We saw people out here yesterday already. Her bus is here surrounded by flowers. They are setting up for the events as well for flags are flying at half staff in her memory today. The body of the late San Francisco mayor and us senator will lie in state inside the rotunda of city hall from nine in the morning until 7 p. M, 7 p. M. Many are hoping to see both democrats and republicans in attendance as it would not be a surprise for this to be one of the places where you see people bridge the political divide and come together to celebrate a life because one of the things she has always been able to do is reach across the aisle. Dianne feinstein has been such a integral part of the history of this city. And so sort of theres these moments living in San Francisco where you just witness history, and i think this will be a part of that. Senator feinstein is remembered for her strength, leading San Francisco after the assassination of George Moscone and harvey milk at city hall. She was the citys first woman mayor and the first woman president of the San Francisco board of supervisors. And tomorrow, her Memorial Service is going to be held here at the steps of city hall. Kaiser permanente employees is walking off the job demanding several things, including higher pay. These workers here at this walnut creek location just walked off the job about 30 minutes ago. And as you can see behind me, their picket lines are already well underway. You can hear the loud music. You can see their balloons. You can see their picket lines. And they are ready to have their voices heard. This comes despite Union Leaders and kaiser management working through the night at the bargaining table, trying to come up with a last minute compromise. As kaiser told us around 4 a. So, yes, i am frustrated for that reason that patient care is suffering because as leadership refuses to bargain in good faith, i fight you so. But kaiser says they are prepared. They have assured patients their hospitals and ers will remain open even if some Nonemergency Services might have to be rescheduled. Now, this strike is only expected to last for three days. Its expected to end at 6 a. M. On saturday day, although many of the employees out here that ive talked to say they hope it ends much sooner than that. We now know another car was involved. Police confirmed that they are searching for the driver of a black sedan who they say hit a woman as she was crossing the street on fifth and market monday night in San Francisco. That driver immediately took off. But after that impact a selfdriving cruise car rolled over that person. Abc seven news spoke with an expert who says selfdriving engineers try to account for every scenario, but most likely couldnt have avoided this case. Sometimes, though, things happen so quickly that that there is simply nothing you can do, no matter how well you are tracking all of the other road users around you. The woman who was hit had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Theres no update yet on her condition. And investigation now underway into a San Francisco public works employee caught on video knocking over a Street Vendors cart at fishermans wharf, sending its content ice everywhere. The San Francisco Public Works Department confirmed this was a food vending operation that took place sunday. They said the Health Department directed them to impound carts. Now, thats something thats been happening for over a month now. Street vendors say they feel mistreated and a county supervisor denounced the act and confirmed that the city street vending ordinance is there to check that people have receipts of items they are selling. But that doesnt include food. At this point, were still waiting on public works to issue their orders on how theyre going to issue permits for food vending. So at this moment, there are no permanent food vendors in San Francisco. San franciscos department of Public Health says they do require a permit for Street Vendors to sell food in San Francisco. And the south bay. There are now multiple investigations, is looking into a san jose Daycare Center where three kids fell into a pool on monday and two of them died. They were both one year old girls. A third child found in the pool was rescued and is expected to recover for these drownings. Happened at the happy , happy daycare on fleetwood drive in the Almaden Valley area.
