Do you think there is a worry that voters are getting complacent . Theyre looking at these positive polls. Ptsd. Democrats have a strong case of profound ptsd. Theyre not going to take anything for granted this time around. If you compare where biden is to where hillary was, he has about three times the national lead, but the battleground states were close. Democrats remember that at the last minute, there was a surge in votes for the president. That is less likely to happen this time because hes the incumbent. This time, undecideds usually break against the incumbent. They broke four years ago, but the democrats are going to tan take anything for granted. Where does early voting fit into all of this and what do you make of the long lines . 36 Million People have already voted. That is about 20 of the total vote. We have never seen anything like this before. Its very possible that you are going to see by election day, 40 to 50 of the country has already voted. The question right now, democrats seem to have the edge in the early vote, but what we dont know is that cannibalizing votes of people who were going to vote for the democrats anyway, but theyre just banking those votes now and it gives a skewed look at whats happening. We dont know the answer to that yet, but it seems like theres almost no question were going to have record turnout in 2020. Big debate thursday night. The Trump Administration announced a deal for walgreens and cvs health to administer health care to longTerm Care Facilities if and when a vaccine is approved. They would be free to patients thank you for being with us this morning. Long Term Care Facilities can sign up for this starting on monday, and are you hearing any dates as to when you will have your hands physically on a possible vaccine . Well, no. Were not hearing any dates about when well physically have the vaccine other than what all the rest of us know, you know, hoping for something in mid to late november, but well wait and see. The science has to get done, and the fda has to approve the vaccine, but basically the process would be that we would send teams of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to Nursing Homes and people would basically be providing their consent to be vaccinated and then we would go through the nursing home and provide that initial vaccination. Most of these vaccinations are going to require a booster dose, and so well be back two to three to four weeks later. Okay. So youre in talks with the government to expand this already so that cvs would offer covid vaccines in the stores as well. Whats the latest there . Yes. Were preparing to be able to provide vaccinations throughout the rest of the pandemic. Today we provide nearly 20 million flu vaccinations, and we think that we can greatly increase that number. So were preparing our our retail clinics and our pharmacists to be able to vaccinate people on an expedited basis, and we think that we can provide a significant contribution in terms of getting this pandemic over by distributing the vaccine. You mentioned the flu vaccine. Weve seen a big Public Health push for people to get their flu shots this year. What kind of a demand are you seeing for that . Are people heeding the warning from those Health Professionals . Really tremendous demand. Weve done nearly 10 million flu vaccinations already. Thats about double of what weve done last year at this time. Weve provided nearly 20 million flu vaccinations so people are heeding advice of the Public Health experts and getting their flu shots early, and thats important especially as we go into the late part of the fall, early part of the winter where we might see an increased level of infection with the covid virus. And real quickly, as far as testing goes, i know testing is an issue for a lot of places across the country, is there any hope that you guys are going to be able to ramp up and provide that service as well to people in your communities . Yes. We have been ramping up. We gave our first test back in march. Today were doing it at nearly 4,000 pharmacies. Were gearing up to do 4 million tests per month, and so were trying to play a significant role in providing easy access to testing which we know is very important to try to prevent the spread of the virus. Dr. Troy brennan, thank you so much for being with us this morning. We appreciate your time. Dan . Lets talk now about the economic pain for millions of americans during this pandemic. 11 million still out of work. Well, expect a showdown on capitol hill this week because Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell says that the senate would vote on a very narrow stimulus relief package. I have an obligation to my employees and to my community. We dont know whats going to happen. The pandemic seems like its getting stronger again. So were really, really risking a lot by still trying to grow food. Reporter one florida farmer takes us around his property and says the pandemic makes it difficult to be profitable. Food security is a matter of national security. If we cant feed our own country were in big, big, big trouble.
