Rid of these tollbooths. Why the heck does it take so long . John grubb, the council coo, says tollbooths at the plaza have been in place since the 1950s and dont fit with the way people drive now. He says caltrans and toll authorities should have removed the tollbooths as soon as they stopped being used. And the impact is can be really catastrophic and tragic where someone is dying, you know, crashing into tollbooths. Following mondays crash, he says they should remove them immediately. Caltrans says they are currently evaluating how to fix it. Were still waiting to come up with a game plan of how we can remove that damaged equipment and replace it. But the toll booths arent the only issue. According to grubb, the way the traffic is jammed leads to an increased risk of car pollution. Its now the largest source of pm 2. 5 emissions. The state needs to make changes to the bridge or else it will get more dangerous for drivers as we need to be able to do stuff a lot more quickly and we need to think about things holistically. One suspect was caught on the bridge, while others were eventually found in the nearby neighborhood. He says the College Admissions process is extremely competitive, but he says there are other options out there to land a spot at a top college and at a company like google. Koh is not surprised that colleges rejected zhangs application. Asian male computer science. The probabilities are darwinian much worse than for any other demographic. Koh says the other possible factor is he came across as too unidimensional for most universal uses. Koh says all the sciences, including engineering, are very competitive programs for many reasons. It is getting much, much more challenging for asians to be accepted into competitive stem programs, koh says. What xiong did was truly exceptional. The fact that he was able to get this job while being selftaught, mccoy says the admissions system needs to change. There absolutely needs to be reformed. The Playing Field can be leveled by universal cities being much more transparent about what the standards are and just advertising it publicly to everybody. And if they were to do that, then you dont need private college consultants, let alone school counselors, to help students navigate it. Students can get ahead, too, by being resourceful, heard a lot of great books out there. Reddit, frankly, is actually a very good resource. And so there are some great books out there that students can read and really give them a head start. And Community Colleges are a big help. We talked to a College Counselor at San Jose City college says students should definitely consider california Community Colleges, especially their stem major. Why many universities are impacted, meaning that theyre getting a lot more applicants than they have spots to serve. So this is a great way to start. And students have a better probability of getting to their university of choice by coming through the Community Colleges than straight out of high school. And counselors remind students that Community Colleges offer a great deal. They have the lowest tuition in the country, koh says. Now, these usually occur when the Cable Company and channel owner cant agree on the price to be paid for the service. They had recovered their luggage, but they basically told us that, you know, is there a chance for us getting our computers back . The ipad pinged this location in vietnam, 8836 miles away. And that laptop containing lindas work as a photographer was long gone. I thought i was going to hyperventilate. Police say they caught the man responsible for the alleged break in, 26 year old robert sansa of San Francisco. The criminal complaint alleges on that day, september 1st, he broke into the couples rental car. Another rental car and a San FranciscoPolice Department bait car. They may be breaking into cars that are put out there by the San FranciscoPolice Department. The police chief announced the new bait car campaign, the week before sansas arrest. I was there in Court Last Week when he pled not guilty and set a trial date. And ive been researching sansas Court Records in several counties over the past five years. Sansa has been arrested more than a dozen times. He has convictions for car burglary, grand theft, hit and run, shoplifting and more. He was on probation at the time. Hes accused of breaking into the olivias rental car. Robert sansa has also been accused of evading arrest on several occasions, trying to drive away, but slamming into cars, causing injuries and putting anyone on those streets in danger. February 2nd of last year, Police Responded to the japantown garage for a report of an auto burglary. Officers tried to detain sansa as the suspect, but he fled, got in his car, ran over an officers foot and hit a parked car. Less than three months later, Court Records show that police tried to arrest him in north beach. He was driving a stolen vehicle, reportedly used in multiple car break ins that day. The police sort of trapped him. This is a one way street. He they trapped him down there. Neighbors watched as sansa hit the two patrol cars, drove onto the sidewalk and took out this staircase. And suddenly the whole house starts shaking and my wife starts yelling, someone just hit your vespa. His vespa was destroyed. He had to replace it. The complaint says sansa hit another patrol car a block away, injuring an officer, sideswiped another house. He made it to columbus and broadway, where he hit a civilians car, injuring them. He left the car and ran into chinatown, where officers finally arrested him. At first, prosecutors charged sansa with several counts of assault upon a peace officer with a deadly weapon, hit and run, evading an officer with willful disregard and a misdemeanor possession of burglar tools in a plea deal. All the charges got dismissed except for a single count of evading an officer. I am. Im. There is no way a person doing all of that damage should be let off with just evading the police union. President tells me deals like the one sansa got do little to prevent future crimes. Why is it that we continue to give ice breaks and passes to people who just really are just showing they do not want to do the right thing . At that same News Conference announcing the bait car campaign, the district attorney, brooke jenkins, promised to prosecute car break ins. More aggressively. Thats what we are trying to reinstill in San Francisco right now, is that not only will you be caught, but when you are prosecuted, there will be a consequence for that behavior thats a start for dan and linda. Republicans today nominated their pick to be the next speaker of the House Majority leader Steve Scalise was chosen by secret ballot beating out judiciary chairman jim jordan, who was endorsed by former president donald trump.
