Today the San Francisco board of education will consider a plan to reopen Public Schools in january. Three of the seven Board Members support this plan. It includes reopening Elementary Schools for students with disabilities, plus students in preschool, traditional kindergarten and first grade. Other grades would be added later on. The district says ongoing negotiations with the Teachers Union and insufficient supplies have hindered them from getting a firm schedule for reopening. The board could, though, vote as soon as next week. Also today the palo alto unified board is expected to eprove plans for middle and high schools in early january. The hybrid proposal includes bringing groups of 30 to 60 students back for inperson learning at least four days a week. Students would not have lockers and they would be assigned seats. The San Francisco Marin Food Bank just received its annual donation of 1,000 turkeys from foster farms. Three months since the state rolled out that color coded reopening plan and now we expect several counties to go backwards into more restrictive categories into the reopening plan. In a News Conference on monday Alpine County will be among the counties that go backwards and be forced to reduce some indoor activities, capacities and perhaps even shut down some businesses. Its unclear if other counties will be on that list. The governor said while the Positivity Rate in california is right around 3. 7 and that may be good relative when compared to other states. Just a few weeks ago, the Positivity Rate here in california was 2. 5 . People are letting their guard down. Theyre taking their masks off. Theyre starting to get together outside of their household cohorts. Theyre starting to see businesses reopen and were starting again to see more people mixing as it gets colder. In that household that s noa see household gatherings as a major source of transition but we can make important end roads and our own choices can really reduce that transmission. The county says its running out of space to keep bodies because of the growing number of coronavirus cases. Youve got a potential of ten morgues in your community. The trajectory does not look good at all and that to me is extremely scary. Climate control trailers and trucks have been set up to store these bodies. New developments, elielielii just receive emergency use. It is meant for treatin patients at high risk or getting worse, i should say, and needing hospitalization. The u. S.
