring many with her groundbreaking career. She is a wonderful trailblazer, you know, going into a field that was predominant male, that was a predominantly male dominated field. She actually broke into that and she brought that same energy to glide and advocating for others who couldnt advocate for themselves. On monday night, brooksmoon took to ecs to thank both the giants and their loyal fans, saying in part, dearest giants fans, thank you for wrapping me up in the biggest hug today. It has been the honor of my life to serve as your pa little comfort for hundreds of giants faithful though, who say going to the games just wont be the same without her. A lot of us will walk into the stadium with a cloud over our heads and almost like a feeling of guilt for being there and her not being there. Now, over the course of her career, brooksmoon has been the pa announcer for more than 2000 games now. As of now, the giants have not named her replacement, but they will be naming the announcer. An extremely emotional night in San Francisco as loved ones and the community gathered to remember three People Killed over the weekend in the west portal neighborhood, a couple and their young child died when they were hit at a bus stop. Loved ones of the family showing up to that vigil last night, as well as hundreds of Community Members and San Franciscos mayor and chief of police. It happened on the sidewalk where they were killed, where a memorial of signs and photos now sits. Many at the vigil sharing hugs. Heartbroken about the death of a mother, father and their toddler while their baby fights for their life. The family was waiting for the bus at a stop in the citys west Portal Community on saturday, when they were struck by a vehicle. They were on their way to the zoo, the tragedy impacting hundreds who showed up, including the mayor and the police chief who left flowers. Just let the family know that there are people who saw their story and who want them to know that we are thinking about them now.
