Also on the bay bridge toll plaza, you can see it is very, very foggy out there. This morning. The metering lights are still not on right now. So it is moving pretty smoothly out there this morning. We do have a dense fog advisory in effect for the north bay this until 10 a. M, very similar to yesterday morning. We have low visibility, zero miles in petaluma, a quarter from santa rosa, napa, novato even along the coast right now, we do have dense fog. So we are starting out with some thick fog this morning across parts of the region. 50s and 60s out the door right now for your current temperatures. Heres 9 a. M. Were breaking down that fog, pulling it back to the coastline. A warming trend gets underway here today. So later on this afternoon, temperatures bouncing a bit above average for this time of the year. 70 and low 80s around the bay shoreline, mid 80s and our warmest lots inland up to 76 in oakland today. San francisco da Brooke Jenkins is apologizing for a tweet that she posted about one of the protests that took place in the city over the weekend. In the tweet, jenkins described the event as a pro hamas rally and blamed protesters for death to israel. Graffiti left behind in the downtown area. Jenkins has since deleted that tweet after she says members of the muslim and arab communities reached out. Jenkins wrote, i listened and understand their concerns. And as a result deleted the tweet. And again, this is also contingent with your city diversity policy, where you need to denounce this, that type of behavior and hate speech by policy. Handwriting actually activates different parts of the brain that do not get activated when printing block letters or typing. Can you read what this says . Learning how to read and write in cursive is going to be new for students and for some teachers. For 13 years, our Teacher Education programs have said cursive is not part of the standards we have quite a chunk of teachers who have not taught it and who havent needed to teach it, and some who probably were not taught it themselves in english and language arts, private tutor said its important to be open to Different Things for different kids. A lot of the neurodiverse and learning disabled kids ive worked with actually do better with cursive. Ive read that it has something to do with a different part of the brain, that the same part that you use for drawing and those flowing movements can really help the kids. It happened just after three this morning at the palmetto apartment house on california street. You can see the impact of the crash. It left a huge hole right in the front of the building. One person was taken away on a stretcher by emergency responders. We dont know how how bad those injuries are now developing in israels war with hamas. Overnight, israeli airstrikes killed at least 71 people in the gaza strip. And those strikes included attacks on rafah, an area in the southern part of gaza near a Border Crossing into egypt. Now, this is an area where many people escaping the north have gone in an effort to leave gaza as the crisis grows. The white house has announced President Biden will be visiting israel tomorrow. Some of his top staff are already in that area, including the us military commander in the middle east and secretary of state Antony Blinken. This morning there are diplomatic efforts to get the rafah Border Crossing open and operating. Egypt has said that the crossing is not officially closed but was made inoperable because of israeli airstrikes. And cecily essentially trapping people in gaza. People in gaza have been pleading for food, water and fuel after all, routes out of the territory were closed ahead of a looming Ground Invasion by israeli troops. Hospitals are on the verge of losing electricity. The lives of thousands of patients are threatened. Everything is getting worse. Were really exhausted and we cant tolerate more. But we cant do nothing. We have to stay in our houses. Hospital Officials Say many of the wounded patients are children and women. The United Nations reports that roughly 1 Million People in gaza are displaced because of the conflict.
