Pumpkin weighoff with a look at what we can expect. Good morning, lena. Good morning, kamasi. This is the super bowl of pumpkin playoffs and its happening right here in Half Moon Bay in less than an hour. We are joined now by last years reigning champion. This is travis gienger. Hes coming here all the way from anoka, minnesota. He won last year and he also won in 2020. So travis, what brings you back for maybe a potential third win . Yeah, were hoping. Were hopeful. But you never know until it gets on the scale. So, yeah, its just a Great Community of people out here. And the town goes nuts over giant pumpkins. It really does. It really does. Thats kind of the understatement this morning. But i want to talk about your drive over here. I realize you drove some 33 miles and or 33 hours through the night to get here. Tell us about the journey, bringing this pumpkin here. So bringing a pumpkin, 35 hours is no joke. I mean, you got San Francisco traffic. You know how that is. And you know, youre dodging bob and weave and motorcycles. But yeah, we got it here. So wow. What are you looking forward to most this year . I guess its just seeing the people and putting smiles on peoples faces when they see the size of these things. Theyre like, how did that even grow . So wow. And you were trying to break your own record. I remember last year, your pumpkin, we were here for that, weighed in at just over 2500. And i think the 60 pounds. Yeah, 2560. So this should be close. Well see. Yeah, it could be close. Yeah, it could go quite heavy and it could go a little lighter. Who knows. But it feels nice. So. And organizers have said that they actually had to purchase a completely new to scale. Do you know anything about that . Yeah, i said this things not going away on a 4x4 scale. And are you hopeful that you will shatter your own records and potentially be a world record . Yeah yeah. I mean, theres always that hope. I mean, were right there. So so its just these things can go 500 pounds bigger or smaller. So so theres that range. But and my last question, what is your secret to growing the perfect giant pumpkin . A lot of water, a lot of fertilizer and a lot of care throughout the year. I mean, its 184 days of straight labor of love. Amazing. Well, good luck to you, travis.
