All right, lisa, we were just talking about this rain yesterday, and its going to be coming down in parts of the north bay. The wind, in fact, anywhere from a third of an inch to over three quarters of an inch. I wish i could say that for the rest of the bay area but certainly less for many of you in the east bay and south bay, maybe a tenth in San Francisco. But more is on the way, a slightly stronger system arriving tuesday, may linger into wednesday, as we look at live doppler 7 right now it is about the fog this morning, a dense fog advisory throughout much of the bay area. It was six miles in oakland, two miles in santa rosa. Look at petaluma, just getting a little bit better there but it was down to nothing before. And were looking at reduced visibility in napa, eight miles on the coast, with five to six Miles Mountain view and san jose. So do be careful. We have the moist ground, the light winds, even a slight east wind allowing for even some of that fog to be pushed in from the Central Valley but its all about a dry north westerly flow today, High Pressure builds in, a lot of sun on the way, the view from mt. Tam, looks nice, doesnt is, 50 in San Francisco, 46 in oakland, chilly for you with 41 in Mountain View, 45 in half moon bay, nice one here from san rafael. The wind was at it yesterday and the rain coming down for much of the afternoon, 35 santa rosa, 39 in napa for concord and livermore, mid to upper 40s, a cool afternoon, but nice with a lot of sunshine, a few cumulus clouds, slightly below average, warming it up for the next several days, its warmer this morning, in san jose and livermore, but cooler from napa to novato to santa rosa and looking at the fog here in San Francisco. So it is out there for the next several hours, be careful, the warming trend as we get out of the 50s, into the 60s today, even some 70s tomorrow, and then rain arriving tuesday morning, a slightly stronger system but it is a fast mover. The rest of the day today, sunshine, maybe a few cumulus clouds, this is sunday where the clouds increase, and we might see a few drops here from Sonoma County, in maybe far northern marin county with higher clouds, its a weak system but thats as far south as it gets. The rest of us will be warming up. Take you into tuesday when we expect the rain to arrive in the morning. So it looks like a sloppy end of the commute and by the afternoon, the afternoon commute is wet, into the evening hours weve got snow in the mountains, it lingers into your wednesday, and then well be looking at dry conditions for the rest of the workweek. So rainfall amounts looking kind of impressive, anywhere from a half inch to inch tuesday into wednesday and then today looking at highs from the upper 50s, which is certainly cool for this city. North westerly winds, out today, allowing for about 64 in concord, santa rosa, 63 in san jose, and the accuweather sevenday forecast, counting on the sun to warm us up a bit today, looking at near 70 inland tomorrow, maybe a sprinkle in the north bay, the warming continues on monday, level one system tuesday and wednesday, wet and windy. With perhaps another inch in the north bay, maybe a quarter of an inch elsewhere. Were drying out thursday, and friday. So it is a late start, but a start, nonetheless, liz, for some rain, welcome rain headed our way. Lisa, thank you. Reporter we know the Holiday Shopping season is going to be different this year, fewer and socially distanced door buster specials in a Holiday Shopping season thats already begun. So how do you play the shopping game this year . I sat down with Consumer Reports deal editor samantha gordon, rule number one, start shopping now. The best way to get the best deals is to shop all month long. So you dont want to wait and buy everything all at once. If you buy a few things here and there you can take advantage of these different sales. Reporter this year the deals will be pretty much the same in stores and online, so theres no reason to venture out if you would rather not, which brings us to rule number two. Keep track of prices. Now, that sounds like a lot of work, and in the past it has been. But since youre watching 7 on your side right now youll know the Consumer Reports is making it easier this year. In realtime, samanthas team is finding and posting the best prices. So over at consumerreports. Org we are looking at all of the best deals, we are updating our content constantly so we can help you find the best deals more easily, our website displays all of the current prices and it actually displays them at different retailers so you can see the different prices available at a glance. Now to a warning thats never been more important. Listen up. Rule number three, keep track of shipping times and distances. For the most part retailers are going to have the same or similar prices on these items, so the difference in where you decide to buy may often fall to how quickly theyll be able to ship something to you. Reporter im Michael Finney, 7 on your side. Visibility anywhere from nothing in novato, quarter of a mile in napa, so with that northwesterly wind were cool to start out, 9 00, mainly low 50s, a few upper 40s, by about 1 00 its all about the sun and a few high clouds, numbers in the low 60s, slightly below average for some. The cardinal lost that game, four players sat out because of a positive covid test believed to be the qb mills, turns out it was a false positive. He could have played all along. Stanford is hosting colorado today, the cardinal will have mills at qb. Soggy conditions at the masters, rain delays and nice soft greens that golfers are enjoying. First and second round action at augusta because of weather delays will start with tiger woods, second hole from the bunker, and this is agonizingly close on the lip. Oh, shot a 68. Even on the day. Tied for 22nd. Through ten holes. Rory mcilroy, first shot on 16, resuming round one in the soup, rallied for a 66, made the cut dustin johnson, fourway lead, the ball just sticks. 79 under, justin thomas, the approach on 15, defying the law of physics, the ball is moving, its moving, and then it is not. Hes tied with abraham ancer and Cameron Smith as play was halted. The Miami Marlins made history, theyve hired kim ang as their new general manager, why is that a big deal . She becomes the first female gm and the first asianamerican gm in the sport. Ang has been in baseball for more than two decades, she is very highly regarded, previously worked as assistant gm for the yankees and dodgers, working with teams that have made the playoffs eight times and also won three world series titles. The warriors have unveiled an ambitious plan to get fans back into chase center next season, it involves rapid covid testing on site with the team picking up the 30 million cost, this plan known as operation dub nation would have to be approved by local Health Officials but the club has been working on this proposal since the pandemic started. As luck would have it joe lakep has his masters degree in epidemiology. So he became immersed in the science early on. And the plan we have is different in one fundamental way from all the other partial stadium or arena openings youve seen around the world and thats that were adding the element of testing. Hopefully it works, and other teams and other leagues can use the warriors blueprint as a model to go forward. Thats a wrap on morning sports, have a great weekend, everybody, im larry beil. All right, sounds good, and lisa, a little rain is still expected on tuesday, but that might be it. Thats right, north bay has a chance to dry out. They had decent rain amounts yesterday, a lot of sunshine on the way for everybody, and, in fact, tomorrow as well, except if youre in the far north bay, well get to that in just a moment. A dense fog advisory until 9 00 this morning. Visibility about a quarter of a mile in napa, petaluma and were about six miles in oakland, san jose five miles in Mountain View and a little bit of it coming into the east bay. And looking at visibility pretty good, if you go up in height where we have some pretty good live cameras but High Pressure building in, a dry north westerly flow on the way today, pretty view from my friend serena, thank you for these shots this morning where were looking at flat winds here in San Francisco, you can see the fog in the distance, 46 in oakland, 48 in san jose, 43 half moon bay, another nice view from our pier 39 camera where San Francisco will be shy of 60 degrees, but at least you have the sun, right, out of the 50s, look at that santa rosa temperature at 35, 37 novato, 48 by the delta, north to northeast winds, pulling in a little bit of that tule fog from our east bay. Well be with some of that fog for a while in the north bay. And its cold with 4 to 8 degrees cooler, 5 to 6 degrees warmer from east bay to south bay. You can see some of the clouds here from our Golden Gate Bridge camera, so foggy in spots, warming trend begins today, it continues right through monday, and then rain arriving on tuesday, lingering through wednesday. Heres the way it looks through the rest of the day today, you dont see any clouds, well see a few cumulus clouds throughout the afternoon, otherwise mostly sunny, this is your sunday, increasing high clouds from the north bay, you can see a few sprinkles here, so weak weather system could drop a little bit of rain from Sonoma County, otherwise were in the 70s in some spots tomorrow. Lets take you through tuesday where were looking at morning rain overspreading the bay area, into the south bay. This is a quick mover but its a little stronger than yesterdays system, so perhaps a half inch to an inch in the north bay with maybe a quarter to a half inch elsewhere, hopefully, with that mountain snow in the sierra nevada, then you see it does linger into your wednesday. After that, were dry. So it would be nice to get a stronger system on the way, but at least theyre coming our way, right, were not looking at any big ridges of High Pressure as we look at the amount, so far, were looking at anywhere from about an inch in novato, maybe three quarters of an inch in oakland, several days out here, but hoping for a half inch in the san ma roan valley, highs today with a little bit of fog offshore, cool numbers mid to upper 50s, San Francisco mid60s. Over in oakland, about 63 in san jose. And the accuweather sevenday forecast were looking at the milder weather today, with some sun. Even milder for your sunday. Maybe a sprinkle north, looking at monday, for the warmer trend to continue and then a level one system arrives on tuesday into wednesday, and looking at some sunshine as we get into thursday and friday. So i know at my house, rain was really coming down. But other folks not so lucky. So hopefully well get that next system in here a little more widespread for tuesday. That would certainly be nice. Lisa, thank you. A vallejo artist and Coffee Roaster is celebrating the historic moment of Vice President elect Kamala Harris by creating a cough tee brew for her. It is reduced the most, the visibility with cold numbers in the 30s there, warming trend begins today for mainly numbers near 60, and then looking at rain returning by tuesday. Upper 50s San Francisco, 61 in fremont, 63 in livermore, 64 santa rosa. The accuweather sevenday forecast mild again tomorrow, clouds in the north bay, though, by monday, more sunshine, temperatures warming up still, and then here comes the rain, slightly stronger system, level one monday, tuesday and wednesday, i should say, so were looking forward to that, with upwards of maybe an inch in the north bay.
