Newsom has previously said the state of california will independently review the efficacy and safety of the vaccine candidates and this has been happening behind the scenes. So far, the west coast vaccine safety board has reviewed phase one and phase two data of the pfizer and moderna vaccines and they have no concerns so far. So, some really reassuring news there. And on that timeline as to when exactly mass vaccinations could be happening for the general public. Heres a look at where we stand in the bay area. Most people are under the purple tier and that 10 00 p. M. Curfew. Only three counties are not and that is marin, San Francisco and san mateo. So, the assumption is that San Mateo County will move into the purple tier and were expecting that announcement today. As you mentioned, san mateo, San Francisco and marin counties are the only counties in the bay area that are not in the purple. They are in the red tier. That means they can eat inside a restaurant and dining rooms can hold 25 of their capacity. It means indoor gyms can be open, movie theaters and museums and that all changes. People who live or work here say they are bracing for the change. As long as it keeps people safe is fine. It is what it is. Deal with it. I think it makes life difficult. But we dont know. Were not a doctor. We have to go by what they say. But its hard. Especially with businesses. The purple tier bans indoor social gatherings. So, if thi today, that means indoor thanksgiving plans with people outside your family will need to be changed. Restaurants will only be allowed to serve outside. Restaurants that have probably already ordered all the food they thought they would need for thanksgiving. Now, right now in this county, you can stay out past 10 00. But just a few blocks that way you get to palo alto and the curfew goes into effect. They have to be in at 10 00 p. M. The thinking is this county will switch over to purpal ale and t curfew applied here, as well. We should learn that later today from that press conference from the state. It would help save lives until we got a vaccine and now were learning how soon that could happen. Were talking weeks not months until the first people here in california will be able to receive that vaccination. So, were learning that the vaccine would be distributed in phases according to Governor Newsom in a pres conference on monday. The vaccines will not be distributed by the state but shipped directly to health care providers. And people in assisted living and First Responders were learning they would be in the first group of people to get vaccinated and now the state is getting a plan in place to get the roughly 2. 4 Million Health care workers in the state vaccinated. It shouldnt surprise anybody that the phase one vaccination Distribution Plan turns a prioritization is focusing first and foremost on our Health Care Workers. These truly essential workers. Now youre likely wondering when could you actually get that vaccine. The governor said mass distributhe state would not hapl spring or summer of 2021.
