Some patchy fog from oakland, San Francisco up through the north bay, and then sunny and our warmest day of the week today, mid 70s. Gilroy santa rosa could be some of the warmest locations. Its going to take some time for the fog to pull back though, and then well look at a level one system on friday lasting through the first weekend of spring. So beneficial rain headed our way. We are above average everywhere except for oakland at 86 of average, and looking at over 32in of rain in santa rosa. So were doing well. Not as good as we were compared to last year, but if we look at the snowpack, 28 in january, theory right now, 104 of average, and well be adding to these totals because the next incoming system, several of them , theyre going to be cold coming from the pacific northwest. And we could see maybe a foot of snow or more in the sierra nevada. This is very preliminary. And by about wednesday or so, well really fine tune the numbers. But we are looking at about maybe a half inch to three quarters of an inch more in the north bay as we get into that friday system and into next weekend. Highs today, 70 in oakland should be in the low 60s, 74 in fremont. Look for mid 70s in our inland valleys. Low 60s, half moon bay, breezy onshore winds in the afternoon in the accuweather seven day forecast and sunshine as we get to the first day of spring. Cooler as we see increasing clouds, but just marginally through the middle of the week. Level one system friday. Centers for Disease Control and prevention say marriages in the United States are up and divorce rates are down. The marriage rate in 2022 was 6. 2 per 1000 people in the u. S, which is up from 5. 1 per capita recorded in 2020. With covid playing a factor in the drop, the nations divorce rate is also down 2. 4 people per 1000 people in 2022, compared with four people per 1002 thousand. So one big change is how people think about marriages, with people shifting away from romantic marriages to compassionate marriages, which means people are increasingly wedding a partner who is more likely to be a best friend than a passion partner. Sonoma, fremont, palo alto. So certainly some cool spots. And you saw that video before of the marathon in oakland waking up to the low clouds and fog. Well have that again. So its like a summertime pattern with the fog, the clearing, the breezy afternoon winds and then those warmer inland valleys. So gorgeous today. Temperatures just fairly cooler tomorrow slightly. And then thatll take us through the workweek. Level one system arrives on friday, and this system series of them coming in from the pacific northwest, bringing much cooler air our way. So this is the friday system, another wave of rain moves on in on saturday. Looks to clear out on sunday, and were looking for mountain snow as well. So preliminary estimates bring anywhere from about three quarters of an inch along the coastal hills, maybe more than that up to the north. And this is still the extended outlook when we get closer by about midweek, we can fine tune the details and the timing. But you should know the rain coming back on friday with the much cooler air. 75 in santa clara with 74 today in sunnyvale on the peninsula, youve got the low 60s at the coast.
