Three months stiince the state first rolled out the reopening plan the fourtier plan as we all know it and now we expect several counties to take a step backwards into more restrictive categories in that reopening plan. In a News Conference yesterday, on monday governor gavin newsom hinted that Alpine County and Shasta County could be forced to go backwards and perhaps even shut down some businesses. Its unclear if other counties will join those on that list. The governor said while the Positivity Rate here in california is right around 3. 7 and that may sound good relative to other states. Just a few weeks ago, the Positivity Rate in california was 2. 5 . Much lower. People are letting their guard down. Theyre taking their masks off. Theyre starting to get together outside of their household cohorts. Theyre starting to see businesses reopen and were starting, again, to see more people mixing as it gets colder. In that household that matters so its not a surprise that we see household gatherings as a major source of transmission but at the same point, its a place we can make important end roads and our own choices can reduce that transmission. Dr. Mark ghaly you just heard from there, the health and Human Services secretary for the state Contact Tracing are finding private home gatherings are the top list of transmission and we can expect him to give an update on which counties will roll back on reopening. Theyre saying you should gather outside, you should wear masks. No more than three households should get together and you should not be together for more than two hours. These are recommendations.
